For me that last paragraph is spot on. I think eventually Cooper will work that out along with Abdul coming in for Ayew. That said Ayew does offer a level of maturity and ability to hold up the ball and win fouls in good areas. Like wise VK always gives it 100% and has tenacity and aggression needed in this team. It’s a long season and we will need the whole squad to step up over time, vesty included.

I agree. He made some very good runs today and I think having Buonanotte in there to feed him is really going to help him this year. I would have put money on him scoring that chance but live I thought it bobbled and he seemed to suggest this afterwards too. When I’ve seen facundo play this year I always come away wishing we had an option to buy. He is just what we needed to replace KDH.

Indeed. We have shown we can hurt them in the final third. I’d like to see a few midfielders breaking into the box and in the edge for when the ball comes across or breaks out. We have also ridden our luck on occasions but what a great goal by Facundo. Mavidi looks very lively again too.

Bring Abdul on right wing and move facundo inside. Swap Justin over for Kristiianson as he is getting roasted. Ricardo on rb mavidi is doing great we need the same on the right.

I think cooper doesn’t yet know the players well enough to understand their capabilities and errs on the conservative side which turns out to be the opposite. Everyone reacts differently under pressure and the mind could be cluttered. His assistants need to stand up too.

Very disappointing to lose in that manner in extra time but some real positives there. It shows we can cut it in the premier league most notably. But for some poor substitutions and dodgy refereeing antics again we could have done better.

That second goal looked like we had dropped our heads in defence. All the players just followed their runners when they cut it back to tossard. I thought we had done ok at times but there is a gulf between the two teams. Still never give up.

A key part in Saturday is going to be defending their aerial threat from set pieces and in particular corners. Gabriel to be fair is excellent in this respect and they are well trained in creating blocks on the keeper and those trying to prevent runners. if we can nullify that then I think we can compete especially if we can show more togetherness and spirit. Although to be fair I don’t think we have been too bad in this respect. I’d like to see Ricardo come in at RB and Justin up against saka on the right as he has done well in that in the past. In position Ricky to play his inverted role in midfield he does so well. I like skipp but I’d play Ndidi in midfield for added physicality and aerial prowess along with winks and goodnight as the Number 10. fatawu and mads on the wing and Vardy up top if fit. Utilise the relationships built up last season. . I think Faes will get the nod though to start alongside okoli at CB although there is a case for vesty given their aerial threat.
