Bang on this. I'm starting to lose faith in Casadei, but Akgun hasn't actually played much since his injury and needs to be given time as we have seen promise. But until you try, you don't know, and Ndidi and KDH weren't able to just steamroller them either from the bench.

Farke's team drew to Rotherham last week, and drew to Sheffield Wed. There is no single formula that is going to smash teams every week.

And tinkering the approach game in and game out would likely cost us as well. I'm not excusing yesterday - that was just shit. We are in a period of poor form, and we are all talking about it like we are the only team to ever have that. Leeds drew to 2nd from bottom on Friday, and themselves drew to Sheffield Wednesday and people conveniently forget this when is happens to us. This league throws up these shite results from time to time, especially when you are back to playing 2 games a week. We are in this grind phase of the season, where most teams will find themselves hitting brick walls from time to time, But i don't think Enzo fixes this by just messing around with his setup and vision. Teams have definitely found success against us going man to man in midfield, which is why i was surprised Watford played low block on Saturday when it seemed they had the tools to do the same. I don't think all teams will be able to do it, and Shef Wed surprised me yesterday being able to do that and defend pretty well. We have played far worse than these this season, and if their new manager is given time i think he might throw a few surprise results over the next few months. I think we've hit a bit of a wall with some players progression in this system for sure and i think we need to be continuing the aggressive rebuild in the Jan window. We are missing some flair from an attacking midfield perspective for sure and we have to be thinking of a life without Ndidi, Nacho and bloody Praet, and getting bodies in that that will be hungry for success. As good as Ndidi has been for us, he's a stop gap that has over performed, but there are much better options out there for that role.

Even KDH got done for pace.

About time we had a draw. Terrible. Worst of the season. Everyone looked way off it for whatever reason. Games come thick and fast so they have to find some improvement somewhere.
-
Well that was fun. Presume the Christmas party was today.

Not for me

Been through this time and time again. Vesty wanted to prove himself, and you could see in preseason he was well up for this task. Praet has rarely shown he ever gives a toss. Enzo says nice things about everyone. I will only believe that Enzo rates him when we see him actually play again. I presume we are only a few weeks away from rumours of Torino being 'interested'.

Me too. We will miss KDH's engine but it think Yunus has a better pass on him.
-
No, he's just doggo.
-
He could join with Jesse Lingard

You are brave - good luck.

Its funny, but in the early days of VAR i remember that PL refs didn't use the monitors much, and it was something that there was some criticism of. Now as you say, its that stupid procession of almost justifying why the decision must be overturned.
-
Certainly deserved an assist on Saturday that Vardy pumped over the bar. He was great Saturday when we turned up the pace.
-
Bloody hell. I had completely forgotten that Daniel Amartey made 20 appearances for us last season.

Can you imagine the diving and faking injury you will get with a sin bin!

Champions League Thread 2023/2024

Nice to see he gets the black suit and tie out from time to time. -
The problem is that when its a debatable decision, and that minute is up, punditary will look at 10 different angles and then find the 1 that proves that Liverpool should have had a penalty, Klopp blows his top and the merry go round starts again. None of this solves anything. Controversy has always been in football - we might as well embrace that with the human element. All we've done is move the controversy to a different system. I'm so bored of it now. I think unless the decision is automated scrap it. Have goal line tech and the proper offside one used at the world cup, not the stupid lines thing we have ended up with. If a ground can't support the better offside tech, then switch it off for that game. Unless the automated decision can be made in near real time just dump it.

There wasn't a unanimous feeling we would be 10 points ahead of the play offs for sure. I was very much in the camp that we should do well (we should have done well the previous season), but with the dodgy preseason, and thinking Coady and Winks were PL cast offs, i was very concerned. Everything that has been achieved so far has exceeded any expectations I had. Which is why i find a lot of the very negative posts a bit frustrating. I think it could/should be better, and I think we are a few players away from a much better implementation of it. But, the main priority is getting the job done, and so far that is being done admirably.

Id do Hermansen Souttar Coady Justin Ricardo Winks Kasey Cassadei KDH Mavididi Nacho These are the games Cassadei should be starting (and excelling in). Nacho has annoyed the hell out of me but think give him 55 mins to get his confidence against the worst team in the league. Then unleash the cannon when hopefully we are 2-0 up. I'd start Kasey and bring on Fatawu as an impact just for the sheer fun of it.

Think we give both a good game to be honest. Would love to draw one of these i the 5th round of the FA cup.
-
You will be safe - wouldn't worry. But if you are willing to through 10 mil our way we wouldn't say no.

Sheffield Wednesday
-
And will moan about both you moaning at each other. Infinite moan loop alert!
-
Its coming at some point - surely. Enzo's pretty level headed and probably wont do something until he thinks he really deserves it.
