  2. We should be on our hands and knees for the manager who oversaw the worst decline in our history!
  3. Would rather extend Danny Ward than have Morton play for us.
  4. Everything you've just described: Ayew up front, Mcateer and Fatawu "locking down" the wings, Skipp or Ndidi in midfield just sounds gross.
  5. Watch us sell Mads, bring in a new number one that isn't better than Stolarczyk and barely play Stolarczyk over the new guy. Only for Stolarczyk to leave on a free in a few years time.
  6. Rutter had a similar level season to the one he just had with Brighton the year before he joined Leeds with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. There's little evidence that he's a better player than he was 3 years ago, the championship is only good for developing players who arent already used to a higher level.
  7. Summerville tore up the championship then went missing for a whole season. Players learn more in more difficult environment, if anything dropping a level below results in players stagnating.
  8. Same goes for you. El Khannous clearly has quality and is a Premier League level player. There's not much you can do individually when the rest of your team are miles off it.
  9. £10mil for Wout Faes would be ridiculous business from us and very poor for whoever is buying. We will be lucky to break even.
  10. They've just balked at £25mil for Maignan, we won't get a decent price from them for Hermansen.
  11. He's far to good to spend a season in the championship and for my money is better than Evanilson anyway. Getting him on loan is very much a pipe dream and we should be looking to develop our own players anyway.
  12. Why do people think Bournemouth are going to let one of the best talents around go on loan in the championship for a season? He will be one of the surprise players in the PL next season.
  13. Who said we have the next Neymar on our hands? He only needs to be as good as or better than Bobby Reid and Jordan Ayew as that's his competition. I feel like that's achievable.
  14. If we're comparing like for like in terms of position Vitinha failed at Wolves at 20 years old and is now one of the best midfielders in the world at 25. Midfielders who arent built well arent always managers' cups of tea but just because Baybrooke didn't start regularly in the Scottish league doesnt mean he cant flourish at a higher level with a manager that puts faith in him.
  15. Jeremy monga news is huge. No mention of a new contract for Jake Evans though? Should we be worried that he might leave?
  16. This is exactly what we deserve to be honest. How many years have we been in the red regarding PSR and these idiots still sign Skipp for £25mil, bring Edouard on crazy wages, sign Winks and Coady on crazy wages, renew Vestergaard's contact etc. If a financial clamp is the only way the club are going to be forced to cut down on the wage bill then I'm all for it. We're genuinely better off without all these overpaid tossers anyway.
  17. Rudkin and Whelan are the equivalent of Danny Simpson. They were in the right place at the right time and managed to get an incredible achievement on their CV. Similar to how no team will ever rely on a Danny Simpson type player to win the PL again, Rudkin and Whelan are clearly below the level required to make us competitive in the Premier league again. They got lucky, we got lucky, it was a perfect storm and we benefited off of it for the following few years with a lot of scouting talent coming to the club. Once they got a whiff of Rudkin being out of his depth and not properly utilising the scouting department to its potential we had an exodus of talented scouts and mid level decision makers. Now what we are left with is completely dysfunctional to the point where I dont mind if we dont sign players this summer because im resigned to them being dead wood on arrival like the last few windows.
  18. Why not both? come on Martin you dolt, do your magic!
  19. Agree to disagree. Vestergaard is not 'unmatched' at slinging balls through the lines, if he was unmatched then he might be worth something to a good team despite his defensive woes. There are many defenders across Europe that progress the ball up the field significantly better than him. What looks special when he does it is standard for a lot of players. Look at the Everton game highlights, if Vestergaard pulls off that Tarkowski pass then that would be his best pass of the season and Tarkowski is known as a below average passer in the PL. Being able to accurately hit a long diagonal to a forward on the other hand is fairly rare and more valuable. If you gave Van Dijk vestergaard's defensive abilities then he would still get suitors for his passing alone.
  20. Lmao, no he's not better than Van Dijk on the ball. Van Dijk can actually play accurate long balls and is famous for hitting the diagonal ball to Salah. I cant remember the last time Vestergaard played our wingers into a dangerous position.
  21. Anyone who doesnt think this bloke is nowhere near the level required is clueless. Look at the lump in these goals for gods sake. At some point it has to stop being 'he's not being played in the right setup' and more that he doesnt have the attributes to be a competitive centre back. He's not even half as good on the ball as our fans like to make out either.
  22. We will struggle to find a buyer for more than £6mil. That's a lot of money for the clubs that will be looking at him.
  23. Cherki also started playing regularly for Lyon at 16. The best players nowadays just tend to start playing first team football at a young age.
  24. July the year before they got relegated. Famously came in and sacked Eustace 6 games into the season then signed big name Rooney. They throw a lot of money around but I wouldnt call them good owners just yet.
  25. Pretty sure it was under the American owners that they got relegated to league one.
