Thinking about Percy’s article, the club also pulled out of a lucrative pre-season tour as that’s what Enzo wanted and now he’s left so another factor why they’re annoyed.
-
And he had recommitted to the club as per Percy's articles and his family are settled in the area. I was a supporter of Maresca and what he brought to the club but the disloyalty has really disappointed me.
-
From Percy: "Maresca was so devoted to his philosophy that he could at times become stubborn and dogmatic. It was a meeting called by senior Leicester players towards the end of the season that helped them over the line." Ouch.

Even Enzo's biggest fan Balague said that wasn't the deciding factor. He said Enzo believes he belongs among the elite, and Tanner added that he's a man in a hurry to get to the top level.
-
Similar to what Tanner said about disappointment at the club as they wanted to back him and agreed to address the issues from last season but he broke his commitment to them:
-
Makes more sense why we went after Sarri as well. Hopefully this is a sign that the club have learned its lessons and not being so reliant on one individual as we were with Rodgers.
-
Tanner said the board want to maintain the progressive, possession-based style of football so there is a long-term approach at the club. So doesn't sound like Moyes would be an option.
-
Departure confirmed, announcement tomorrow: “Chelsea are said to be sensitive to the disruption caused to Leicester ahead of their return to the Premier League and appreciative of the class and professionalism they displayed throughout.” Well, that’s nice of them 😂
-
Sounds like he’ll be up against it: https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jun/02/enzo-maresca-lift-chelsea-mood-win-over-senior-players-pochettino-adarabioyo

Watching Real Madrid reminds me how the top teams, for all their talent, tend to be excellent on set pieces as well. Interesting Enzo was planning to bring a set piece coach in as well before he decided to leave, hope we follow through on this whoever the manager is.
-
LOL. Interesting it’s now more than 10m euros compensation.
-
That’s kind of what Tanner was saying - he’s been out of the game a while now.
-
Tanner was on the LTID video yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Na9wL-WaQ He said: 1. The owners want to retain a ‘modern progressive, possession-based style’ with the new manager, they’re adopting a long-term philosophy 2. While PSR will be a consideration, the most important thing is finding the right person so they’ll pay the money if they need to 3. There is disappointment about Enzo leaving as the board thought he was staying and in it for the longer term but the lure of Chelsea was too much 4. The job is an attractive one, especially for a young manager wanting to prove themselves. As we know already, said the club have long admired Potter but the situation might not be right for him. He thinks Cooper will be considered but he said the club are still working through the target list.

Leicester and Italian managers have been a match made in heaven so far!

Great minds...

You mean Ruud awakening?
-
Garcia's win percentage is less than 30% at his previous three clubs, which is concerning, although he kept Leuven up from a very challenging position. Maybe this is just his agent putting pressure on Las Palmas who he's also been linked with?
-
My head says no way for Mourinho but for the entertainment, emotion and siege mentality…Could you imagine it?!

Analysis from the legend that is Tacticar:
-
i thought the video was a conflicted mess, but Balague said clearly it was not Leicester's fault. He said Enzo was annoyed by the financial issues but they weren't the reasons he left. So let's stop reporting things incorrectly. He said Enzo believes he belongs with the elite, and has joined a Big 6 club accordingly. It just makes Balague look like a hypocrite given he was just last week on national radio talking about what a mess Chelsea are. And then he talks about Enzo getting stability there

It's one for 22-23 for sure, 23-24 yet to be confirmed. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

This thread is funny. Poster: The rule book says it can't be more than 8-10 points Other poster: But if we get 15 points docked... Another poster: But we can't more than 8-10 points And so on.... -
Well, he confirms it’s the opportunity to be part of the elite where Enzo feels he belongs that led him to leave rather than FFP, comms issues being ‘key factors’ etc. So contradictory, you can tell he still thinks Chelsea is a basket case of a club as he references Poch’s experience (and said as much on the Euro Leagues podcast) but his boy has decided to move there so he needs to back him up. He even says he’ll get stability at Chelsea 😂
-
It’s the guy who’s quoted from the article that’s made the error. Here is the exact quote from the Guardian: “Sources close to Maresca have also stressed the Italian has not been in a rush to leave the east Midlands club and could decide to stay if he has any late reservations about moving to west London.”
