  1. Please keep the foot on the gas city.
  2. If the system wasn't working and we were tenth say, then fine. But it is and we're not, so what is really the problem? What is the alternative that the apparent footballing theologians in the stands and the forum are suggesting we adopt?
  3. I don't go with the expectation or belief that I will or should be entertained. I judge it largely by if we win or we lose, as I'm sure others do too. This idea that somebody's experience is diminished by the fact that they weren't entertained but we've won, we're top of the league by some margin, kicking teams up and down the league regularly etc I find fatuous and spoilt. There are obviously other external factors as to why I go but I'm talking specifically about the 90 minutes. Adding to that and it's probably another discussion, but the best teams in the world play this way and the teams who aren't don't. It's simple as that for me. We will continue to do it next season and I think it will be successful.
  4. Couldn't agree more. Football is NOT entertainment. Go to the theatre or the cinema if that's what you want.
  5. Will he? I think the majority (the problem) won't even register what's he's said and the minority (those putting the effort in) will galvanise more hopefully.
  6. It also brings into focus this weird thing some fans seem to have that they are entitled to be "entertained." If you want to be entertained, go to the cinema or theatre. I don't believe going the football is entertainment but going by the state of our home support, many have become convinced it is.
  7. The naffest of naff chants.
  8. Something about a journalist using "probs" and "Champs" has gotten on my wick something rotten.
  9. Since they last came I think.
  10. Yeah, that's why they'll be very good.
  11. Their fans will be very good.
  12. Fair play and well done to all. Fan power is alive.
  13. I just don't understand this performative blood thirst to punish what is ultimately the fanbases of these clubs. They have literally no control over any of it. Everton particularly have been vocal about disdain for their ownership more than pretty much any club too so you could hardly level that they are complicit, unlike Newcastle who have pretty much total support for theirs. Perhaps the Premier League/FA should start with more rigorous vetting processes for ownership/financiers.
  14. Sympathy for the fans of lower league clubs when mismanaged by bad owners/financiers but not for Everton's? Why?
  15. Thought he got it completely wrong yesterday second half. Very frustrating even with the red card.
  16. Those noises Neville and Carragher make when something happens in a game. Insufferable, performative piffle.
  17. Certainly one of mine. There was a compilation programme of them at the BBC a few years back which is where I saw this version for the first time. I am always quite surprised to hear how much Stipe dislikes himself in terms of performance. I think this and many others are an example of why he was the probably the best of his generation lyrically and live.
  18. What I mean is the very 'rent-a-chant' style unimaginative opposition chanting. Both Liverpool and Manchester United seem to spend more time singing historical songs about the club/players far much more than pretty much any other team. Same goes for Celtic and Rangers.
  19. I notice this a lot with the bigger and more honoured clubs. You very rarely hear Liverpool or Manchester United fans singing about other teams.
  20. The cynic in me thought just as much. It's a pretty good PR move on the conservatives part pre-election.
  21. It really is a terrible ground when you think about the simple logistic things that make going the game enjoyable. Miles outside of the city centre, no pubs, flat pack ground, silly ticket pricing. You could easily make the case that it's the worst in the football league for fans.
  22. Good grief it must be some Cocktail to carry a price like that!
