  1. Was he not one of the first players to come out after last season and say he wanted to play for us in the championship? Seem to recall he did, and that he left after Enzo came in and insisted on inversion or playing as a CB
  2. Got a photo of yours? I was about to buy one of these
  3. Can’t see anything aside from a drubbing to be honest. Usually fairly optimistic but setup to fail for first month realistically. Try to keep it to less than 3 for sake of goal difference…
  4. Zero chance that is true. They’ll go for Eze if anyone imo.
  5. My Bundesliga-watching German mate says… “busy player but not a good finisher”
  6. Hard to see anything other than a battering here tbh. The lightning speed of Rudkin means we have forfeit the first 3-4 games realistically, get anything from them it’ll be a bonus. I’m looking at that Everton game at home or into October for our 1st win, optimistically…
  7. Well he said we haven’t bid, which would mean Percy is wrong, so I’m gonna go ahead and doubt his accuracy.
  8. Underrated factor, in my opinion, is that he is a leader. One of his clubs leadership group, from some of the clips looks like he is the captain at least some of the time.
  9. He’d be mental to come here, but this is probably the best we can hope for as a 9, realistically. It will be a loan with no option though.
  10. Blaming Copper achieves nothing, he hasn’t managed a competitive game yet. The problems we have existed before he arrived. He hasn’t made any progress in solving them yet, but also hasn’t been given any tools to do so. Our board/ownership is inept and are the rightful targets of our frustration and anger.
  11. 4 of those players have any notable senior experience in a top league. I’m looking for players ready for first team premier league football. In an attacking sense we are absolutely bare bones in terms of quality players with any sort of experience. I know Alves is the great hope we all hope can save us, but he may also not be ready… We urgently need reinforcements at 8, 10 and 9. Those players need to be ready to go now, arguably they need to be sufficiently good quality that they become 3 of our best players straight away. I personally think we need a minimum of 2x 8/10s (creative or front foot midfielders) and 2x strikers with Canon going out on loan. Daka is not good enough and injured, and Vardy isn’t going to be more than a bit part player sadly. 4 quality additions minimum. Do I think we will do that? No.
  12. We have 4CDMs, 3 wingers and no fit strikers with notable senior experience (Canon is clearly leaving, and imo isn’t good enough to lead the line in the prem). That is it. Those are our ‘attacking’ options, very generous since 4 of them are defensive players (are Winks, Soumaré, Ndidi or Hamza attackers?) that offer no creativity. We essentially have 3 fit players ready for the premier league in an attacking sense (Fatawu, Mav, BDR), and even some of those are debatable. I do not consider the likes of McAteer or Alves “ready” for the premier league, through lack of experience or being technically poor in the case of the former. We are comically ****ed. Obviously Buonanate has just signed, but haven’t seen anything of him yet. Maybe he’s the next Messi. No pressure, but that’s the sort of impact we need In terms of the core of our attacking squad ready for the prem prior to yesterday: #8: None #10: None Wingers: Mav, Fatawu, BDR #9: None I hope that Alves will be an option at 10 in the not too distant future, but I’ve never seen him play a minute of competitive senior football for us. Canon is leaving and not good enough, Daka and McAteer not good enough, Vardy too old to be anything more than a bit part player. We need an 8, 10 and 9 of first team premier league quality. After there are actually some players to make a system with, I’ll judge Cooper. We are setup for failure by an inept board.
  13. We are in a worse position than Sheffield United. Sold manager, back room staff and best player. Lost majority of Vardy’s goals realistically and not replaced them, not replaced KDH. Those two things need doing plus a new manager just get us back to where we were a year ago, and we haven’t even done that, never mind make any positive progress. This squad wouldn’t get promoted from the championship. We were already massively short of creative midfielders and we had 0 (zero) with senior experience until Buonanate signed yesterday. Hope he is ready to shoulder the entire creative burden in our squad….
  14. He’d be our best player if we sign him. Not that we have a midfield to create anything for him or any other forwards.
  15. Same, I wanted Corberan (who clearly we didn’t want to/couldnt pay the release fee for). Whoever was appointed should be staying to get us out of the championship under an embargo. That is where we are going to be in 1 year. Cooper is in, and he isn’t going anywhere unless he somehow signed a deal that says we can sack him for free, so better off giving him the benefit of the doubt in a situation virtually no manager would make a success of. I don’t see us having sustained period in the Prem again until the club is sold and the board is replaced.
  16. People directing their frustration at Cooper, when he is probably the part of the club least to blame for the current predicament, are yet to (or are unable to) accept this.
  17. It’s hard not to feel massively sorry for Cooper. Can hear the frustration in his voice, he knows we are nowhere close to having the squad to survive. Those above him are incompetent and that is nothing new to us. We are thoroughly unprepared for the season ahead. We need at least 4 first team quality players in key positions to stand any chance and that simply isn’t going to happen. We are missing 30-40+ goals from the squad as it stands, no chance we bring enough quality in given who is responsible for doing that, imo. That is if we even could afford to, which we can’t, because those above Cooper have been irresponsible and incompetent for years. If we bring in one player who is notably better than everyone else in our squad I’ll be astounded. I maintain it doesn’t matter who the manager is this season. Build for the championship, we are down regardless. Enzo would be in exactly the same position, playing a brand of football very likely to lead to relegation regardless (see: Kompany).
  18. With the players available to us, how would any manager put out a team with premier league quality chance creation and conversion? There are no creative midfielders with senior experience (okay today we signed Buonanate; but until today there have been none), and no viable striker to lead the line in the Premier League. With the players we have at our disposal prior to today, what option is there? We simply don’t have the players. This squad is not even upper Championship quality now with losses and aging considered. We are in deep trouble, and it’s not because of the manager. I was a fan of Enzo, but I don’t think he would have kept us up playing the only system he is willing to play, especially with this squad.
  19. Realistically, we could have Pep and finish bottom given the mess the rest of the club is in. Don’t know what people expected after selling our manager, back room staff and best player in the off season, killing any momentum. Basically done what Sheffield United did last season and have no money to rebuild the squad. We have zero non-CDM central midfielders with senior experience, and no viable striker. There is next to no creativity and next to no goal threat in the squad.
  20. “I hope daka is seriously injured” “sack Cooper before the season starts” “Ndidi is 47 years old”
  21. Is there another CDM we can bring on for Daka?
  22. Some unhinged takes, even for this place, before a ball has been kicked in anger
  23. Solanke is a great signing for Spurs imo. Presses extremely well, takes chances, suits Ange style perfectly. Can see them challenging higher up the table if they keep some of their key players fit. It fell apart for them a bit last season when Udogie and Van der Ven got injured. Ben Davies and Emerson Royal just not good enough to perform the roles required in that system.
  24. If we do this deal then we can only sign one of Bilal Toure and Buonanote, correct? Two simultaneous loans at any one time in the prem?
  25. What are the rules on loans for us? We’ve been linked by Tier 1 sources to loan deals for Zaha, Bilal Toure and Buonanate. Can we do all of those deals? I thought you could only have 2 loans at any one time in the prem?
