What a relief!

Make the choice leicester. On one hand you have the blue pill - you give Che Adams and Josh Brownhill fat retirement contracts but you lose Evans and Page, you may get promoted off the back of it but it's a small upturn at best before you slowly fall down the English pyramid. On the other hand you have the red pill - you back the youngsters, bin off the experienced old farts and give Louis Page and Jake Evans decent contracts that are a fraction of what you would give Brownhill and Adams and you stay in wonderland, I'll show you how high up the football pyramid you can go.

We have a very bloated squad full of senior players who arent good enough for the PL but are too good for the championship. If we need to rotate our best youth we can do it with senior players like Ayew, Daka, Mavididi, Cordova Reid, Mcateer or with other young lesser talents like Joseph, Wanya, Josh King etc. Im still a fan of Baybrooke and Cartwright for midfield who didn't even play the other day. I just cant see a reason why we need to add Brownhill and Adams onto an already bloated wage bill and squad.

I think we just have to agree to disagree which as you mentioned is rare. I just dont see a reason for us signing another 'he will do a job in the championship' player who is supposedly at their peak but is struggling to find a club that wants them. In my opinion we need to be running things the right way first and success will soon follow. It just seems like the club is constantly gambling on older players on high wages for short term success and it's consistently not paid off, Che Adams would be a continuation of that strategy, would you genuinely still want him on the books next season if we were promoted, or 3 years down the line? It's very much a mentality of 'if he scrapes us to promotion the wages and fees would pay for themselves' or 'if he keeps us up then the wages and fees would have been worth it'. Constantly scraping by with minimal long term planning will get us nowhere.

I would look around online to see what Southampton and Scottish fans think of him. It will likely change your opinion. In terms of Evans he's got good hold up play, good ball carrying, good passing, good finishing, he's got almost everything i would want from a striker coming in so I dont understand why our fans are overlooking him as an option. I think he's good enough as he is now. If he was a youngster at Man United or Chelsea and we were loaning him in sure our fans would be ecstatic.

I never claimed they were all nailed on England internationals but all 3 are on track currently. At the very least we shouldnt bring in Josh Brownhill and Che Adams to play ahead of them, it would be very short sighted and im not even sure the former 2 are even the better players currently despite the age gap.

Monga, Page and Evans. Monga was playing well at PL level at 15, only Nwaneri in his age group has done similar, I think it's a safe bet he will be in the England XI when he's older outside of injuries. Page is very highly rated in the England youth set up and impressed the other day. Evans was one of the best goalscorers at u21 level last year despite being 16, he's clearly advanced far beyond his age but doesnt get the hype he deserves on here, was very impressed by his hold up play the other day. Would much rather start with him up front next season than Che Adams at the very least.

I think it's some form of impostor syndrome. It's genuinely unfathomable to some that we have multiple youngsters who are good enough to become England first team regulars in the future that are also good enough to be starters in the championship at only 16 years of age. So they're desperately clutching to 'sensible transfer' 29 year olds who have peaked at championship level to ground themselves back in 'little old leicester' territory. The self destruction at this club from ownership to fans is really bad.

People would seriously take Josh Brownhill and Che Adams? Che Adams is NOT rated by Southampton fans in the slightest, why do our fans think they know him better? He's also 29 and going to be looking for moderately high wages, we need to learn our lesson on these players. Josh Brownhill is the same, 29 and looking for one last big contract. Do our fans not see the ability the likes of Monga, Page and Alves have? All who are looking to break through in Brownhill's position, imagine we lose out on the opportunity to develop some of England's best talents (yes you heard that correctly, Page and Monga are undeniably two of England's biggest talents) for Josh Brownhill. It's almost like half the posters on here are Rudkin in disguise. Coady, Winks, Corodva Reid, Ayew were all touted as 'sensible' transfers on here not long ago, now we cant wait to see the back of them. We need to be draining the swamp to give a pathway to our academy talents, not filling it up. Also Brownhill is nowhere near the level of KDH, who still got pelters on here in the 23/24 season for his inconsistent touch. KDH is a far better ball carrier and passer, I think our fans will be surprised by how limited Brownhill is in comparison.

It's pretty typical in workplaces in general that people who arent good at their role look to fill others as well. If someone thinks it's acceptable to do a surface level job then it's easier to cover a lot of surfaces whereas someone who is thorough is constantly analysing what they can improve on in their current role wouldnt even think of picking up extra work elsewhere.

This, we're at a point where we're better off not making any signings. Would rather just use the summer budget getting rid of Faes, Coady, Winks, Ayew, Cordova Reid, Kristiansen etc.

I am absolutely dreading Ayew and Cordova Reid coming back into the mix. They have no place in this squad of exciting high energy wingers, much rather even our B tier academy wingers like Joseph, Wanya or even Josh King get minutes instead. Not to mention the horrors of them stealing minutes from our best talents like Monga, Evans and Alves purely on the basis of 'experience'. Same goes for Skipp and Winks (and sadly Ndidi) vs Page or even Baybrooke and Cartwright who didn't play the other day. -

10 is supposed to be an attacking midfielder i think. 9 would be a striker. -

Played striker today. Personally see that being his position long term. -

Evans is a really good prospect for a striker. -

OK, he's going nowhere? Fine he can go nowhere whilst sitting at home. It's a sunk cost fallacy to put him on the pitch again for us at this point, he is so far below the level we need. Again he is very much akin to Ward where even though he cost us a wedge it only hurts us more to play him. Im not judging him off last season either, it was common knowledge amongst Spurs fans that Skipp lost a lot of his footballing ability following his injuries yet we still went out and bought him for a hefty fee. -

Good shout on Rangers, he is the quintessential Russel Martin player. -

There is a very good reason and it's the fact that he's had injuries since that loan that he never recovered from. If you think Skipp can do a job for us you are in cuckoo land! Use you eyes rather than basing your opinion off a loan 5 years ago, he is nowhere near the level of the rest of our players. It's almost Danny Ward-esque how he isn't fit to be on the pitch. -

He was terrible at the end of the 23/24 season and was honking against QPR last season despite our 6-2 win. There is no guarantee he will have a good spell in the championship for us again. Winks has been awful for us for too long for us to just assume he will recreate his early form with us. Compared to his overall time here he has only been good for a short window of it. -

Fully agree! Sadly as you can see by the reaction to Winks's performance today some of our fans praise the ground he walks on for barely doing the basics. Simply put, he he is nowhere near good enough. -

They are both shite! But somehow Winks keeps on getting free passes and Soumare gets piled on. It doesnt make sense to me -

How Winks is worshipped by our fanbase and Soumare is hounded never ceases to amaze me. Simply just because of a decent spell in the championship people are blinded to the fact Soumare is the superior footballer (and im not even a fan of Soumare). Winks is actually a poor player if he was looked at in the same lens that Soumare is. -

Winks was good for the first 2/3 of the season under Maresca but let's not forget how bad he was at the end of it. He was honking in the Prem last season as well. Skipp is a write off plain and simple, the only reason he's been given so many chances is because of his price tag. He shouldn't get minutes for us again. Compare him to someone like Page, who is only 16 btw, and it's chalk and cheese. -

Winks ffs, there's a reason the ball didn't progress throught midfield when he was on. He's been terrible for us for over a season now.
