  1. It's superb. And it's not easy to defend the people who don't get it, but - in their defence we don't do that every single time we have the ball... It's just that the English football way has always been kick and rush, hit and hope, big man up front, get it in the mixer. It's very deeply ingrained. And so if you're not doing all that it feels like you're not really trying!
  2. You talked about hypothetical envelopes from universities; I was just pointing out that the hypothetical envelopes wouldn't be from universities, they'd be from property companies. I wasn't saying that local councils might not be able to be influenced...
  3. Is it the university making the application or a property company?
  4. Student accommodation these days is almost always built by private companies, not by universities. And anyway most universities are in danger of going bankrupt; they can't afford to bribe anyone!
  5. I think people forget that freight trains are usually really, really slow. They might take some stopping but they're easily outpaced.
  6. If I was a Southampton fan I'd look at the league table and see that we have to drop a minimum of eight points for them to catch us even if they win every game. I'd be thinking it's far from impossible that we won't even drop that many in the remaining games. They'd also have to make up 17 on goal difference, so it's probably nine points really. Lose to us and it's twelve. If I was a Southampton fan I'd reckon there's no way they're catching us. But I'm a Leicester fan, so of course what I see is that when Southampton win their game in hand and beat us they're only five points behind us, and five points is basically nothing...
  7. I've never been convinced by this theory. Teams with nothing at stake can just play without pressure, which makes them potentially really dangerous.
  8. Spot on mate. Enzo's a clown, and Harry Winks making one mistake proves it beyond all doubt. What's John Beck doing these days?
  9. No chance. He'd want to score, but no way he goads their fans. He is one of their fans.
  10. Fluke. He's not doing that again if he tries a thousand times.
  11. I suspect Enzo would disagree. Nelson wouldn't be ahead of him because he has miles less experience, and Souttar because he has nowhere near the passing range Doyle has.
  12. Going from what absolutely everyone says about Coady, we've probably had our money's worth and more just with having him at the club. Wasn't he pretty much picked for a couple of tournaments for England because even though he was highly unlikely to play, he's such a fantastic squad member?
  13. Well we haven't yet given any reason at all for anyone to think we might, so while anything's possible, I wouldn't go worrying about this until we start looking the least bit shaky. The Stoke match would suggest that if anything, we're getting better.
  14. Agreed. But sadly it almost certainly won't. But this is definitely the thing they need to do - actually do something about referee intimidation/abuse. It has to be absolute zero tolerance, and has to be enforced. There won't be any refs in the future otherwise - there's already a massive shortage in youth football, and I'm not surprised. I've seen a youth football coach shout "You're a f***ing disgrace" at a fifteen year old ref. The more it's seen and done and tolerated at the top levels the more it passes down to grassroots.
  15. And a fluke. Every goal I've ever seen us concede can be put down to either bad defending or bad luck. Oddly, however, a lot of goals we score are down to attacking skill.
  16. Absolutely. This should be the rule. I don't actually mind the blue card idea. But I'd prefer rugby's ten yard rule. Slightest complaint about a free kick and it moves ten yards towards the goal. If that takes it into the box then it becomes a penalty. Anything to stop the spoilt whiny millionaires getting in the ref's face all the time.
  17. People who sell limited dirty energy?
  18. Christ I hope not. We never do well against Southampton on a Friday night.
  19. Sadly not the former Liverpool midfielder. 'Former Liverpool' midfielder indeed. Harrumph. And on a Leicester forum as well...
  20. Willie Carlin??
  21. 93 is the most any runner-up has ever had in the second tier, and that's only happened about twice. Southampton need two points a game from here to reach 95. Leeds need more than that. If we drop to 1.5 point a game from here we get 96. For them to get 100 points they need to win all but about three of their remaining games. We could lose six and still get 100 points.
  22. BBC has a Leicester news section. Their website's much less annoying (yes, I know that's a pretty low bar!). And Radio Leicester's on BBC sounds, except when there's a City match on.
  23. But - the purpose Enzo uses him for is completely different. These guys are all good players - as long as they're used in the right way, in the right team, playing the right way. Round pegs, round holes, I suppose. Anyway, I'm confident Enzo will have at least as good a grasp of players abilities as we have, and if we're playing Vestergaard in the Premier League next season it'll be either because Enzo thinks he's good enough, in which case he'll probably be right, or because we can't afford anyone else and he's the best we've got, in which case there won't be much point in us moaning about him or getting on his back!
