Okoli is a better defender than Feas or Vestergaard when teams come at us. Just Okoli is useless with his feet. We've yet to see Nelson play for us at all this season - so can't comment. We will have to make a choice at some point if a Faes brain fart, or Vestergaard unable to head the ball or run, is better or worse than Nelson or Okoli.

Yesterday there were too many very strange mistakes, such a horrific backpass for a corner that led to them hitting the bar, and some horrible over / under kicked corners and crosses. Do wonder where his head is at sometimes. I still think he is better defensively than VK which is important right now. There were some important tackles from him last night. I just dont know about that moment at the end of the game. At the time i felt it was an open goal for someone who can use their right foot. But as we saw last season, you are completely exposed when caught out - just look at JJ last season. But its also a system where horrific demands are made of the full backs, and its surely no surprise that we had terrible injury records with them playing that system. I see people are again are calling for VK because they would rather see him 'bombing' up and down the wing. Im actually getting tired of the Jannik love in. There is a lot of dross in these forward passes. Lots were misplaces today, and every first ball comes to him so as a team is easy to predict whats going to happen. And then there is the fact he has no pace and is crap in the air. I'd sooner bin off Jannik than Wout, and i hate Wout.

Starting in a senior game is completely different proposition to coming on and attacking tired legs. When Mavi is fit he will quickly become starter again. But saying that, Monga is getting great learning from this and whilst he was poor today, i dont think he equited himself badly. Was just a tough game for him. He is now past that stage where teams have no idea what to expect from him. He was doubled up very quickly, but even so he was still a nuisance. A poor shot in the first half and i remember him getting bullied off the ball a few times. Its going to happen. I dont mind that he's shy - he's 16. We still havent seen the best of him.

Hutchinson is a stretch when he's not got past the u18's. However, we cant be in a position where we have no left back cover at all, and the CB situation is not going to get better as teams know how to exploit it. Nelson and Aluko have to start to feature.

Seems people already forgotten that last season we had a spell where both Mads and Jakub were injured. Thank god we had our 3rd choice keeper available Would have been a nightmare to have use Bausor! Ok - Danny Ward breaks most arguments. But you do have to cover yourself for the eventuality your first 2 keepers are injured.

I like it, and there have been a few times we've belted it out and it's really felt special. There have been a few times we've been a bit lame and we've been drowned out by the opposition. Jersey Budd version just fine for me as well as its easy to sing along too. But it's ours and its different. I'm just thankful we aren't yet another club that decides Hey Jude it our anthem. I accept the error and happy to take these on the chin if it means no VAR. However, i still expect better from the Ref and i think any blame of Faes is wrong. I hate the bloke - but in this instance he did nothing wrong. I don't buy into any 'he gave the ref something to think about'. It was a good solid tackle and he was giving the attacking player no option to play the ball. We have every right to moan about the decision and move on.

So is the assumption that fullbacks will never, ever get beaten by a good pass? Even the very best at the top clubs will do. What I Iove about that clip is that Luke chases him down to push the attacker to cross quickly, and the cross goes through Vestergaards legs. If Vestergaard deals with that then Jakub doesn't have to make the save.

Im less angry than most. We are about where i thought we might be. I think on the face of it there just feels like there are wasted opportunities. I think I would rather see more of Nelson and Aluko even if it meant being slightly further down the table. With the positions we have found ourselves in we could be in a much better position. But then, i all EPL teams will think like this, apart from Middlesbrough. I do wonder how long Marti will stick with Vestergaard though. Definitely looks like there are cracks appearing in that relationship.
