What are your expectations for next season?
Foxin_Mad replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
Its always been a promotional tool for King Power. I think we have this weird vision that because Vichai is no longer with us, he would have done something differently. I am not so sure. The rot set in the year after the League Title really, terrible signings, changes of manger etc etc. Puel started to turn us around, then Rodgers got a bit lucky for a while with some of the players Puel brought in. Rodgers and Connergton were a disaster, brought in a lot of expensive players who weren't actually that good. Its still the same people running the club that Vichai had, a lot of the issues now are about complying with FFP. -
What are your expectations for next season?

It's gonna be pure relegation, could be some of the worst football least goals and points ever seen. -
Absolutely gutting, top bloke, truly a massive part of what made us win tge league. RIP Shakey.
-
To be honest we are really blunt. We had a lack of creativity last year, we have not only not solved that we got rid of the only bloke who was creative! We need a creative player and a decent striker. Neither and Derbys points record is in serious danger of bring broken I'm afraid.

I think maybe he wasn't the right manager at that time, inexperienced. He's gone on to be a good manager, maybe that period helped him. It is strange they have this weird obsession with possession football, yet we won the league with the exact opposite, which kind of shows the luck element. Most Leicester fans want to see a team that try's to win a match. I think unless you have very good technical players its very difficult to be an effective possession based side.

I think there is a bit of a myth that Vichai ran this club fantastically. The same group of people are here that he chose, they have always been poor at communicating and made mistakes since day 1 (Sousa). Most if our success was pure luck from the fact Nigel Pearson built and fantastic structure and Raneri was tge right man at the right time. We also won the FA Cup after Vichai. We wasted a tremendous amount of money after winning the league and failed to capitalise on that, we then gave Rodgers too much power. Have KP made mistakes yes, could we have worse owners? most definitely. Would we have a premier league, fa cup and charity shield without them, no.

The only arc Ward is making is when he dives over a ball heading into the back of the net!!

At least none of our kits are like Red Bull Leeds

Concerns about the direction of the club

I can guarantee there will be some absolute melts who buy this, everyone should boycott it. But therein lies the problem only action speaks. -
Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)
Foxin_Mad replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
You keep dreaming of the imaginary millionaire riding is white horse into Leicestershire. We were in a strong position because of the work they did. Without them I have no doubt we'd be at best like Stoke. No Premier League, no FA Cup, no Champions league and no successive European tours. Im still waiting to see this list of rich owners willing to bank roll a club in the midlands. We are where we are because of some mistakes, maybe they will put them right, but with the way our idiot fans are id piss off leave the club in debt, and get some unscrupulous american, a corrupt bankrupt tosser from somewhere to sell our assets, or a useless local millionaire with no money like we have had in the past. Like it or not this club has very little interest to people outside Leicester before they came in it was bankrupt and in League 1. -

Seems more common than not that the 'odd' club gets taken over by charlatans. We don't have to accept the owners but maybe accept that a provincial mediocre club like Leicester City isn't going to be a a shining beacon for international investment, it just isnt. Without KP we would have achieved very little, without them in future we will achieve very little. Thats fine if you are happy to be some Championship beacon of mediocracy, but dont expect more or complain about it if we get it. -

This is why some of our fans need to be careful what they wish for. KP aint perfect but they aint total crooks! Kind proves there isn't a massive number of rich folk out their willing to buy premier league clubs like some believe either! -
Best way to do that is bin the PSR stupid rules, none of which make any sense

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Foxin_Mad replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Which makes it worse, I'd say we should fight every technicality in this load of shite, drag it out as long as possible. Hopefully Man City rip it a new one. -

Foxin_Mad replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Not necessarily, reading the shower if shit they have written as rules any decent lawyer should be able to rip that apart. Also it might be that whatever Man City do actually helps us, as their angle is basically the rules restrict competition, it's hard to conclude otherwise really. It's a complete shitshow. The argument is you gain sporting advantage by breaking the rules, but actually the red cartel and Chelsea gain by buying all the best players in the country like a player farm. Teams like Leicester get relegated which has already damaged us. The best thing they can do is give Forest and Everton their points back for last year, as it made no difference, and scrap it all. I certainly don't think the club should accept it, the rules are crap. -

No THEY are with their total incoherent incompetence. They've been trying to deal with Man City and Chelsea for 2 years, problem is they don't even know what the so called rules are themselves. Bunch of incompetent corrupt ****wits! -

I can't believe that people still trot this stuff out in defence of these willy pullers. The rules are shit. The actual wording of the rules is shit, the coherence of competence of the of the EFL and EPL is shit. We might have some of our own issues, but facts remain the rules are set up to protect the Red Cartel. It's reasonable that a club challenging for the top 10 for 3 consecutive seasons, getting in to Europe and winning the FA Cup, might not prepare to sack a so called 'elite' manager and get relegated. There's an element of risk, the owners absorb it. If you want to try and compete you gotta take risk. Otherwise it's a Brentford/Bournemouth/Palace style operation of nothingness. If that's what we HAVE to accept to comply with 'the rules' selling our best players and the Red cartel claming their top 6 place and European spot no matter how badly they are run and blatantlycheating the rules...what is the actual point of the Premier League? Or quite honestly football at the top level? -
Hopefully he has more positional awareness than Faes, and isn't prone to being continually ripped apart by a basic counter. Would also be nice if he had a bit of presence in the opposition box on set pieces too. Maybe we could do this crazy thing and score from a corner, it'd be a revelation!

Foxes Trust Update – Shirt Sponsorship
Foxin_Mad replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
I mean to be fair anything made by Adidas is probably made in the same sweatshop, but take your point. This big sports brands profiteer of the misery of others! 70 quid! bet the maker probably sees a fiver max. -
Foxes Trust Update – Shirt Sponsorship
Foxin_Mad replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think the big teams are doing it too, or certainly have done, like Chelsea selling hotels, Inflated transfers, mysterious deals to Saudi, United getting record sponsorships despite being absolutely garbage on the field. The whole game is utterly rotten really, the big 6 have always done deals but now we are forced to to 'comply with rules'. -
Foxes Trust Update – Shirt Sponsorship

Just wondering is there any ethical Premier League club? All the money is pretty dirty. I think really for the people that have strong views about this it might be time to find new past time. Football, the Premier League is riddled to the core with corruption, greed, dirty money, it unlikely to change. -
Chris Wood is on a free isnt he, maybe we should bring him back. Hes not got a bad record when fit.

Concerns about the direction of the club
Foxin_Mad replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
I mean if anyone thinks any of this is going to improve for example under American ownership, well it wont. Also I don't think the ownership has changed since Vichai was here, in reality he got lucky, I am not actually sure much difference would have occurred were he still alive, they've always done one or 2 bizarre things, and generally always been terrible at communication. The people in place had been around since he was here also. Sadly its modern football. Unless the fans buy the club and run it, there's not many clubs who are that bothered by 'fans' anymore. Football is really broken at the top level. -
Im not actually sure they did last year to be honest. Some of the shooting was chronic!
-
I think the reason a lot of the Strikers were so crap last year is there was clearly no effort or practice put into shooting and hitting the target. Everything was about how we could perform to most beautiful inverted triangulator! I think maybe if we practice shooting we may hit the goal a bit more!
