Villa (Away) Saturday 4th Jan 3pm (Match Thread)
Sandwhale replied to tcrofts's topic in Leicester City Forum
****s sake, I just take a moment from the wedding I'm at to check the forum for an idea for how the game is going and like the touch of death, it's just as Villa score... Isn't even the first time this has happened... -
Ahh, fair enough. Work kept me from watching the game and busy enough this week that I've only now catching up on things. Hope it's nothing serious for him
-
KDH with an "injury" that keeps him out of the game, safely wrapped up and ready to ship out to new pastures? No point in risking a knock to probably our greatest asset in the transfer market with everything safely wrapped up
-
Late in asking myself, but looking for one ticket if anybody has a spare

Fofana's luck just keeps getting better and better... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/25351740/eastenders-dean-gaffney-run-over-chelsea-wesley-fofana/

Could a logic behind it be to have one keeper that you'd actually use and then drag another that you want to get rid of, but are bringing to every game to make sure they don't have a quiet weekend. Also, giving them some potential shame by being in the team, but that everybody knows is never going to be used.
-
Hard not to feel disappointed after that, but from my view you've got to take the positive that we're looking better as a team than we have in ages. Too many times I've watched Leicester knowing that we'll never get those second balls or that cutting passed will always find their way to the feet of the opposition. Not so much today, I could watch us without a sinking feeling all the time. Our performance isn't where we want it to be, but we are improving. Just have to hope that it improves enough that we're putting up a fight for the remainder of the season

Being honest, my opinion of him has wavered so much historically. Mostly over whether he is useless or feckin useless. However, glad to admit in recent times I've really taken a shine to the lad. He has more talent than I'd dared to admit and more determination too. That pass for the goal today was commitment personified

Which are easily avoided if you're using a PC, just download something like uBlock Origin and that'll sort you out (gets rid of adverts on things like Youtube too) There's probably options for mobile too, but none that I've heard of that dont sound a little questionable.

Good shout, knew someone would come up with one in no time. Was really grasping at straws with my offering though
-
Yeah, but that's the obvious comparison for Arteta. Grasping at straws and wasting some time earlier at work, the best I could come up with for Scarlet himself was Saša Lukić

The instant I read this, I pictured Rodgers going around Seagrave with a lump of wood and a hammer ready to break legs of anyone who looked at him funny. Thanks for the unintentional laugh!

Just come back from being out all day and am wondering if I should catch the second half. After the disappointment of Southampton last week, can anyone advise whether or not to inflict this upon myself?

Got to feel he'll move on at some point before his contract runs out. Never mind the wages he's on, if he wants to get decent contract with another club after Leicester, that club will want to see some aspiration and ability in him, other than the one to warm benches. Choosing to sit on a contract with little but poor performances under his belt, to the detriment of any international aspirations that he might have and to the detriment of the club from not being willing to move on isn't a great look. However, can't fault him for making the most of the generous contract he has though, it's not his fault that he was offered it, that blame lies with club management that signed off on it. My thoughts are that he's thinking of collecting 2 out of the 3 years with us and will move on in the summer. At least, that's what I hope.

I just don't really get the comparative love for Nacho and dislike for Daka that some people have. I'm torn on them both myself feeling that they've both still got a lot to prove. From some people's comments, you'd take from yesterdays game that Nacho played much better than Daka. However both fluffed great chances (I've not seen many comments about Nacho blazing a decent one way over the bar towards the end) and even Nacho's goal came from a lucky deflection (watch the replay, it's going wide on the left). Though I'd be delighted to be proven wrong, I don't think either are at the standard we need right now.

Huh, looks like it is. The BHA twitter account tagged his account for an interview

Is this even his account? No blue checkmark and Twitter page has him joining as of July last year

After 20 games played, do you think we are going down?
Sandwhale replied to ozleicester's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah, have to agree about Brendan now. For the longest time I've been a reluctant supporter because he gets blamed not just for the parts that he's responsible for but also the contract terms, sole responsibility for signings, the root cause of every injury and probably the beer being flat in the concourse... However, there's no easier way to change the attitude of the team than to change management and its reached that time for me. Who comes in that we can attract atm though? -

Miserable sods... Sure, things look a little bleak atm, but another signing or two in will revitalise the squad. Plus, having Maddison back and hopefully fully firing again will give the team a cutting edge it's lacked for a while. I'm honestly not too worried, for all the teams problems there are others in a worse state right now. Nothing is guaranteed and its definitly a transition period, but I reckon the team has enough to drag itself to safety this time. The summer is going to be hugely important though -
True, but I still maintain that the physio and player have more involvement than Rogers. Rogers isn't a medical expert and so he's relying on others for that knowledge. If he's disregarding the advice he's being given by the medical team then there will be internal evidence of Rogers disregarding those memos/emails, which would lead to Rogers being held to account by the club management and more oversight/power given to the medical team in order to keep the players from getting crocked. If Rogers is disregarding advice from the medical team and there are no consequences from management then I'd say the fault lies with the management team for not doing their job. To me, the more likely scenario is that the player or medical team are idiots about fitness.
-
Said it before though, feels harsh to place this all on Rogers shoulders. I get that he's an easy visible target, but surely more responsibility should be put on the player and the medical team. On knows first hand how they're doing physically and the other has training to know the limits of a body. Rogers choosing a player to start doesn't mean they should snap like a twiglet in the first 5 mins

Phrasing of "six weeks alone with Rogers" ... Just brings images of Rogers locked in a room with each of the players for the six weeks roleplaying as a physio whipping out the deep heat and his notebook. Well, thats my nightmares sorted for tonight, thanks.
