  1. Credit to Ange, strong lineup and enjoying the occasion. Encouraging the home fans to keep up the banter while they fixed the net was nice to see.
  2. Graphics team firing on all cylinders for the Tamworth match.
  3. Not even close to the ball, wow
  4. Some kind of first half on FoxesTalk
  5. Anyone else with ESPN+ having to restart their stream? Slows to a crawl after a few minutes
  6. Can’t decide if I’m laughing because it would be brilliant, or if it’s because I’m thinking of all the failed rocket launch videos and the parallels with how it would look on the pitch.
  7. His whole Nutcracker Suite excellent, but this is my favorite.
  8. College soccer is a blip on the sports radar over here, but this is a pretty cool story. University of Vermont won the NCAA Division 1 Championship last night on a golden goal. Beat the #2 and #3 seeded teams to make the finals, and won the championship.
  9. Not much reporting about it, but it’s out there. Here’s a good (if not long) breakdown on all the NJ sightings and government response. Suffice to say, our state doesn’t have the best track record of handling mass hysteria from above.
  10. It’s all that people are talking about here, but the reactions are intensifying into more and more outlandish takes. I’ve been sent videos from friends that look and sound like commercial aircraft over their houses. Though I haven’t seen anything myself, commercial flights aren’t being impacted, and pilots don’t seem bothered. Deductive reasoning says that the government likely knows what it is, and it’s likely something of their own creation that’s being tested. We live 5 minutes from an AEGIS combat systems development/test site. If they’re not worried, I can’t be bothered.
  11. 9 extra minutes incoming, ugh
  12. Headline on the clip is misleading, but good conversation.
  13. Both Michael Scott moments apply, just depends how your mood tracks today:
  14. Great dialogue on NBC’s pregame today. Robbie Mustoe thinks he’s inexperienced, Robbie Earle name drops Tony Pulis and Big Sam to tell him off from the “experience” tagline, talks about how Enzo was inexperienced before last season, too, then dives into Ruud’s youth record at PSV and the rave reviews from Gakpo, Madueke, etc. Nice to have a somewhat intelligent discussion from pundits.
  15. We did Fosse Club in March 2023, on our first visit from the US. At the time, international members weren’t guaranteed tickets, which made the decision even easier. My wife was very happy with the experience, especially on a not great weather day. For the occasion, it’s worth the expenditure.
  16. Played through a pairing on the third hole, and never saw another soul the rest of the round. Almost like nobody else wanted to play in the wind and cold
  17. Shot 94 at Gullane no. 2 this morning. Happy with that number, considering the 20mph winds. Course was in exceptional condition, amazing value for the £50 green fee. Finished the round in 2.5 hours, had the place to ourselves. 30 min drive from Edinburgh, highly recommend.
  18. In that case, keep an eye out for info on Mickey's Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. That's the October evening event they host- free candy being handed out everywhere in the park. Here's the link with all the Evening Hour pricing, if you want to start throwing your trip budget out the window now.
  19. Disney is so vast with many varied experiences, it really depends on preference. Are your kids more into Magic Kingdom (traditional Disney), science and superheroes (Epcot), etc? The hotels all have different themes, too. If you want to stay "on property" at a Disney Hotel, I would recommend Wilderness Lodge- the American West theme, close to Magic Kingdom, and with enough options for kids. Beach Club is amazing with a sand-filled swimming pool that's popular with kids and adjacent to Epcot, but neither of them are cheap. Dining reservations open 60 days before your stay, including for Disney Springs (shopping and restaurant area). Let me know if you have any hotel or dining-related questions. Happy to offer any advice on hotels you might be looking at. Best advice I can offer, as someone with a Disney insider-type spouse who knows the travel hacks, is to look at which parks offer Extended Evening Hours while you are staying there. Conventional wisdom says to spend all day in the theme parks to maximize your time, but that's exhausting and really adds up with the food you buy. For almost the same price as your single ticket, you can buy the evening passes- get in the park at 7PM, and by 9PM or so they kick everyone out of the park who doesn't have the evening only ticket. You then have your run of the place until 1AM, and snacks/non-alcoholic beverages are free all throughout the park. We did this last summer at Epcot, and we waited no longer than 15 minutes for the most popular ride. Most rides we just walked onto with no wait...well worth the money, and the sun was down. As someone who doesn't love Disney, it was the best way to do the park. For an escape day, would recommend Cape Canaveral to see the NASA complex, only an hour from Orlando. So many good beaches on the east coast. People also recommend Universal Studios in Orlando, but we've never been. Last bit of caution...hurricanes. There have been several active hurricane seasons in Florida the last few years. Disney is pretty insulated from it, and they usually stay open when a hurricane hits, but September and October are peak times for the storms.
  20. Thanks, saw this same link and have Guilford on my list. Always get good recommendations when posting on this thread. Gullane no. 2. I'm sure the no. 1 course is great, but they offer less visitor tee times. As no. 2 is half the greens fee of the no. 1 course, plus with club rental, I'm still happy to get a great links experience without breaking the bank.
  21. Off to Scotland next week, 3 nights in Edinburgh and 2 nights in Perth. Second time visiting both cities. Already have a tee time booked for one day, also hoping to catch St. Johnstone at home next Saturday. Traveling with a group, but there's time to get away. Any good pub recommendations in Edinburgh or Perth? Staying right on the Royal Mile, by Waverley Station.
  22. Local brewery opening at 9am for this. Likely means double IPAs for the second half, the pessimism runs deep
