  1. I think you've missed off her surname. Amanda T'shavingyouon.
  2. Isn't that practically a Man U 1970's away shirt? And 1990's.
  3. Whilst the underdog tag does have it's roots in history, a large part of it is the strength of the Chelsea squad, and therefore their bench too. First XI, I think I almost agree with you, we're close to an even match. The option to bring 3 match changing players off the bench is a luxury Chelsea have that we don't. Our likely biggest attacking substitution if in trouble will be Maddison for Perez, or vice versa, if Chelsea are trailing, they may be able to turn to Giroud, Ziyech, Pulisic, Werner, Harvertz, Mount etc depending on who starts. Much as I hate to say it, that's quite an advantage. Doesn't guarantee anything though. In summary, let's be 3-0 up before they engage their subs, that should do it.
  4. What an odd coincidence that possibility is even on the cards. That stat does make you want to lament our home form this season...pointless though that would be.
  5. Isn't it. Even as his career heads into its twilight, he's still adding to his incredible tale. The bloke's a script writers dream. A bona fide 'can you believe this story' story. Brilliant.
  6. I logged off for the 2nd half. The first half in there was unbearable. Not only were people moaning about the match being played, they'd already decided we'd lost that and would be embarrassed in cup final too. All after about 35 minutes. We weren't great in the first half, and often stats don't tell the whole story, but the possession was 51/49. one shot on target each (presumably the two goals!) and City had 2 other efforts whilst Man U had a big fat zero. It was a pretty even first half, despite the massive over-reaction by many. Yeah, it wasn't their first team, but it wasn't 11 mugs. What right do we have to play any Man U XI off their own pitch and walk it? None. The entitlement was off the scale.
  7. The bedwetters in the match thread at half time were ridiculous. Massive 3 points.
  8. You're looking for the 'sensible' thread mate. This is the match thread.
  9. Here's an idea, switch to supporting Chelsea mate. ffs.
  10. I reckon Maguire might be quicker if he played in that boot he's wearing tonight.
  11. At the end of the season, you get what you deserve. Let's just hope the club deserve an FA cup winners medal and a Champions League place when the fat lady sings. Strap in everyone, let's hope tonight is fun.
  12. We may be proven wrong in 15 minutes, but I think we may set up with a back 4 too.
  13. The bookies haven't seen our last two matches?
  14. In any other match, I'd lump on Man U with those odds, regardless of their starting XI.
  15. That Man U bench That said, we've been given an opportunity here to redeem ourselves for the last two matches. Over to you lads.
  16. Fair play. You got me I'd personally be surprised with Farrell starting at 12. That said, one thing I do know is that Gatland rarely gets his team selections very wrong in the big matches, whether for Wasps, Wales or the Lions over the years. He's not infallible of course, but you'd back him more often than not. I do think they can put a great XV out from that squad, the rest is down to WG and his coaches. I can't wait. SA so difficult to overcome at home though.
  17. I'm a little surprised by Farrell and astounded by Daly, but I guess both are utility players who may come in very handy in what will be a bruising set of fixtures. In my opinion (which doesn't count for much with no experience in rugby and being just a casual fan), there's probably arguments against 5 of the English players picked, but there doesn't look any names there that will let Gatland down, unless he goes insane overnight and starts Daly at full back of course. Do you honestly think it's a shambles? If so, I'd be interested to know why. That's a genuine question by the way, I'm not looking for a joust. It's almost an even split between the nations, which I suppose is as 'Lions' as it could get. Just to be clear, England were utterly terrible in the 6 nations. I'd be a fool trying to deny that. I just thought the balance looked alright in the squad. As I said though, I'm no expert.
  18. OGS simply can't afford the possibility of a mistake really. They'd have to really balls it up against a pretty average Roma side (at this level, at least), but he just can't risk it. Lets hope they see the Liverpool match as far more important than the game against us 2 days before and we somehow benefit from the postponed match. That said, we're not small fry any longer, so they'll want to win them all.
  19. Are they large enough to hinder your vision? Impressive. I'm going to stick to the traditional looking through my fingers for most of the match.
  20. Rodgers knows the player, the player knows Rodgers. If the prices being bandied about for the two are even close to being accurate, Edouard seems the better bet. Should Rodgers go for him, it's based on his experience of the player and what BR thinks he can do in the Premier League. Toney, at possibly twice the price, is a much bigger risk as the manager doesn't know him at all. He's also untried at the highest level, whilst Edouard has faced defenders in the Champions League. That experience has to be beneficial. Given the above, if Rodgers does go for Toney, it'll be because ha has a lot of faith it will come off. If there's a £15-£20m difference in the fees, I'd take Edouard. Rodgers is a bit better manager than me though, so whoever he goes for, I'll trust in his experience.
