Yup - i parked at Saffron Lane in the end but their weren't many spots left. I got into Freemans common but they asked me to leave when they saw what i was wearing. I really wish the Uni would put something on the parking page when they are going to close it to Football fans. Freemans common is listed as one of the parking spots on the club website.

I watched the extended highlights and he was more involved than i originally gave him credit for. With confidence he can be more clinical but some of the play was better than i remembered at the game. He even contributed to the big chance with a good header to Ayew. But that chance was his moment. Score that and the ground would have gone crazy. He cant let anymore of those slip.

New bloke say next to me yesterday. Every time Ayew got the ball he would shout 'Cmon JORDAN!' Everytime Ayew was near us he would take his photo. Bloody weird. Didn't acknowledge any other players in our team. Started to trigger me a little. When James got subbed off i said loudly 'What the **ck has got to happen for Ayew to get taken off the pitch'. Guy didn't really say much after that. I probably ruined his day making him realise that Ayew is probably a bit shit. Does that make me a bad person?

Shout out to Jakub yesterday. There were a few long passes that came through the middle that were really good and right at the end a quick throw to Monga that very nearly unleashed him but Monga couldn't quite get to. Never looked like conceding. 3rd clean sheet this season. It was also him getting the clean sheets at the start of Maresca's tenure too. I also think that with him in goal our home record is actually ok. I 'think' the last home defeat with him in goal was against Fulham back in January. He takes pelters when makes mistakes - but we have to bring up the good stuff too.

You are missing my point. If you go back the Florentina i feel that is more like what he wants, but Florentina were earlier in their pre season and played out the back for a lot of the game. Most Championship teams will deep block or go man for man. I think Marti had several issues that meant he needed to be pragmatic. The first was with personel and the transfer window, which is why Faes and Winks have only just started today (both looking good btw). The second is how poor defensively we were last year, and we are much more solid now although clearly asking Luke Thomas to stay in his lane and take very few risks. The last is our situation up front, which is still not resolved. I think he sees Ayew as no more than a low risk option who is pretty good with the holding the ball. I imagine more mid term he will change that up. You are going to see incremental changes to get where he wants. I think we judge out position then, but i bet you we won't be looking so safe at some point soon. I think when Ramsey and James are bedded in, and Winks is fully up to speed, and we have Caranza up top with Monga starting, we are going to have some fun for sure.

I see no reason why we cant win this. I dont think Marti has them playing how he wants, and i think the new players still need to bed in. He's making small tweaks each game and i really think he is trying to make us as defensively solid as he can. When you look at all the other results so far this season, i think we are in with a shot. Will be tough, but i think in 10 games time we will be much closer to what the manager wants.

It should be handed to Blackburn, but i am reading that the complaint is the pitch was unplayable in the 2nd half so i suspect you are right. Everyone involved should be forced to watch a 1970's match on a mudfest pitch.

Just got back. I actually enjoyed the game even though the result was frustrating. Felt we were much the better team and the stats somewhat back that up. Keeping Cov down to an XG of 0.4 when they have averaged much higher than this so far shows me that this lineup is much more secure. Stats show that Cov had 0 big chances. I feel Marti is tweaking the line up bit by bit to get things where he wants. Felt Faes was good, Winks was superb and i felt James looked pretty decent as well. Let down by Mavididi who should have not only taken his chance, but should have bounced straight up from it and focussed on the fact we made a golden chance, and there was more on offer if he was willing to put in the hard yards. Instead his head drops and he mopes around the pitch. Monga again looks ridiculous and Fatawu looked brilliant at times. I don't get Ayew and Soumare, as both slow play down. Would like to think the current line up is a work in progress and we start to see less of both. You would think Caranza starts to edge his way in and Ramsey / James / Page alongside Winks and maybe Skipp fill the remaining slots. I have faith in the manager we are nudging forward how we should do. Draws against ok sides happen. The points could be very valuable come the end of the season.

Cov are that 'better' side in this league right now. Personally didn't have an issue with playing out the back today. We are all aware of the risks in doing it these days, but i personally didnt get troubled by it today.

Nah - that will be the next game. Today will be horrible. Im up for it, but under no illusions we are going to boss this. I think mostly likely we grind out 1-1 today.

I think he will have resale, certainly at Championship level. Surely thats better than him leaving for nothing. He's by no means world class, but i've felt he's been much more solid since getting back in the side. Lots of scope to still improve and he is ok for the level we currently find ourselves at.
