Agreed on all. wished well for Andy King after all he did as a player. But he fell into the trap all others have done. rowett was horrendous and squad selection at Blackburn proves this. taking off 2 academy lads and playing players who are not here next season. Why didn’t he play Hutchinson at all or Aluko for longer. Won’t work with youth players. All need removing, sooner the better. Should have no say in any discussions for pre season.
-
No. We are guilty. Naivety and lack of interest from Top, incompetence from Rudkin lead to this. If there was anything riding on the game our players would have faulted, as they did all season. Do not let 1 win in a meaningless game suggest otherwise. Blackburn were on holiday.

Pre injuries wonderful player, one of the best in the world in his position and certainly comes across as a nice / good person. He was completely the wrong choice for a captain though. Failed in his leadership of a team. also, after relegation was confirmed he didn’t speak to any fans, drove of quickly. As captain his responsibility, not for Page or hamza to do so. That’s my only dispute with Ricardo.

Football is just not as entertaining now. - obsession with possession stats rather than allowing players to play and showcase skills and attacking talent - VAR and the dreadful way it is operated. VAR itself is a great idea, if used by people who know what to do, and for clear and obvious errors not every decision - every new rule change to help the top 6 sides. More subs, extra mins stoppage time, and profit and sustainability a joke - top clubs can’t be punished yet every other club quick to do so. to top it all we are clueless as a club from top down. Certainly doesn’t help keep interest in football seeing how dire we are and players don’t care. I didn’t actually feel anything on relegation. Quite sad how little emotion involved after supporting the club 32 + years to feel nothing at all with this team.

Owner - incapable of running our club Jon Rudkin- useless in all aspects recruitment- appoint a new scouting department. Why did we go for the guy from Southampton to head scout? Cant remember Southampton being known for excellent signings. Back to the model of decent championship players and build from this. We had the most success with signings domestically and for some reason massively went in a different direction. playing style - does it always have to be 433. After 40 games maybe try something else players- I would literally only keep Nelson, Monga and Page. 1st team manager who has authority and vision for the future. Has to get the best out of players available. other than this we are in a good position.
-
I genuinely don’t know what he does even after seeing him play for 3-4 seasons. slow, can’t defend and always in wrong position, puts an occasional decent cross in the box every other Month and got rewarded with a 4 year contract. Laughable! Systematic of the huge problem in the club. Highest paid Lb in the league and likely the worst player.
-
Agreed. I actually felt Rowett would be a good choice in our current position. He hasn’t changed anything at all. Persists with players who underperform and constantly starts same formation. Surely he knows there are more formations that 1-4-3-3. He is off in a month and players know it and don’t care.
-
Started promising and unfortunately been brought down to our current squads standards. Issue I have now is why are we benefitting another club if the player is not excellent for us. Page could do with the game time, and even Monga for mavididi.
-
Agreed. the club posts always mention they want out support. If the club want the fans onside the quickest and easiest way is to sack Rudkin now. the atmosphere will quickly turn positive.

Great point and I can’t disagree with that. there has to be a reason we never had these stories with Maresca, and then the same players had issues different managers. Players didn’t respect any manager we have had in the last 2 seasons. Bigger picture is they can get away with anything and no consequences here. This more stems from the chairman and board. Marti seemed too nice to be a manager, Ruud I couldn’t believe he was appointed. Never in his career has he been at the bottom of a league table. Top and JR are showing true colours and both appalling.
-
Completely agree. Pearson set standards and got rid of players with bad attitudes (Mills and Beckford etc) Maresca had clear standards and aims too. to lose him and replace with managers who are far worse, add in a chairman who is barely around, a sporting director hated by players and incompetent, Players were not allowed to leave Faes, Iversen even though they wanted, To constantly reward abject performances from the board with Ruskin promotion and players like Thomas on a 4 year deal. there is no driving factor for them to do well. Reap what you sow and that is why we are likely going to league one.
-
Why persist with same formation every game. Hasn’t worked for 40 games, why think it will work now. Expected Rowett to be a competent championship manager who would play for results not performances.
-
Had a couple of decent corner routines last 2 games. Fatawu decent chances on both. i can’t understand why we do not have players on posts anymore. Easily headed away in the Preston game and today surely could have prevented this goal.
-
Completely agreed. I was one of the people who was asking for a Rowett to be our manager. I felt he knows the league, will not be fixated on having to pass the ball out from the back, will play for results. But have not seen any evidence of this at all. What on earth does he see in playing Ayew? Daka always plays better in a 2. Surely Saturday when losing at home was a chance to go 2 up top. Baffling the decisions that are being made by every manager we have had the last couple of seasons. Our players in the premier league thought we were too good to go down and same in the championship.
-
When will we ever realize we are in a relegation battle. stop playing the ball out from the back. We can not do it. Team think they are too good and can play same way every game.
-
Amazing how we can overspend and make the team so much worse. maybe the EFL being lenient and we still manage to get relegated is not such a long shot after all. will take another 18 months until majority of high earners are out of the club and off the wage bill. Will be a continued struggle until then I fear.
-
I do agree we play like a 1 man team. I think 6 points is lenient for cheating. We should have accepted this in the premier league and not had this drag on a while. 6 points gives us a chance to stay up. We do not deserve to though, we lost at home to Oxford and Charlton. No accountability at the top, dire management from directors, manager who was a nice guy by all accounts but ultimate proved useless, and players who are vastly overpaid and think they are better than others. Our formation and tactics remain the same regardless of any opposition and we have conceded in 20+ games in a row and still change nothing. We deserve to go down off the pitch and as a result we play like it too.
-
There should be a standard point deduction for any team who overspend. (PSR is dreadful anyway and hinders teams challenge the top 6) this is a typical FA decision. when teams are doing well take more points. team close to relegation will be less. The 3 points deductions Everton, Forest and Leicester. All three have caused 0 impact on the clubs. Forest 4 points so they do not go into relegation, we have 6 so stay outside relegation. Everton were doing well had 10 and no near relegation. FA want to appear to govern the game but lack in correct decision making.
-
Winks is still one of our better players. when he wants, excellent
-
When was the last time we actually had a game with a tactical plan. we set up the same every single game for years regardless of opposition. Charlton reviewed our performances and clearly know Ricardo and Thomas are dreadful in the air so they played long. Worked excellently. we do the same every single game.
-
Valid point. But that would require a bit of understanding about football. I think the conversation would more likely be around a what food they will eat later.
-
Unfortunately. Not in Top and Rudkins eyes. With dumb and dumber in charge they probably think ideal position for a good run to get into play offs
-
I have actually wanted Okoli to start and play, even in the prem. Ruud was right! can’t get the tactical decision to leave 1v1 at any stage of a game anyway. Always have a 2nd even for cover. But that is terrible defending.
-
Too nice of a man to be a manager. clearly been swayed by Marti and the club. to make 1 forced change to the team shows he has no idea what to do. really poor from him and as much as like him as a player, clearly out of depth as a manger

Realistic Managerial Replacements
JJD_LCFC replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
We should have a better team than what we have seen this season even with all our issues. With the right manager our squad should be mid table to play offs 5th or 6th . Oxford will go down, have the lowest budget in the league (bar Sheff Wed). Did excellent to stay up last season. rowett results have been mixed certainly. Good Birmingham, ok at Millwall and good last year Oxford not so this year. He clearly knows the league and could do well. I might be wrong of course. Just think it is not a bad suggestion. pearson not rated at derby, Forest, Watford etc but loved here. Rowett could be the one to set the right standards for our club and get us back on track. Maybe I was a fan when he was a player here and want him to do well rather than it being a viable option.
