  1. Fuming that Haaland isn’t even in the squad. One final middle finger from Pep for all of his lineup tinkering over the years.
  2. Looks like several unreleased performances from last weekend are out on YouTube. The Help bit with Will Ferrell is a play from a famous comedy sketch from decades ago, with Christopher Walken. Also, Paul was the final guest on last night’s Colbert show from the Ed Sullivan Theater. So much can be said about the circumstances surrounding the final performance and the cancellation of that show, but what a treat it is for Paul to still be making music. Can’t help but smile.
  3. Paul played 3 songs (all Wings and solo material) on Saturday Night Live last night, still sounding good. Chad Smith on drums was a neat touch, especially if you know anything of the history between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, who hosted the show.
  4. West Ham sitting in with a back 6 just before the goal, somewhere Steve Bruce is beaming with delight.
  5. Danny Ward as your starting keeper with something on the line, we could have told them how the script ended.
  6. Interesting…ESPN2 is carrying it down here.
  7. The extended sessions are great for splitting each week's recording into multiple days, and bookending it around yesterday's match was well-timed. Found catharsis in listening to the callers on this morning's commute, plus another deserved @Ric Flair rant about desiring a clean slate, but still not being able to let go. Shame for the distraction from the rest of our lives that this football thing is supposed to be for us. Excellent callers, great song parodies- keep up the good work!
  8. Second consecutive spring listening to the gem…for all the wrong reasons.
  9. Poetic, in more ways than one. Especially since he starts with the line "There won't be any money."
  10. As an NJ resident and fan who feels priced out from attending the World Cup, I'm totally on board with this. IMO, Most of the hotel and tourist windfall will go to New York, while the stadium is in New Jersey and transportation is managed by a New Jersey rail service. Even though New Jersey Transit is not exactly loved (go and read about 2019 Wrestlemania at the same venue), the "World Cup will stimulate the economy" argument is not of concern to me, and is easily diminished when compared with the public dollars already being invested in it. More from the governor, here.
  11. Oh my, full capitulation
  12. Ben White miscue will work just fine!
  13. Some excellent casks over the last few days in Marylebone. Barley Mow and Jackalope had the standout selections, and overall great venues.
  14. Stags Head is closed for Good Friday, so I’m not watching this. Plus, the missus didn’t want to bother a trip up to Leicester for a relegation scrap. A blessing in disguise!
  15. Bumping this, might look to duck into the Stags Head this afternoon.
  16. London (Marylebone) next week. Got tickets for Interstellar with live orchestra at Royal Albert Hall. Plenty of pubs, got a nice dinner booked. One or two touristy items for the missus. Not the most exciting itinerary on paper, but after a bumpy couple of years for her, it's a destination she likes, with a favored hotel and lots of familiarity. Very much looking forward to it. Maybe check out the Stag's Head for next Friday's match, if that's still the preferred destination?
  17. This thread history is proving most useful in planning our trip to London next week. Will be in Marylebone for the first time in a few years, and a return visit to the Barley Mow is already planned. Thanks to all who have made other suggestions!
  18. It’s that Maddison against Everton feeling
  19. As a classically trained musician, it's a remarkable art form. The set design, construction, costuming is a whole separate world, never mind the world's best vocalists who can sing unamplified for hours, in front of thousands. We attend several symphony concerts each year. Every time I go with my wife, friends, etc, they always walk away in awe. To see someone moved to tears, simply because of an aural experience, it's remarkable.
  20. Seeing Interstellar with the Royal Philharmonic at Royal Albert Hall in early April.
  21. Been watching this too, the club told me first week of March, when I inquired.
  22. Lots of good advice already here. I would offer that the Statue of Liberty experience has lessened over time, but Ellis Island and the Intrepid are both good. If you want to see a theater show, check out the TKTS booth in Times Square for discounted, day-of tickets. Definitely temper your expectations for mass transit...the Tube is head and shoulders above NYC mass transit.
  23. Lots of thoughts, curious for where you’re staying and for what you’re looking for? Outdoors, live entertainment, etc. It’s a big place. World Cup isn’t being played in NYC proper (stadium is across the river in NJ), but there will be plenty of action in NYC for it.
