King Brendan ...... ohhh how lucky we are
Le Renard replied to LinekersLugs's topic in Leicester City Forum
Did I call you a hater? I don't think I mentioned you or anyone in my post! You can't deny there are some people on this Forum who are never pleased with the manager and want them sacked toute de suite. If there is an accusation to lay at Rodgers door, it would be he was too gung ho against Sheikh city & Liverpool, this has dented the confidence of some of the squad, who realised that they were not as good as they thought. Rodgers is trying to reninstall tha -

Rodgers was first choice to replace Puel way before he was sacked and I suspect the club and the owners assume Rodgers is here for the long term to develop young players. So all you Rodgers haters....he's going nowhere soon.....I think? I'm no big fan of Brenda's 'David Brent speak', but what is the alternative? -
Oh well I'm going back into lockdown. Don't want to watch us anymore, it has stop being enjoyable! Sometimes I think it is best to be a mid-table team with nothing to play for, I can then relax and stop being a grumpy arse to my family for the next few hours/days or maybe weeks at this rate! All I want is for Rodgers to stop giving his usual sunny uplands speech and tell us fans how it is.

How do you know he has a lack of tactical knowledge? It is not Football Manger!!!! As all football fans we try to find a reason for loss of form, the media helps fuel these conspiracy theories ... "he's lost the dressing room". Most pros who have played under Rodgers generally speak very highly of him! I'm not his greatest fan, but sometimes you have to give a Manager time at least 2-3 years to build something. -

You would think it is so easy being a football manager with the comments on here! Just put him there, bring so & so and we will win, oh wait! Change the formation instead, that will work! Give it passion and a bit of fist pumping that will do the job! The problems are more of a confidence issue for the players.....now it is Brenda's job to rectify that, he needs to get the best out of Maddison, who's had a drop off in form and find the midfield solution for Vardy, so that he can get his scoring boots on again! If he does that he's a hero again, but if not he will have the chance to bring some players in to rectify this. If our form continues to nose dive next season, then it is the time to question his management skills!!! -
What the Fook has happened to Jamie Vardy?

Is He still carrying an injury? What I can see though is the service to him is crap, maybe teams have learnt to nullify him or nullify Rodgers system. I keep going back to the Norwich match at the KP, but it seems other clubs have learnt from that match how to keep us quiet. My only concern is that Rodgers hasn't found the remedy, perhaps he is a one trick pony! Although I still think he's the best Leicester can get for our size of club. -
Perhaps we don't have the type of players who have the right mentality, I'm not talking the fist pumping type! It seems every time in these last 3 years or so we just fall short of what is achievable! The team seems fragile and can't handle a whole season under pressure........ I think Rodgers knows this, I hope he will try and bring in some experience to help.

I think football fans suffer from the medical term STMS:- short term memory syndrome!! Sure Brenda has too many David Brent-esque sayings, but he's the best manager a club the size of Leicester can get. One month he's the messiah, then the next he's as bad as Puel! If we don't get Chamions league I will be gutted, but sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture and acknowledge that we will achieve our season's objective of european football!! -
Rodger's just trying to find a winning formula and get the confidence back, but 4231 with the 2 CDM's is not a problem if you move the ball quickly. I still think we lack a central midfielder who can power past people with a burst of pace! Maddison can't do that, Tielemans has no pace, Praet is not that type of player, I still think we need a Loftus Cheek style of player who can drive past people and therefore open up the spaces.
-
The French commentator on RMC Sport described Leicester in one word 'Insipide'! Couldn't have put it better myself!
-
Is this a Brendon Rodgers side or have we reverted to Puel ball? Gray & Kasper are the only players who could come off that pitch without hanging there heads in shame.
-
Perhaps I should have said that he seems not too overly ambitious to point that it is all about him looking for the big money contract like some footballers.
-
Ndidi doesn't seem to be the type of player who is overly ambitious.....the kiss the badge type and then push for a move, he seems to be content with us and he's doing his degree at the university. I think we might keep him for another year or two if we play in the champions league.
-
Ooops hit enter too soon!! I said it 'seems to be club policy'....it is a conditional use of language. I don't think the club will earmark one player, but they are realistic when the likes of Manure, Sheikh city & chelsea come calling and will only allow one first team player a season to go.

-
Remember it seems to be a club policy to sell a top player every year in order to grow the club so I have no problem in selling Chilwell if invested wisely. If Chelsea want to pay 75 million in this climate when English clubs should have around a billion revenue shortfall this year, then we will have pulled their pants down on this one. Ambromovich probably made a few quid out of this crisis, he made his money through disaster capitalism in Russia and he recently had to put a 70 million or so into chelsea to keep it afloat.
-
Chelsea will only spend on Chilwell if they can get in the champions league, they are cash poor and rely on their benefactor. At this moment the prediction is that football transfers will go down by 20% and the wages will go down with it. Most footballers might kiss the badge but they also care about how much cash there are getting in their pay packet! If there is a second lockdown, then expect clubs to not spend and players will stay at their current clubs on big wages. Think Pogba and Man Utd, he would probably rather stay than accept a pay reduction at another club.

What’s gone Wrong (in 20 words or less)
Le Renard replied to LinekersLugs's topic in Leicester City Forum
Loss of Confidence! Need to win ugly 1-0....hits someones arse and then goes in! -
What happens when plan B doesn't work do we need a plan C,D & E? Once the game is in full flow it is difficult to change the game until half time, then you have to hope the opposition doesn't second guess you! Most teams have a plan B if they are losing 1-0 with around 20 mins left on the clock, it is just about the players having confidence to do this, and at the moment we look like we have none! The question needs to be how does Rodgers get the confidence back in the team, if/when he does that Plan A & B will work!
-
I'm still waiting for the Newcastle fans prediction that he plays better in the second half of the season!! Most people know his best posistion is in the centre as a cam/cf, the Norwich game just showed that forcing him out wide, with the low block makes him a bystander.
-
We don't have Man city's A & B team so we have trouble against the low block! Rodgers likes his teams to press and pass the ball into forward areas at speed, but this is not working at the moment. The question is do we have the players to play like this? Also Tielemans, Maddison, Chilwell, Vardy et al are all out of form and Perez......mmmmmm enough said!
-
First of all we did play this type of football, but confidence has gone! Players have stopped passing on instinct and are making the wrong choices in the final third! The low block and forcing the likes of Perez out wide just highlights why we need a fast right sided winger/attacker. I don't think people have been hypnotised by Pep, it is just that he has 2 world class teams at his disposal for every match! I would argue Klopp style will be more influential in this country!
-
Ok so lets get Neil Warnock in and go route one then!! It is not FM or Fifa. The players are trying to get it forward but there is a lack of execution and poor choice with the final ball. Lumping the ball forward is not the answer.
-
You can see Rodgers is not very happy in the after match interview, he knows we are lacking confidence in the attacking third...it's time for him to earn his pay rise! Loosing Ndidi and the drop off in form by Vardy has hurt us as we don't have a squad with the quality to replace these two. I just hope that this will work its way through and we will find some form....or we will be the usual Leicester City and screw it up(prem league win aside)!!
