I did say that money and prestige played a factor. It's just that we're also not giving ourselves the best chance of making the young players want to be at the club.

Should have played 20 more games for us already. Should play 30+ games for us this season. There is a huge gap between what should be happening at the club and what is actually happening at the club at the moment. As it currently stands there's a lot of uncertainty around how much game time he would get with us at the moment.

Evans, Hutchinson, Gray, Carr will move onto better things soon as well after clearly not being in the plans. Braybrooke will be looking at the squad around him and thinking he can do better as well. It's going to be a tough 2-3 seasons

Maybe not but we would have had a better chance if we had made him feel like a valued member of the squad. The only draw we have over clubs higher in the pyramid is a route to regular first team football but we don't operate that way. Forgetting the money and prestige of Man United, Page probably has a better chance of game time by going there and getting a loan than he does by sticking it out here.

We can't moan about the system when we feed it by loaning Mukasa from Man City and sending our own talent back to the U21s. This is just karma for the club.

Cullen is not even vaguely comparable to Maddison. Even when adjusting for the quality of the level we are playing at.

Cullen gives us the blend of experience and youth we need in the team. When things go wrong you need players who have been there before and aren't going to lose their heads.

It's a shame Briggs can't play against us. Would have been interesting to see how he stacks up against the likes of Cullen and BDCR.

Burns is joining a league one side for £75k. Fatawu is replacing him at a PL side after a £20mil transfer.

I like "intelligence of his play" from Casablancas considering his entire game plan when he got the ball was to look for contact and fall over.

It is just objectively wrong that everyone was saying he was shit. These were just from the last 4 pages of the Ayew transfer thread. The last page was just the signing breaking and no commentary. I can't find any saying that staying up in the PL would justify the price tag but there were plenty. Very similar logic at to why he's a good signing as this thread as well, hopefully Burns turns out better.

The same was said about how signing Ayew for £5mil was good value because he could be the difference maker for keeping us in the Prem. In football you simply can't make decisions purely on the best case scenario. If Wes Burns does not work out we will be stuck with him on upper end championship wages. No one will want to sign him because of the wages either.

I don't think some of our fans are realistic about how willing the academy players will be willing to stick around either. Why stick around as an afterthought at a league one club when you could join a PL team, go on loan to league one as a key player like Watson then make the step up to a championship loan. Here if our players do have a successful league 1/league 2 loan and we don't get promoted they would still be tied to us in league 1.
