  1. Let's be clear, Russel Martin is not a promotion specialist. He finished 4th with a top 2 squad last time in the championship and finished 10th and 15th with Swansea who were pushing playoffs before he came in. He is a below average championship manager who only gets interest because he plays 'the right way'. I genuinely back Van Nistelrooy to gain promotion next season more than I would do Martin.
  2. If they keep their players then they will walk the championship.
  3. Sheffield Wednesday we're on track to be the worst championship side ever before Rohl came in and he's kept them up twice and even gotten them top half. He has done an incredible job with a mediocre squad.
  4. Different situations. When Cleverley leaves Watford they will still be a midtable championship/playoff hopeful team, when Rohl leaves Wednesday they will be relegated.
  5. Of the managers who have been linked this is my preference: 1) Danny Rohl . . . . 2) RVN . 3) Dyche . . . . . . . . . . 4) Martin
  6. Kroupi jr will start over Evanilson. Very special talent.
  7. Hopefully this is just agent talk. Despite being 16 with his numbers in u21 football we would be looking for a good championship loan if we were still in the PL. Considering we are actually in the championship he should be an important part of the squad next season.
  8. If youre only looking at Ruud's time in the PL with us then you might as well look at only Martin's time in the PL with Southampton. Ruud comes out on top, which tells you something considering the records we broke.
  9. Russell Martin is known at Swansea and Southampton for switching to a winning formula to save his job when it's going wrong then changing back to his idealistic way of playing football when he's in the clear. He is so adverse to change that he knows what tactics will win his team games and will consciously choose to not play that way as long as he's not at risk of being sacked. He will never change as he is too married to his ideals.
  10. A fan forum of generative AI posts is probably what the club deserves at this point.
  11. It's not just the style though, it's the mentality that comes with it. There's nothing worse than a manager who ingrains a style where the team are scared to take risks in the opposition third and are more willing to take them in their own penalty box. Then the inevitable stray pass in the box happens and the opposition score a goal and it just crushes the players because there is no worse way to concede. Martin won't take any responsibility for the struggles of the team either, like Brendan he is known for being elite at weaseling his way out of the firing line when the team is doing poorly. Genuinely no football fan deserves to have a manager like Russel Martin, his archetype of manager is the worst around and he embodies it perfectly.
  12. He's the worst option we have. Keep Ruud, crawl back on our hand's and knees for Cooper, do anything but bring in the BTEC Brendan Rodgers. We saw how much destruction the actual one dealt to the club and Martin is a worse version of that.
  13. To be fair Nuno has a dropped down below his level as a manager with Wolves before
  14. It's like going hungry but choosing not to eat gravel off the pavement. Yes we're in a poor position but Martin will only make it worse.
  15. Genuinely think i dont watch a game next season if we bring in Martin. The exact archetype of manager that I just despise.
  16. As much as I like him it's another 30+ year old 'PL experienced' player. We need to stop bringing in these sorts of players.
  17. He's one of those players that keeps surprising. Didn't expect him to ever play for us in the championship, didn't expect him to become an established first teamer, didn't expect him to score in the Prem. Fair play to him.
  18. I dont see what everyone else is seeing to be honest. Maddison used to get dogs abuse for slowing down play and playing for fouls like Ayew does but for some reason it's considered good play when Ayew does it. Just shows how 'beige' players like Ayew are viewed differently to players with actual ability due to not having as much expectations on him.
  19. Cooper was worse than Ruud so what does that make him? Cooper was lucky that out of the 12 games he played 2 of them were against Ipswich and Southampton which inflated his points total. Against genuine PL quality opposition he was absolutely useless and what made him worse than Van Nistelrooy is that he had two of our better players, Ricardo and Fatawu, sat on the bench. Had Cooper stayed for the rest of the season we would be on a much lower points tally.
  20. No Fuchs either I think? Or Ulloa?
  21. Forgetting Evans? There's a reason he's already getting minutes for us at 16.
  22. i like how he constantly looks to take players on
  23. If it's van nistelrooy or rohl I would go for rohl, if the alternative is martin or dyche then id stick with van nistelrooy
  24. Just play him against Bournemouth ffs, seems stupid not to.
