The club needs a complete reset. I suspect its difficult as there are some huge overheads like the training ground. Essentially the club needs to run sustainably and self sufficiently. I don't think there are people with the skills to do that in the club currently. A league one/two, and build from the ground up, may do us a favour.

This is the issue. We look a million miles off a Premier League team at present. We have had not one good dominant performance against anyone. We simply aren't very good. This is where the rules need to change. PSR is a complete joke, the fact is average players shouldn't be on high salaries with no performance, it also allows the big six to over pay wages to stockpile players. This is the reason why clubs get into trouble. It should be something like 10k salary plus 10k per goal or whatever, 10k clean sheets, 10k assists. I bet then you see a lot less disinterested players knocking around. PSR is trying to fix the result of the problem not the cause. Docking points from bottom clubs because they have had to pay hideous wages to average players it the wrong solution. I know we have a choice to pay those wages but as you say a market has been created.

Why don't we get them on performance bonus contracts. i.e you dont play like a complete waste of space and win, and score etc we will top the wages up, success rewarded. Its no wonder a lot of players cant be arsed.

The biggest issue with Cooper is he had no tactics. Anyone who has an ounce of knowledge about football could see that, it shows how utterly inept the punditry is in the game. Like I genuinely have no idea what he was trying to do in games, he sent 11 players on the pitch with a a vague direction not to lose. I think luck and individual brilliance got our wins, nothing else. Not one game this season have we looked even close to a Premier League team in my opinion.

I think the writing is on the wall for us. We are down, done for gone. Its now a matter of rebuilding ourselves sustainably to come up maybe in about 3 years. I think Brighton end up dropping into the mix, they looked awful against us, Southampton and Palace. Probably one of the worst sides I've seen except for us.

Tbf though without the board we would never have won anything more than the league cup. Leicester City are a mediocre Championship to Premier yo yo club. It's a shame they didn't seize the massive opportunity but I think too much faith was placed in Rodgers. Noone else is buying this club and making us any better, that's something we have to accept. There is a massive difference between us and the Saudis, it's difficult with a fully fit squad but we have a lot of injuries. We need to beat the teams around us and sneak the odd other point here and there at home, that's all we can hope for.
