  1. I think most fans like James Justin, even if his last season with us was, lets be honest, shocking. We conceded a lot of goals due to his errors. He's better than Thomas, but selling Justin got us a lot of money for one year of his contract and will allow Aluko to get opportunities and develop.
  2. Dewsbury Hall is a key player for Everton and performed for us before that in the PL and Europe. It's not debatable that he's a PL level player. The level of talent that we are developing now is better than ever before. History is only relevant if nothing has changed but clearly our academy has gotten a lot better in recent years. There's a reason this conversation about bringing through young players is happening now rather than 5 or 10 years ago, it's because they are good enough to warrant that conversation.
  3. Bit of a wild take there considering the likes of Page have looked good at championship level at 17 years old. Would need a serious injury for him to not develop into at least a lower PL player.
  4. Considering that is their speciality perhaps things ended sourly.
  5. We have done very well to sell Hermansen when we did. His confidence and ability have left him since that injury.
  6. Im not saying that first team blunders are on the youth coaches, just examples in general of Leicester coaches getting it wrong whilst the consensus opinion among fans is correct. It's just easier to use examples from the first team as I am more familiar with them but I think the logic applies that the coaches dont always make the right decisions and that just because the coaches have decided to hold Hutchinson back a level doesnt mean it's the right choice.
  7. I have seen him play at Seagrave, he has played well at U21 level when given the opportunity. You surely dont take the opinion of our youth coaches at face value when our first team coaches have made blunder after blunder in recent memory such as playing Danny Ward for half a season ahead of Iversen, Faes and Coady getting favoured over Nelson etc. Blunders that the average fan could see a mile away. They also gave Kirsten Otchere a lot of games time at u21 level who has only just found his footing at that level despite looking far more out of depth initially than Hutchinson has done in his limited minutes. There's a reason that scouts from big clubs are going to our u18 games to watch him.
  8. He's not been unbelievable though has he. I think his effort is commendable but ability wide he is about par for where we are as a team, which is midtable championship behind the likes of Wrexham. Rather him than someone like Winks who drags the team down with his attitude, if we want to push for promotion we would need a player who has both application and ability. Looking at Wrexham they have Ben Sheaf and a 34 yr old Matty James, both of which are probably better than Skipp. Considering we were playing Premier league football last season and they were in league 1 it is an indictment on how our standards have fallen so fast as a club.
  9. Otchere has only just found his footing in u21s football, would be a bit harsh on him in my opinion.
  10. Well that's clearly nonsense because Hutchinson has already played U21s football this season and showed he can play well at that level even when not on the scoresheet. Think someone like Vardy, he's not always involved but when he is he usually makes the right decision.
  11. He was probably being a bit too conservative considering he got a red card in his last start. It just took him some time to regain his confidence and aggression.
  12. His goal tally is impressive but his link up play is almost equally as impressive. Such a well rounded striker for his age.
  13. Coventry have 1 win in 5 league games, they've been falling apart recently.
  14. "maybe Alves isnt very good" maybe it's the managers that dont play him that arent very good. When he plays he tends to impress.
  15. They are all the real deal. Page has been in form recently but Monga, Evans and Aluko are also very talented
  16. I like that when it comes to youth players it's either play them or lose them. If theyre valuable enough that youre fearful of losing them you should be actively looking to integrate them into the side. How many centrebacks did we sign and how much money did we waste on them for Ben Nelson to end up being our only good centre back.
  17. Maybe I shouldnt have said anything but it is objectively correct that he was a Man United fan. It's not like being a boyhood fan gives you any leeway. Luke Thomas is Leicester through and through yet is currently enemy number one in the eyes of fans. Nelson is incredibly talented and from the academy, he shouldn't need to be a boyhood fan for fans to back him fully.

  19. Not to take anything away from him as I personally dont care who he supports but he's a Manchester United fan or at least he was when he was younger. Maybe now he's grown up he's started supporting the team he plays for similar to someone like Carragher but in his own words he's not a lifelong fan, the journalist probably embellished that.
  20. Think he's making a joke that at this point we have forgotten what a striker is, let alone one doing well.
  21. What's worrying is that we are still looking at Ayew type signings in Antonio and Callum Wilson. I wouldnt be shocked if we renew Ayew, seems to be the exact kind of profile we are currently targeting in the transfer market - old and PL experienced. At least Ayew is different from Antonio and Wilson in that he's not a shoe in for be a regular for injuries.
  22. https://streamain.com/en/NVjjiRRRdmjklfM/watch Awful defending. Still 5 goals in a top 5 league halfway through the season is very impressive for a 38 yr old.
  23. He could play very well for the rest of the season and still not match Castledine's 10 goals in 16 games. It's up to Huddersfield fans what metrics they want to judge Alves by but i think it would be a bit unfair to expect the same output.
  24. They will probably get a replacement midfielder, they are already light as it is. If Alves does become their main man hopefully there isnt too much pressure to match Castledine's impressive goals tally.
  25. Streaky player whose main way of scoring goals is capitalising off mistakes made by the opposition's defence. He was always going to score against us
