Funny, most of the media i watched had us missing out on play offs in predictions, and had Southampton and Ipswich ripping up the league. Its only some of our fans who think we have the best squad in the Championship.
-
I felt the first half was good. Other than a few stupid brain farts we were in control and i was disappointed we were only 1 up. However, they completely did us on the 2nd half. They sat deep and compact and offered nothing at all, and whilst we were passing around alot, to have no shots on target is pi55 poor, and you could see our players were getting slowly gassed. Their game plan was to try and exploit a mistake or counter us effectively. Vestergaard obliged, although VK had a good go as well. Its how i would play us. Faes is good for at least 1 brain fart and Vestergaard cant run and will get caught out. Sit deep - you will get chances. I noticed Vestergaard got really pi55ed off with the light booing that happened at the final whistle. I imagine it's not long before he falls out with this manager as well.

A normal average DoF would never have signed Cooper in the first place.
-
He signed a five year deal

Im not sure Page sees that game out at this stage in his development - and isn't Skipp supposed to be more of a defensive option. I agree, Skipp isn't good enough. Marti has inherited him and is one of only a handful of senior defensive mid options he can call upon.
-
SKipp hadn't played any minutes in the last 2 games. Its clear to me Marti doesnt fancy him. But 3 games in quick succession needed some rotation. There isn't a lot to call on when you need that and we all must have hoped Skipp could at least put a half decent 30 mins together.
-
We have to rotate players though, and he is someone that is part of the squad he cost us a lot of money. We could be saying the same thing about Soumare. A worse place for us to be is for us to play others till they drop and then Skipp is one of the only options left.
-
No he doesn’t.
-
But the alternative statement would be I was pretty excited by our new manager initially but his loyalty to Daka is starting to worry me.
-
After that 45 mins against West Brom, i strongly doubt it and i think he will be given more time before he starts. I expect pretty much the same line up, but with Hamza for Riccy.
-
I second this - i though the ref was an absolute ***** in the West Brom game when he booked him. Made it a real theatre moment when actually the best thing to do would have been have a quick word. I've seen far worse get nothing, and find it a bit sad that the refs try and make an example of it with the academy players.

There is nothing to suggest he doesn't have the people around him that are best for his development. You name check Lief Davis, but for all we know the guys a complete co*k who couldn't care about anyone other than himself. Ipswich are hardly nailing it right now. I have a feeling most footballers care mostly about themselves. As for Marti, seems silly to go all in on him right now. It's a work in progress and one of his new attacking midfielders got sent off, and his hew loan striker isn't match fit yet. I think we are going to see small tweaks to get where he wants. We are currently out performing all of the relegated sides and one point from 2nd. Regarding 'no support', again i think the manager tweaks this, but the lad has an assist to his name.
-
He needs time to develop and grow, try things out, experiment and be allowed to make mistakes from time to time.
-
Do you remember when news came from the Ghana squad that one of our players had suffered a nasty knee injury, and we all thought it was Ayew.
-
He's just really, really sh1t.
-
He was completely dropped from the squad last game. I doubt you will see him. Probably be doing the Sky Sports punditry.
-
He will still play even then. And take the corners and free kicks. And get to play both up front and as a 10. And write the theme tune, sing the theme tune......
-
Really wish everyone was up for it. Seem ready to launch into mistakes before they have even happened. Opportunity tonight to get the leap on someone, as Stoke and Middlesbrough play each other.
-
Cov had an xg of 0.4. We did stop them playing to their strengths.

Really disappointing to see Page there. -
Correct me if im wrong but they've completely dropped Coady now havent they?

Nelson had a much better second half. Faes and Vestergaard are experienced pro's who both have many seasons of top flight football behind them, as well as international tournament football, and cost us 10's of millions in transfer / agent fees. They have been allowed to develop in other leagues on the pathway to PL / EPL football. Nelson hasn't. After Faes and Vestergaard make mistakes, their experience means they are straight back in the side. Nelson isn't afforded that luxury. The level of criticism deserved at them all needs to be based on their experience and where they are in the career. The fact that Nelson hasn't played since the Huddersfield game, and many fans keep referring back to it, are a concern when you see our other CB's make mistakes each game.
-
Personally i would put Page back there. At least he has a bit of pace about him. And can we please stop getting Ayew to take set pieces as well.
-
Always watch, so felt like i was allowed an opinion on your opinion It does feel there is needle out for Jakub though.
-
Correct me if im wrong, but playing Ayew as the 10 still means you want to start questioning Marti?
