It's Jordan James against Norwich today.
-
We're missing Ramsey really badly.
-
There is no reason to start Ayew over Monga. Just utter cowardice from Cifuentes.
-
Jake Evans's pre season is the new Ben Nelson first half vs Huddersfield. Evans was fine in pre season, just unspectacular and we have persisted with Carranza and Ayew through far worse performances. With our options up front being as bad as they are, if all players are treated equally Evans would be featuring for us.
-
I really hate Jordan Ayew as a football player, why does he keep getting picked by our managers.
-
Not really, my question was which players can you expect better performances from and in my opinion theyre all unreliable so you cant expect better. They all have been better at some point in their career but so have the likes of Soumare, Skipp, Thomas, Kristiansen, would you expect a new manager to come in and get them playing to their best (Ligue 1 winner, championship TOTY, FA cup winner, Serie A top 4). It's unrealistic to expect better performances under a new manager because the form our players showed once upon a time is the exception, not the rule in terms of their careers.
-
I think that bringing in a new manager to potentially bring better performances out of our senior players is not what we need. We need a long term plan and continuity, not to chop and change to try and get better performances out of a busted flush squad. If Cifuentes does what he says which is shift out the underperforming senior players to make room for the academy then that's much more preferable than bringing in a new manager to try and get a tune out of the likes of Wout Faes, Harry Winks etc. Cifuentes does have a history of not being truthful regarding his plans to integrate academy players but if he follows through with kicking off the much needed rebuild then that's much more important for the future of the club than hitting a purple patch under a new manager, which with this group of players is far from guaranteed.
-
Winks has been poor for at least 2/3rds of his time here starting with that bad run at the end of Enzo's tenure. At this point those first 6 months with us was just a purple patch. Fatawu has always been a player who loses his head in tough situations, what manager is going to change that? I actually think he's been pretty good considering how bad our striker options are anyway, he has no one to pass to. Those wild crosses are a annoying though. Mavididi another player who has struggled for most of his time here at this point, he's been mentally weak long since Cifuentes came here and that's not going to change. The less I say about Faes the better, the fans were begging Enzo to drop him the last time we were in the championship. If a manager is going to come in and try and make Faes play well he can piss off before he steps through the door as far as im concerned. Vestergaard has been around his usual level this season, fairly solid with semi regular brainfarts. We're not going to get much better out of him. James is playing through an injury because we have no other options, a new manager isnt going to magically heal his back and get him to perform well again.

He's the only player we have who has decent off the ball movement and gets on the end of chances. Much rather him than someone like Ayew. -
What does this squad playing to its best potential look like to you? Which players are not performing to the standard we would expect from them? The way I see it the players are performing exactly as expected, because they are not very good.

He's 15 and only on his second start for the u21s to be fair, he's still a year or two off even if he's on a similar pathway to Monga. We're needing to waste James an attacking midfielder currently so it's not like we're stacked there. -

Motsi is just ridiculous, how is he scoring at u21 level as a 15 year old midfielder. -

Most managers would after the Blackburn game. I think he's starting to see why fans have been desperate for the academy players to be involved, the senior players just dont cut it. Better late than never is my opinion. -

Would seem that way. Considering we've made a switch to 3 at the back and he's our only natural wing back it would make sense that he's going to get his chance soon. -
We apparently had an offer for Faes from Besiktas in the region of £8mil but turned it down. Similarly there was strong interest in Kristiansen. There are opportunities to sell these players but we overvalue them and ask for too much.
-
Is the answer to try and get our players playing to an acceptable level or to have a clear out of the players. It won't be pretty but I think it's the latter, getting a run of form out of this squad is like putting a plaster on a gaping wound. We dont need results we need a manager to tell half this squad to find a new club.
-
I think the fans who dont like Jakub are going to be in for a massive shock with what our goal keeping situation looks like without him. He has been good this season despite our results.

Apparently had another long term injury. Shame as he's definitely a talent. -
Daka and Carranza on the teamsheet threatens to make me do something else with my day.
-
The main case i have for Marti is that he has gotten to experience first hand how poor much of this squad is and will be well aware of where we need to improve. Yes it's taken him way too long to give Nelson his first league start but now he's made it into the team hopefully he becomes a regular. Im worried that if we bring in a new manager that we're back at square one where he's trying to get a tune out of the senior pros again before turning to the academy players and we've wasted another 3 months of not integrating the young talents into the matchday squad.

Kasey McAteer sold to Ipswich - Official
honeybradger replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Think Monga is better than Mcateer already at 16, if Mcateer was around he would be taking Monga's minutes. I know it's a strange concept but we are struggling this season because our squad is bloated with too many mediocre options, holding onto one more wouldnt change a thing, if anything we need to shift more players out. -

Just a rumour that I've seen kicking around, not seen any solid evidence but it would make sense.
