Germany vs Denmark - Saturday 29th June
FoxesWalk replied to StanSP's topic in General Football and Sport
International football, the only genuine merit based competition left in the sport, being ruined by fecking VAR. I really do wonder why I keep watching football at times. Club football is in an awful state at the moment, and international football turgid (for England) and being ruined by stupid governance. -
Didn’t take long for me to hate the premier league again. Bring on the super league, what we have now is basically pointless. The illusion of sporting competition.

Wonder if they’re still considering letting Madueke go…

This is England with near zero risk, already through, absolutely nothing to fear, playing with as close to complete freedom as they will get in this tournament… Still shite. -
Pretty much anything that appeals to the right will piss off elements of the left, much of which is fractured and more interested in being correct in their own world view than actually winning an election and being able to enact anything. Those annoyed by this are pretty unlikely to vote Tory anyway, so it’s a relatively low risk strategy when you already have a decent poll lead.
-
It’s just a sound bite to appeal to some on the right of centre socially. He knows to win new votes, to win elections here, you can’t just pacify people that are easy to agree with on the centre/left of centre, but attract those you may not agree with. What he is saying makes no sense if you examine it, but it doesn’t need to, just needs to push the buttons of the people it’s aiming at (ie not me or you).

Literally anyone left footed who isn’t on medical leave. Doughty from Luton possibly, Tyrick Mitchell at Palace. System is more important than the player, someone who can provide natural width, get to the byline and cross rather than coming inside every time. Lief Davis even, I know that’d never happen off the back of a championship season, but the whole left side does not function, and it’s the fault of selection, we’d be better off with Davis than Trippier. -

This is so bad. For reference, englands rate of creating xG in the Euros is worse than Sheffield United last season on average. Literally bottom of the league stuff, with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of attackers. -

Yunus has started very well here -
Too cynical/conspiratorial to suggest this was leaked to a journo around the same time as the ticket price increases?

Austria will make it through that group comfortably if they play like that -

He’s fine in the centre in the right system. Playing him as a wide CB is a bit odd, massively exposing his main and very obvious weakness and pitting him against wingers/wide forwards… typically the fastest players on a pitch. -
It doesn’t take that long, he only collects Top’s

This is gonna be 6 or 7 isn’t it… -
I fancy Portugal to win it, despite the Ronaldo handicap. Squad is very strong in all positions.

Was reading comments from some of the Irish fans, seems he left a good impression, number of them saying he was their best player on the night once he came on.

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wasserman/beraterfirma/berater/440 still listed as a client here, as are other connected coaches, like Oscar Garcia 😅

Google tells me that he is the voice of Andy from Toy Story. I’d get behind Buzz Lightyear tbf, would command respect given the ages of the majority of our squad. edit: just seen this https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/01/how-to-become-a-football-agent-9836160/ Didn’t realise how connected he was to us, from Vardy to Brendan, but Enzo is also in his agency. And he has represented Potter in getting the Brighton job…
-
Percy article names only Potter and Corberan as people we are actually talking to…
-
This shit again. Almost hope he leaves just so I don’t have to listen to or read the same thing yet again.

Yeah 🤣 I’m willing to bend all logic for that man. Ten more years? Player manager? Statue? Unlimited red bull? Whatever he wants, whenever he wants it. He is THE exception to end all exceptions when it comes to our club,
-
I’m a big Vesty fan but even I think three years is a bit mental. One year with the option for another is what I was expecting (in Enzos system)… here’s hoping the wage is reasonable (fat chance of that, I know) IMO no extensions should be given out before we have a new manager in, with the possible exception of Vards.
