The thing is, i just don't see a new deal being signed. Surely his performances of late have hit the radar of other clubs and he can get a half decent signing on fee somewhere, and fair play to him too if he goes down that route. If he had been used to his potential previously then we could have recouped a fee for him. Rodgers is the gift that keeps on giving.

I agree. I think he had a poor match against Birmingham in the 4th round but other than that i don't think he's let us down at all and has really progressed.

Calm down. With Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and tournament favourites Leeds still in the competition, we are not winning this. Enjoy the ride though.

Wanya Marcal signs new contract until 2026

Thought he had a poor first half. Then they pressed him hard beginning on the 2nd and I thought he would get subbed. But something seemed to click and he grew into the game, to the point where they struggled to deal with him. Fair play to Enzo for sticking with him. Hope this gives him the confidence to kick on a bit.- 88 replies

I feel he got better with his feet as the game went on, and was much better when Riccy came on. Would love to see how he develops in a full strength team.

We needed a moment like this. A lot of the season has been coasting largely due to teams parking the bus, and there have been the disappointments. But this is what football is all about. To top it off, its not like we sh1tehoused that. We deserved it, and could have won by more. Good lads. Now on to QPR for more of the same. -
Its always going to be away at Liverpool. But for now i can dream Cov at home.

Conundrum, because i thought he was excellent. Deserves game time, somehow.

Vesty and Coady are rock solid. His best game for us. Made up for the bloke.

Fudging brilliant. Coady and Vesty absolutely brilliant. Anyone who says Vesty cant play in the PL needs to give their head a wobble.- 377 replies

Proud of the lads. Couldn't tell who was the PL club. Should have won it. Bit more fun left to go! -

With Doyle looking so poor, we need to rest JJ. -

They are all doing ok. How slow are Doyle and Preat though. Would like to see Fatawu come on. Could we not swap Preat for Nacho? -

I suppose the plan is to get a few early goals so we can sub some of the kids on. -

A good test to see where we are. Sorry - couldn't resist! -
That's the spirit !

Context is important. Will depend where we are in the table.
-
Maybe Fatawu shouldn't play.
-
I think Kasey is likely injured based on yesterday's press conference. I would actually play Fatawu and not Wanya. Think you still need someone from the 1st choice front 3 on there and he is the one more likely to cause issues.
-
I would expect home games to really pick up now and would be really disappointed if we have anymore flat atmospheres like we had with some of the mid week games. The players have shown some frailties, and we can't just turn up to win. There can't be anymore 'job done' attitudes. We need to do everything we can to drag the team over the line.
-
Cannon needs the game time. How about dropping Nacho into Praet's position? I think Praet will be needed in the QPR game.

The heavily rotated team won against Birmingham. We are not throwing the game, just having to rotate for obvious reasons. I wish we were in a position to go full strength too, and if we were mid table prem we likely would be, but i'm not going to begrudge the club or Enzo rotating today. After Blackburn beat us last season, it didn't propel them into the play offs. There are bigger things at play unfortunately. Oddly, im a little more confident that with a bit of luck we might get something today. They have had a poor run of results and i would like to hope our rotated lads are up for this. Also, a back line of Doyle, Vesty, Nelson and Coady is hardly 'sh1te'.
