The pile on is not personal against him. however it is an indictment of his coaching and managerial ability. 20+ games and we still have no idea how he actually wanted us to play. Probably a decent guy as you say. Paid own compensation to come here shows he really wanted to be here and do well. In the end, performances and results showed he was well out of his depth at our club. I too wish him well but it is the right call for him to leave.

have to disagree, from my side 2 decent shouts. this is where we are as a club. We have no money, only players who play with pride are young academy lads ( Page and Nelson) massively overpaid squad with a host wanting to leave or leaving end of season. director of football who is absolutely crap and an owner who has made a great effort to ruin his fathers incredible legacy. rowett and Hassenhuttl might not be the most popular but I don’t think bad ideas. rowett knows the league so well and will play for results and not pass for the sake of it. Yes sacked at Oxford but he did great last year to keep them up and they will likely go down this year. hassenhuttl I am not sure, more fools on our end as they lost 9-0 on 2 occasions and we went and signed 2 of their back 4. After the last 3 managers that our so called head of football has picked, our fans can’t do any worse surely.

Have got the previous 3 appointments drastically wrong. need a Manager who knows the league and will set standards that these players have not had for ages. Might not be popular but Gary Rowett could be an option. out of work, knows the league. Can work on a budget. Has done well at previous clubs. Focus on results and not having to play possession as it is popular.

Fully agree. However this would require forward thinking. I would have liked Okoli to play CB in the premier league and let him learn. Losing anyway. At least he can develop and then be better position to start in the championship. Ayew is leaving in a few months, and still starts almost every game. Offers little and yet Evans and Hutchinson still can’t even get on the bench. They need the games to develop for next season. if Marti refuses to play them, hopefully they can have a loan move and get some game time. Braybrooke, Alves, Evans and Hutchinson will all be needed next season.

I don’t understand how the sanctions take so long. Either we are guilty or not. we need to accept the punishment and deal with it. Longer it goes on the worse it gets. we could have accepted this in the PL, gone down and not wasted millions on Ayew and Skipp and been in a position to plan for the championship and move forwards. no we are still regressing with no positive signs for 2026/27 when we will still be in the championship.

He is not a captain. And performances have declined a lot. need to give the captaincy to JJ. Captain has to set the example for the team. Ricardo lacks in performance and leadership. Probably the best RB we have ever had, however been poor for the season.

They can not say anything about the club. Even Matt Elliot, Taggart have to be so careful otherwise they will lose their jobs. they can not say how they feel or what they really think. Have to be very careful and always look for positives. their jobs on the line if they say anything that brings negativity to Top, Rudkin and others.

Okoli has been out injured for previous 2 months. first game back. we conceded 4 with vestegaard and Nelson. all of our defenders have many weaknesses. it took marti 12 games to start Nelson! Our best defender by some way. get the best out of our players. Okoli can’t pass, so tell him to pass to Ricardo or play forward as soon as he gets it. Nothing else. okoli had a difficult game, I would still start Okoli and Nelson for the next few games. Let them build a partnership and start from there.

I have posted previously saying what does Skipp do. Last few games Skipp has been excellent and deserves all the praise coming his way. In the second half, received under pressure and switched to Ricardo. Then the joint block with Vestegaard. Brilliant performance last couple of games and great to see.

Great win. Nervous second half due to dreadful error 6 academy players to end the game. some brilliant goals and look a real attacking threat now. Excellent!

Fully agree our rebuild is a multi window task. My main concern is that I have not seen anything from Marti to suggest he deserves more time. As a manager I would expect to see improvement from our players. But for every single player to be poor alarms. you mention Ben Nelson and that Marti plays Faes over him. Whatever the question is, watching Faes every single week surely tells you he is not the answer. Nelson has a far higher ceiling, and in the long run valuable to our club. Give him the game time! Okoli started the season ok. Then dropped for Faes too, coincidentally when our results turned to this again. Okoli struggles in possession, our whole club continues to decline with his fascination to pass the ball. If any club breaks the mould on style of play, surely it is us who won the league playing counter attack. Okoli is a better defender than faes and vestegaard. Play him. Can not be a coincidence that with our 2 best passers in defense we actually can’t defend. as you correctly said, we limped over the line in 2024 and have been dire in every aspect since from board, managers to players. I really struggle to see 1 positive from Marti’s 18 or so games here that he is the right man for the club.

Agreed, He has been given a huge task. But in my opinion he is not up to the job. talks a good game. Delivers nothing. I disagree by saying positive is game time to Nelson. Wasn’t even in the squad for 12 league games. It should not take our manager who sees the players every day, until the 13th game of a season to give game time to our most promising and best defender. I just don’t see anything in him that makes me think he is the right manager to take on this job. definitely need to remove deadwood. But that should have been done in the summer. Faes, just get rid. Offer for free. Same for soumare. You are certainly correct that is a huge squad upheaval and it is a really difficult job. Losing Vardy, Ndidi, Bilal, certainly weakened the team massively. But 5 wins in 15 games in the championship, I expect better. Even with the current squad.

Took him 13 games to play Ben Nelson! tells me everything about this man as a coach. Ben has a far bigger future than any of our other defenders and wasn’t even in the squad for 10 of our games. To add, the only tactic is to give the ball to Fatawu and hope he can dribble and create anything. another dire appointment! 3rd in a row for our board.

I don’t dispute your message . it is a clear failing from board not to get rid Faes, Soumare, Thomas etc. I would though expect a manager to make best of the team he has. Marti is not doing that. his quote yesterday is interesting, but he picks the team. No need for certain players in the match day squad at all. To talk about youth and then keep these blockers in ahead of Nelson is dreadful. We all gave Marti a chance when he came in. I am yet to see any positive aspect of his coaching or decisions. His in game subs make us worse, every week. Talks a good game but far away from what we actually see. We all might have differing opinions on this. And it is certainly a difficult job. I just have not seen anything to say, Marti is a good coach and can see that the team are progressing.

Can certainly see the possibility that Vardy had enough of what is going on at the club. I also think he was not offered a contract and had to look for an alternative move. With J Evans saying club didn’t even contact him. Same likely happened to Vardy. I get your point on the manager being thrown under a bus, he certainly has handful of players like this. However, he does select the team. There is no need for Faes, Soumare, Thomas, Kristensen to be anywhere near the team. Why has he not played Aluko at all? Or Evans, and of course Nelson? Like majority of recent managers they speak well. But limited action. Always talks about playing youth but no evidence on this at all. Play the players who are committed to the club and will try.

Absolutely! Ward worse than useless. amartey I didn’t mind as a squad player. But to drop Soyuncu for him. Unbelievable. Brendan gave up months before he was sacked. Can’t have that. Really don’t get what Marti has seen in Faes and Vestegaard. There is no long term benefit to the 2 playing. With Nelson we can have a player for the next 5+ years. Oxford fans said he is great. So what if he makes mistakes. Faes and vesteegard have for years, continuously. And constantly play. Nelson far more valuable to the club. imagine a defense of jakub Ricardo / hamza okoli nelson aluko 4 players from the academy! Brilliant and something to really support. His performances and ability certainly can be questioned. But we can never say he doesn’t try. Out of all players to jeer, should never be to him. Faes, Soumare, Ayew, Thomas, should be well before Daka.
