Agree. Keep giving him 25-30 mins as he has to put himself on the shop window. Never know, he might actually start to enjoy his football again. If we break even on him (amortised of course) then thats a job well done.

Maybe VAR thought enough of a mistake had been made to be overturned. I’m not saying decisions should t be overturned, just there are ones that are 50/50 that should remain refs call.
-
I presume Edouard will go back in the Jan window? For us to not even play a striker midweek is damning for him. We all joke about Daka, but we cant have Vardy playing 90 minutes every game. Its crackers.
-
And it's right that VAR did not overturn it. I mean, if VAR doesn't intervene on Phillips assault of Buonanotte then it shouldnt on a body check. Its right its left with Refs call, and if the ref gave it i wouldn't expect VAR to overturn it either.
-
With the constant luck and fortunate officiating they got last year, they can be forgiven for thinking that's how the football gods were always going to be. Phillips should have been sent off on the first foul, and the Fatawu challenge was a 50/50 body check that is the referee's call. Really nothing to be complaining about.

Against more dynamic forwards all our defence will struggle. Credit where its due, those passes are quality.
-
OK - deserves me to stop posting sh1t about him for a while. That was a big moment. Hopefully gives him some confidence.

He’s been fine but had a tough few games. The maresca system didnt suit him and will need time to adjust to it. He will be back I am sure. I’ve no problems with him.
-
Think we all need to get this out of our heads. He won't go until we are 'firmly' rooted in the bottom 3. Wolves need 3 wins over us before that even happens. Whilst the other teams at the bottom are complete dross, he's not going anywhere. Im now resigned to the best option being he gets us through this season, no matter how horrible, and the boards expectations are realigned next season and hes gone at some point then.
-
He's not been in the equation all season, and if hes not starting a Carabou cup game then i don't expect him to be in any sort of contention for a while. At this point you've got to assume that Cooper has no development plan for him.
-
I think you are were you should be, and we are overachieving. I admire McKenna a lot, and i like that he stuck with largely the same approach that made you somewhat overachieve in the Championship. It was always an approach that was going to be tough to emulate in the PL, but he's not reverted to an overly defensive system. I think you are good for a result tomorrow, as our confidence is shot all of a sudden and we are leaking goals something silly.

We did the Stadium tour last year, and the bloke taking it joked that Danny Ward made the tea/coffee for the refs / assistant refs. Im sure it a joke well used during the tour. When signing autographs, one kid (i reckon about 10) said to him he was his 'favourite 3rd choice goalkeeper'. Ward put on a brave face, and his wife heard behind him. We joke, but people want to achieve and want to be respected. I am sure Ward isn't satisfied with his career right now, even though the money is obvs great.

But this was largely the rationale behind Coopers selection before hand. So we are now saying he was right and those of us wanting more attacking or progressive football are wrong? There was nothing wrong with the inverted role in the 1st half against Forest - it worked well. What happened was Cooper was completely incapable of adapting to Forests changes until it all went horribly wrong. This is why i don't like the inverted stuff being referred to as 'nonsense' - it isn't. But it does need a manager that can coach it and adapt it in game. And for the record, a side with Winks, Ndidi and Ayew against Ipswich. Horrible.

Literally one game ago this forum was crying out for it. Basically, you are calling out for the most defensive side we could put out.
-
Nothing like waiting Ward rooted to his spot watch the ball travel behind him across the line. He's a comedy genius at these sort of moments. https://youtu.be/zRdGRkdZdXY?t=152 He even flinches when the shot is taken, in preparation for getting out of its way.

Why is he playing 90 mins in every competition right now? If any one needs a bit of rotation and rest, its JJ. He's being overplayed in a defence that takes pelters every game, in a role that is pretty demanding. He is one tackle away from being out for the rest of the season. Part of me wonders that he played because the Saturday team will have Riccy and Vik starting? But i would put 10 quid on JJ being in the starting line up against Ipswich.

Post match - Man Utd Carabao Cup - 5-2 loss
Chelmofox replied to jim5000's topic in Leicester City Forum
I really try not to be overly reactionary. But, a little like when we (ironically) lost to Forest under Rodgers, It's these games that actually indicate where you are. When the manager rotates and things are weaker, you get to see what the squad is made of. You take a plucky 3-0 loss with a changed team if it looks like there is effort, buy in, and a plan. That was a complete mess. From start to finish. He has no control over anything. Man U weren't even any good. Why play JJ again! He's not far away from an injury and doesnt need game time - he needs a break. Why Ward? There is nothing to prove there. At least Iversen has potential sale value if we can get him in the shop window? Why play Okoli. He's been ok but struggled last few games. Why throw him into the lions Den in a game like this - give him a break. Why play no actual striker? Why not start Vesty, who was one of the stand out players last season who now needs game time. Whats the system? Whats the shape. Noone knows. Is this even Football im watching? This showed that he's not got a clue. Any management would identify quickly there are serious issues, and we are now leaking a large number of goals. Be gone Cooper. For everyones sake.- 138 replies

Vesty hated so much he would rather risk Okoli in a game that we dont seem to be fussed about. Horrible.

Funny, coming home on Friday, knowing i had seen Vardy score at home yet again was enough to put a smile on my face. I found it hard to be completely pissed off knowing i had seen it. Every goal from this guy is still a treasure. And unless there is a complete disaster, i will be there to see his 100th at home.

Anything that keeps Martin there is fine by me.

Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest Tactical Analysis
Chelmofox replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
Wilf will get injured. No way does he see out the season. -
This is the wrong way of looking at it. Managers rarely move between PL clubs when they are in work, so a lot of the process is being available / interested at the right time. If we had a job available at the time Iraola was available or interested in moving to the PL, then i am sure we would have been just as an interesting prospect as any other bottom/mid PL club. There would be a lot of interested good managers ready to move here. One of the problems for our board has been the insistence on PL experience. I hope from the Cooper appointment, and how well non PL managers have fared at other clubs, this might make them change their minds on this.

His record in the Caribou cup is exceptional.

Does that make me a nerd, even though i want him gone?

Knowing us 6 years. Just checked and its 3.
