  1. Years of government cuts
  2. I once bumped into Richard Briers about 20 years ago in Chiswick. Absolute gentleman and was happy to stop for a chat. Could not have been more friendly . A much missed actor and made sit com look easy.
  3. Mosquito pilot Colin Bell DFC. Now aged 105. Still sharp as a tack and walks without a stick. Asked about his longevity he said its a combination of exercise, alcohol and the love of good women with the odd bad one thrown in.
  4. Yep. Definite red card. No attempt to get the ball and took the player out with a dangerous challenge.
  5. I can see that happening
  6. Away draws are OK but totally wasted if we can't get maximum points at home
  7. We are down. Can't keep a clean sheet and Can't score enough to win. Oxford U now picking up points everywhere. No way three teams finish below us. We are like a beached whale
  8. Wouldn't be the first time somebody has been kicked upstairs to keep them away from the real workplace
  9. I do despair when some people here have so little regard for their environment outside of what belongs to them personally. Litter on the streets. Idiots that actually visit the countryside because it is beautiful but think it acceptable to leave their detritus behind. We really need to educate about this. Also that shoplifting has been allowed to escalate has been a major blunder.
  10. 8 wins in the league would be very welcome
  11. The double punishment of a penalty and a red card for denying a scoring opportunity. Well it's not because the penalty is probably a better opportunity than open play. I can agree with the red if pulling a player down bearing down on the goal but outside the box.
  12. Won't disagree with that
  13. I was trying to make a narrow point about WW2.
  14. Thank goodness their self interest came down on the right side is the only thing that mattered to people at the time
  15. You were the one that used the word never
  16. I think you might have thought differently in WW2
  17. Yes. I guess the old maxim bad news travels fast is true.
  18. Ha yes. Mind I bet a lot of people up and down the country wouldn't recognise their county flag
  19. Never actually felt the need to fly a flag. Would be happy to only see them at sports events or public buildings or places like the Mall. What about you?
  20. Not you obviously but plenty have objected to the Union and especially the England flag. Certainly there are some people using it for bad reasons but often there is an assumption that all are rabid right wingers yet everyone else flying a foreign flag is a paragon of virtue. Just to add I am welcoming of anybody from wherever if they are peaceable and law abiding
  21. Must be all flags of whatever nation then?
  22. Flying the Union flag or England flag is open to criticism by many. Yet Flying a foreign flag in this country seems to be beyond reproach by the same people. Why is that? Can we really be thinking a foreign flag can be a unifying symbol and the Union or England flag can only be divisive
  23. Just pay off Daka and Ayew. Should never play for us again. Play a couple of kids. We are going down anyway
  24. 63 years following Leicester City. I'm nearly 70. Just need to learn how to mentally retire from caring anymore. Said after winning the League and FA Cup that I would be able to relax more emotionally. Not achieved it yet but this shower of shit is getting me there.
