Genuinely confused by these type of comments. Nelson is the one CB on our books who hasn’t played a part in our relegations, isn’t on silly money and if half decent could actually fetch us some money, the odd attitude towards him genuinely baffles me.

I’d drop Jakub for the next game, he needs to know that his performances in the last few games have been shocking. That’s coming from someone, who actually likes him too.

I’m going to sound super petty but why does Marti’s face wind me up so much? There’s nothing wrong with it per se, but when I see a photo of him looking clueless, it really grinds my gears.

I want him out so bad, but we know that we’re not gonna do it, we are skint and have a pending points deduction. Marti doesn’t get sacked until we’re in the bottom 3 🤮

Nothing do to with getting defensive, merely stating that you have an irrational dislike for Nelson. As a club, we’re financially screwed so it makes business sense to play Nelson, I hope that he turns out half as good as most on here hope.

Or to think that Nelson is 21, probably on the lowest wages of the CB’s that we have, an academy player, whilst the only CB with potential re-sale value. Surely even if he ticked a couple of those boxes, he’d be worthy of being a starter for us?

I agree with the style of play being an issue, I called it out earlier that we have no idea, on or off the ball. However, you’re giving Abdul way too much credit, he has been poor for most of the season with a few wonder strikes in between. He is not being helped by this turgid football but he needs to mix it up, I haven’t played in about 2 years but I’d even not mind playing him as know that he’ll cut inside 10/10. If we could be trusted to spend money wisely, you’d cash in IMO.

Our football is rank but that doesn’t mean that Abdul becomes this predictable and quite frankly, a below average winger. He gives the ball away a lot by running into players when cutting inside, rinse and repeat. He needs to mix up his play, as it’s so predictable.

It’s not even hyperbole as said it a few times now….someone offers £30m+ for Abdul and you sell don’t you?

I was typing this when JJ scored….Marti is genuinely a hideous coach. Can anyone please highlight, any patterns of play that we play under him? We look poor on and off the ball, solely relying on the quality of some of our individual players.

We’re dreadful but so lucky that we have JJ.

Gray going off injured for Birmingham just after 15 minutes. Is he broken? Didn’t he come off early against us earlier in the season too?

I know we’re all angry with the club/Marti/players but it’s actually a proper sad state of affairs that Nelson seems to have received a bizarre reaction on here. I want the lad to do well because he’s not Wout/Jannik etc etc. It’s a bonus that he’s an academy lad but as a few have said, there seems to be a strange agenda against our own on here, chill out everyone. Nelson is far from being the problem for us.

I might be over simplifying it but how many of the players that started against Newcastle were bought in the summer? They appear to have had a cracking transfer window and other than Xhaka, pretty confident none were signed due to their “PL experience”.

Another great pod as usual. I know that we’re run by clowns, so not fair to make a Sunderland comparison but they weren’t “PL ready” yet they’ve been great so far this season. I can’t say that I agree with us not wanting to go up this year, it’s all about making sure that Rudkin and co. revise our wage bill.
