  1. Winning the title that year was a good achievement and nothing to be sniffed at. But they have nothing on us in the modern era.
  2. Leeds didn't. They won in the old 1st Division in 91/92. The trophy previous to that was in the mid 70's.
  3. Interesting. Will they still get fined each match or has he passed his GCSE's now?
  4. Exactly. My boy was far too young to go to any previous parade. Will just be a fun day out where we can celebrate a little more. Thing is, if we actually make a 'success' of the PL its likely we won't be winning or celebrating anything any time soon. Success will be mid / lower table life. Let them enjoy it.
  5. Apart from the relegation season when they did the double on us.
  6. I’ll do it fo 25 k a week.
  7. No goal music. Presume it’s coming back?
  8. So do you boo KDH, Daka, Vardy, faes and Ndidi who all played that day. Madders and Barnes got the goals and assists. Vardy missed a penalty ffs. moronic.
  9. hmm. I think our defence is better, baring in mind last year we mostly played Amarte, i never rated Castagne, and Evans was a bag of poo. Our wingers aren't proven at PL level. I love Mavadidi but he has a tough ask next year. Fatawu (if we sign) has a high ceiling but he is going to come up against some impressive defending. Both of the wingers have to jump a few levels. Vards is Vards, but older. Cannon hasn't shown anything yet. Im not sure what we do for the no 9 role as we have to get rid of Daka. Our midfield is poor though. KDH in the PL wont have the same effect and the one footedness will stand out more. I don't rate Ndidi in that role in the PL either (he's leaving anyway). We have next to no rotation in the Championship, and not much creativity in the middle, so the PL is going to be even harder. Midfield recruitment is key. I don't mind losing KDH if we get someone more creative in, as the energy will come from the wingers.
  10. Our boys will be drunk all week and dreaming of Ibiza. We’re not smashing Blackburn who desperately need a point.
  11. He’s ready. Get a proper pre season in him and he will do the job next season alongside Coady and Faes.
  12. Isn't he on 136 - https://www.premierleague.com/players/8979/player/stats Doubt 200 is ever going to happen, but 150 would great next season. Equals Owen. 14 goals is a lot in a season his age, but if anyone can do it he can.
  13. My Saturday is: Train into Leicester early, Pint, Pint, Dancing about, Chippy lunch, KP (presume free can of chang), TIFO, 90 mins of singing and dancing, Laughing at the Leeds result, Lifting Cup, singing voulez vous and Vardy songs, Pint, Train back to Harbs, Pint, Curry, Bed. Message me Sunday please.
  14. 100 points is the most pointless stat. Blackburn will be treating this like any other game because they have to, our lads have been on the lash for what feels like a week now. Out of contract players will have completely checked out. No one will want to get injured. We are about as 'on the beach' as you can be. We are are free hit for Blackburn. Not sure i care either.
  15. Difference between Ward and KDH is that there will be interest in KDH and there will likely be suitors out there who would better his Salary. Too much being read into his comments. If Spurs came knocking with a 1/3 increase in Salary he would getting his application together to rejoin Madders posse in double quick time.
  16. I have a horrible fear that many fans expect we will just slot into a top 8 + challenge again. It's not going to work like that. Next year is all about survival and we will have one arm tied behind our backs with that anyway. You would hope that we could take a leaf out of Lutons playbook and back the team no matter what, but i think you are right. 2 defeats in and it will all be talk about Plan B.
  17. Every team in the bottom 3rd of the table loses 3 on the bounce at some point. Bloody hell, everyone thinks O'Neil has done a great job but Wolves have dropped points in 7 of their last 10 games. Even Man U have 3 wins in the last 10. We are going to gave to get used to not winning every week, but if there are calls for the Managers head after 3 loses on the bounce then we deserve everything coming to us as a club.
  18. I don't see Ipswich messing it up from here.
  19. Shocking to have all the games moved to 12:30 and not put them all on red button.
  20. True, but i don't think its entirely as simple as that though. Squad players have tasted European football that isn't there anymore which is demotivating. They are lumbered with some average players. Clubs selling to them are getting wiser so the bargains aren't quite what they used to be. There was media talk of KDH going and them being interested in Russel Martin - which all feels very different to how they were operating before.
  21. Do we think Michael Thomas is Enzo, or part of his team? Only thing I will say about Southampton is they didn't press or challenge like a PL team. It was far more noticeable at the game compared to any highlights I saw, as highlights largely focussed on our possession. They were really weak and slow off the ball (shockingly so). Look at that Fatawu goal where 3 players jog towards him, if you played Millwall he would have had 2 big bastards on him immediately. I think the Bournemouth game is a better barometer where we still did well though, but i think from the middle of the 2nd half Bournemouth pressed and challenged less. I do think there will be less emphasis on possession stats next year. In the Southampton game we controlled the game through the press (the players were almost possessed - it was intense at times). Emphasis will be on what we can do when in possession, which is why playing out the back is key. I can see us generating lots of opportunities like the 5th goal against Southampton, and everyone saying we are playing counter attacking football.
  22. Smith-Rowe is a trap signing as its all about his reputation. Hes played about 300 minutes of football this season and everytime i have seen him he looked massively unfit. Somewhere is going to take him, massively overpay on the wages, get an ok player for a short while before turns into a donkey.
  23. De Zerbi is a problem for them unless gets his own way. Fully expect him gone and replaced. If he stays and he doesnt get his say with transfers they find themselves in Rodgers territory.
  24. Agree. Vardy missed one against West Brom that could have been decisive. Just give them muted applause and back our current lads. Apart from Fofana that is, if he ever plays again.
  25. Exactly! Its quoted as > 200k a week on various sources. Whatever, this isn't the pool we should be dipping into.
