Cricket (None Leicestershire County Cricket Club)

Congratulations to India. Neither team found batting particularly easy in the last 3 tests but India had someone stand up every time and get crucial runs. Rohit, Pant, Ashwin, Sundar, not the usual suspects either. That 1st test seems a long time ago. Depending on the wicket at Lords, the final could be very interesting. -

Depends what you want individually out of a test match probably. The more margin they give to the bowlers, the shorter tests will often be. Some of the spinners wickets these days leave you wondering exactly how much to knock off bygone players averages. Ultimately, it's better than batsmen thrusting their pad forward with their bat tucked behind it for hours. -

Looks like you won't need it to spin too much. Standard 1st innings from England. Relying on the lower order to ensure the test match extends beyond about 3 days already -
Completely sold the Burnley player with that turn.

Shouldn't score such a belter and still end up disappointed. That's a real shame. Can't see the logic in him being subbed tonight.

Dunny on the? -
I'm guessing there'll be lots of w(h)ine on the match thread. Think we've performed manfully after giving away such a kick in the teeth opener. Kasper has been magnificent tonight so far.

Disproving the theory that there's always an exception to the rule. -

If Peter Schmeichel pulled off 3 saves as good as that in 1 game in his entire career, I didn't see it. Simply magnificent from Kasper. -

Was his personal reason the strip for the 4th test I wonder I've been reading the posts on here and clearly you're an Indian fan, what type of pitch do you think we'll get for the last test? It's clear a heavily spinning track will favour India, as England have never played spin well, but is there a chance of a bit of a road being produced? Or is that unlikely this time of year in that area? Either way, I think India have too much quality for us and it's likely to be 3-1. -
Another footballing great gone.

Great post. Very sad news in general, but especially so for all of us of a certain vintage. -

We've put in a few 9p performances to be honest. -
Under is a difficult one. I'll admit, for a while, I was a little dazzled by some of his fleet footwork and his propensity to at least have a pop at goal when in range. He seemed more of a goal threat than both Perez and Iheanacho at that stage (admittedly, Iheanacho was have a little rough patch). Whilst he's hardly had a decent run in the team, the odd games he's started, he simply hasn't taken his chance. I can't see any way we'll keep him even if Roma half the transfer fee. Shame, as I was hopeful at the start, but he just hasn't shown enough in the sporadic chances he's had.

I said in the pre match thread I was nervous, and so it proved. Very disappointing performance but I'm not going to get hysterical over it, it's gone. Time to fully concentrate on the league and FA cup. Our injuries, and therefore overplaying some of our best players, were always going to catch up with us.

1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die
Duquesne Whistle replied to Lizzy's topic in Music and Gaming
I've tried and tried to get into PJ Harvey over the years and I just can't. I actually can't put a finger on why either. Her fans love her with a passion though, so I'm definitely missing something. -

I would put those two in my top 5 too. I think lots of Dylan fans would have those 3 albums right up there. When I come across Dylan fans, I always find it interesting which albums they like outside their top 5 or 10. Often, it's an album you're not overly keen on yourself and it forces me to take another listen. Sometimes that's good and I completely change my opinion. Sometimes it isn't Time Out Of Mind is one of his better later albums, it's right up there, though it's not a particularly cheery listen. There's many 'honourable mentions' when it comes to his albums. I think you'd struggle to get too many agreeing on his top 10 even, such has been his output. -

If you're going to quote that line, you have to quote these for full effect! ''Idiot wind Blowing like a circle around my skull From the Grand Coulee Dam to the Capitol Idiot wind Blowing every time you move your teeth You're an idiot babe It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe'' As blokes, we've all been there on occasion There's a lot to choose from, but it's my favourite Dylan album. Idiot Wind still makes me chuckle. I think he was/had just gone/going through a separation and it showed in some of his lyrics. -
Do you think Nuno would stifle Ward's assists should Wolves sign him?
