Who do you want for next season in the PL
lcfc_forever replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
Anyone here that we should go for? -
Glad most posters aren't rushing to defend the club, those comments are symptomatic of how things are currently being run. His agent is largely speaking facts, and how can he be a mercenary when he actually moved to the club he wanted to go to rather than take the money?
-
Beginning to become clear why Percy said we thought we were in the driving seat as looks like Juve don't want to sell to Roma, and want the money for him which is highest from us.
-
Key phrase from the article "...Leicester are now understood to be in the driving seat".
-
Going to Olympiacos according to Romano.
-
Juventus need to sell for deals like this, so we have some negotiating leverage.
-
As per @comeonyoufoxes: Essentially says nothing is stopping Soule joining us accept agreeing the transfer fee. He then provides more detail in this article: https://www.alfredopedulla.com/esclusiva-chiesa-roma-la-partita-e-ancora-aperta-e-su-soule/ Key paragraph: We'll see if the scenarios change. De Rossi likes it (as Chiesa likes) and it's not a mystery, but it's absolutely false that he would close the doors to the Premier and Leicester (in pressing). The British are preparing an offer that can get closer to Juventus' minimum demand: 28-30 million fixed base plus bonus.

Brilliant video! Thanks for sharing, I like how we have that flexibility between 3-4-3 and 3-4-2-1. I thought the same as well about Carvalho but sounds like our relationship with Liverpool is bad after they poached Nyoni. But surely we’ll use the loan market more generally.

Analysis here about Okoli from the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5624663/2024/07/10/caleb-okoli-leicester-transfer-analysis/
-
Both Tanner and Percy have said the signing is set to be completed very soon so don't worry!
-
As @StriderHiryusaid, I wouldn't be surprised if we were thinking about the high 8/CM position for Soule. Doesn't make so much sense to spend that much on another winger.
-
Percy confirmed the deal is set to be completed this week.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
lcfc_forever replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
The Telegraph article from Percy has been posted a few times but he says the club think they needed £40m to be PSR compliant for 23-24, and believe they achieved this following Maresca and KDH leaving for Chelsea. -
Positives on the impending Cooper appointment
lcfc_forever replied to CrazyKopCorner's topic in Leicester City Forum
Very good read in the Telegraph about Cooper and his plans for the club: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/07/08/steve-cooper-leicester-city-zoom-calls-transfer-news-coach/ Excited by this. -
Congratulations! My no.1 site, perhaps not a good thing to think about how much time I've spent here!
-
Nizaar Kinsella from the BBC reporting that KDH has signed the contract, just waiting for the official announcement. He's reported on a few LCFC stories recently, looks like at ITK to follow. Interesting the BBC have someone breaking transfer news like Ornstein now.
-
Expect we took less so get the money quicker (and not have to commit buying a Chelsea player) rather than a prolonged payment plan.
-
Maybe we would have got more if we'd committed to taking a player off Chelsea? If we have got £30m and still have to buy a Chelsea player, that would be poor negotiating. I get the impression after the Maresca experience don't like Chelsea and want to minimise any involvement with them.
-
Don’t see currently how either of those players significantly improve the squad. Did Glover recruit Broja for Southampton? If so, you’d think there would be interest, especially as we need a striker.
-
According to Athletic, it’s Casadei and Datro Fofana proposed by Chelsea, Broja not being included in the discussions even though he is up for sale. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5600965/2024/06/29/chelsea-kiernan-dewsbury-hall-maresca/
-
Sounds like we want money (instead of a player exchange) but Chelsea want us to buy one of their players in return.
-
This is why I’m quite excited - looking forward to seeing what Glover does with a decent budget.

It's not clear from the article but Forest's owner also controls Olympiacos as well where he was on loan so think it's a signing for them. Makes sense they'd want to sign him given the impact he had.
