  1. Bilal isnt a big sale if it goes through. We will still owe £10mil of his transfer fee to Genk next summer so it will be only £16mil net, around the same as Mcateer. We will probably need one more.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/live/_-cRM-WI4Mw?si=8R2klqKw4AdZ4Mgr&t=8072 Goal at 2:14:35
  3. We will make at least one big sale if we go up anyway like we did with Dewsbury Hall, likely Fatawu. Getting back to the Premier League and Premier League money is just a short term fix and can damage us in the long term like it did last time when we went up and signed Reid, Ayew, Skipp. It can only help us if we are run competently in the first place, the main priority should always be offloading the overpaid want-aways like Faes, Winks and Kristiansen. Going up with the wrong players making up the spine of the team only weakens the integrity of the team long term and guarantees us relegation the following season.
  4. Vestergaard was horrible against Preston. The difference is that it was treated as a free hit and allowed to rebound, Nelson wasnt allowed that opportunity. Most of us would have been happy had Vestergaard left on a free at the end of the season before last, most of us would be horrified if Nelson leaves on a free at the end of the next. That is the difference in value between the two.
  5. Gray is, Ali is a bit older so assume he already has a contract.
  6. I think it's just the funnier scenario that the opposition got so embarrassed that he had to go to ground. Youre probably right that he goes down with a sore foot but if it gives people a chuckle there's no harm in people believing otherwise.
  7. So then surely freezing him out is the right choice if there are no avenues to get him to perform.
  8. I feel like im in the upside down world. We're talking about a player who was playing in the u16s just over a year ago and has now been training with the first team for almost half a season. I dont think Ndunkwu or Connor Tee were ever on the outskirts of the first team in their time here despite being with the academy to an older age than Evans is now. It's not just my evaluation of him, Evans's CV alone for a player his age speaks for itself, it's outstanding. I cant believe people are comparing him to players who were only ever decent for us at youth level.
  9. Neither were rated as highly as Evans, they didn't even make their first team debut. I dont remember there being that much fervour around them?
  10. We know he can have an impact from the bench from his time at Cardiff. Next step for him is to have an impact when starting games then hopefully cement himself in that Huddersfield starting XI.
  11. His physicality has always been underrated. He has a small build but he knows how to use his body well to get the most leverage in a tackle.
  12. I dont know about you but it looks the same in person as it does on a laptop screen, there's not some hidden insight you get from watching football in person it's mostly just for the atmosphere. Clubs in general have realised this and are relying more and more on stats and video analysis rather than scout reports. I trust my own judgement when it comes to youth players, I remember first clocking Dewsbury Hall and thinking he was going to make it after a game against Southampton u21s, I also remember thinking Bassey was more likely to make it than Thomas when Thomas broke through. There are probably some i backed that didn't make it that I dont remember but I know what I see in Evans is the same and more than I saw in those two that did make it.
  13. There were quite a few games streamed by the opposition last season that i watched. Im not religiously following the youth teams but I've seen enough evidence to know that Evans is a serious talent. I might just go to the next u21 game vs juventus so I can tick off this 'seen him in person' bollocks assuming it's open for anyone. Then I can finally be qualified to talk about our young players apparently.
  14. I respect that youre more knowledgeable about the youth teams than I am but considering you are comparing Jake Evans to Mcateer talent wise i doubt your judgement. Evans was the star player of our U16 cup final (his goal to win it was Harry Kane-esque), was one of the top scorers at u21 level last year and made his debut for the first team in the PL at 16. His career trajectory is not the same as a Mcateer.
  15. I think he's very much a modern 9, has the technical ability and awareness of his surroundings to drop deep and link up play, can take on players if he wants but also has the goal scoring instincts to play around the box.
  16. Evans? None but I dont think you have to watch a player in person to tell if theyre good or not.
  17. I wouldnt say it's too early, he is more talented than Barnes, more technically gifted and more of a natural finisher (remember all those misses that Barnes made early on). Whether Evans realises that talent and becomes a better player than Barnes is up in the air but he's definitely got more talent and a higher ceiling.
  18. Quite comfortably a bigger prospect than Dewsbury Hall. At Evans's age Dewsbury Hall wasnt on most people's radars, he only started performing well at youth level at 19/20. Evans already has minutes in the PL and was one of the top scorers at u21 level last year despite being 16. I would argue that he's a bigger talent than Page despite Page being younger and having 2 starts for the senior team whilst Evans doesnt make the bench. That's just my opinion though and I think most people would disagree.
  19. Losing Evans is unacceptable. If Monga didnt exist he would be the best prospect we have produced in the last few decades.
  20. Surely not? Long term injury or has he really been that bad to be banished 4 games in?
  21. The exact type of personality we need at the club. Considering his talent as well it looks like an excellent addition.
  22. This whole travelling to work fiasco is just distracting from the main issue with Winks which is that his performances on the pitch over the last year for us havent been good enough. From him strolling back whilst the opposition are countering to him pulling out of tackles it's been clear that he's not applying himself on the pitch for a while now.
  23. Leicester City - death by clean slate. If i ever see us lining up with Ayew and Cordova Reid on the wings again it will have been too soon.
  24. One of those players who gets better in the eyes of the fans the less he plays. He's absolutely honking, poor positional awareness, lack of intelligence, zero composure. Not only one of the worst defenders we've ever had but one of the worst things to happen to the club full stop. He's not just a clown, he's the whole circus. Not good enough in the Prem, not good enough in the championship either. Reminder for those with short memories:
  25. It's actually insane to me that a Serie A team is going mad over signing an ex-Leicester semi retired superstar. Used to be the other way around.
