Playing Ward would be absolutely crackers. There is nothing to benefit from it. Mads missed out on a bit of pre season and although his shot shopping looks good, work clearly needs to be done on playing out the back and long ball distribution. I think Mads needs game time and playing Tues / Saturday shouldn't be an issue for him.

With all due respect, he was terrible and it stood out way before we had Mads here. When he replaced Ward you could see it was a real problem for the team and the coaches. They would spend a huge part of the warm up getting him to practice kicking out to the wings, only for a huge percentage of the kicks to go out of play. Each time it happened you could see the frustration on players faces, but they would all give the thumbs up as it was obvious they knew he wasn’t capable. I remember Dean Smith going mental on the touchline against Newcastle as with about a minute left of the game Iversen has a brain fart, delays his kick, and when he does it it goes out of play. He’s a top drawer shot stopper and I really like him as a keeper and he seems like a top bloke. He has some of the worst football feet in the game.

Blimey. If Iversen could use his feet he would be one heck of a keeper.

Depends what we have offered him. If he thinks his value is more (even if it isn't) then you can't blame him for seeing what his options are. Its a job and a living after all (and one that has family consideration). But yes, i agree about pre-season but we don't know if he is days away from making a decision.

If Chelsea valued him more than £4mil (i think thats what we have paid), then the remaining 'true' value of him was added to the KDH deal which in turn inflates his transfer fee and goes into last years accounts.

I know its not, im being flippant. I wish the whole industry wasn't using sponsors like this but we've seen other clubs who haven't cared gain revenue advantages. We've all criticised the club on not maximising shirt revenue but the reality is this is what you end up with. Looking forward to some nice Jamie Vardy vids of him playing slots on his phone.

He was worked out quite a while back - that player is never returning because the PL players know how to exploit his weaknesses. One of the reasons why he worked higher up the pitch was his lack of skill was less of a problem. The issue we have is i don't think he is good enough to grow in the more attacking role, and i think he will regress to old Wilf quite quickly back in the number 6 role. Imho, Wilf staying will not be some sort of massive coup for this club. It will show that noone else was really offering him anything interesting, and if the best he is getting is from Everton that tells you all you need to know. If he stays, i hope its not an a crazy deal. His experience will obviously be valuable, but his injury record is horrible and his best days are behind him.
