Some of the comments are mega OTT. Has he lived up to all of our high expectations? Sadly not Has he been atrocious? Far from it. I think he’s more than adequate as a squad player but don’t think he’d look out of his depth against the likes of Cov/Swansea etc whilst Ndidi is away.
-
Didn’t look fit? It was this seasons performance in a nutshell, a couple of positive glimpses but more mediocrity than anything.
-
Or completely miss my point and make a dig about my support for a club that I’ve followed since a little kid? 🤯 I was merely stating that Kelechi (and others previously) get undeserved praise whilst highlighting other players currently Casadei as an example get the opposite treatment. Re-read my first comment (it’s only one page back) and see me get frustrated with the OTT comments about Cannon being rubbish etc, whilst the same posters praise Kelechi even after his below par performances this season.
-
I rewatched the goal before even posting that comment but I’ll break down his involvement with the goal before behaving myself 😘 Secure possession? You mean where his first touch bounces off a WBA player, this “turn” you say is him then turning his body to run forward (not seeing any sublime skill so far). You’re right that he does then show some strength/composure to hold a player off (he does have his body in front of the ball but hey ho, let’s give him credit for that one). He then takes 2/3 strides which is the right thing to do so he’s not off balance when he plays a 10/15 yard pass into an empty opposition half. Watch it back (without the Kelechi pink tinted glasses) and say it happens any differently….I’m merely pointing out how some players on here appear to get more credit than others btw. If Casadei did what Kelechi did….I’m telling you now, you wouldn’t be telling me to behave myself.

Absolutely spot on. How someone can oddly slate Cannon from his limited minutes yet in the same post defend Kelechi based on the majority of this seasons appearances is beyond me. A prime FoxesTalk moment for me is someone praising Kelechi’s ball to KDH against West Brom….he’s a professional footballer who passed a ball 10/15 yards forwards….it wasn’t deftly weighted, nor a difficult reverse pass etc. Yet some make it out like only Kelechi could have done it 🤯
-
You’re spot on mate. I’ll rephrase it, we have two out and out wingers in Stephy and Fatawu. I still feel McAteer and probably Akgun will find they’re playing more centrally, they definitely aren’t the same “get you off your seat” style wingers.
-
One thing is for sure - how nice is it actually having two wingers either side? None of this one attacking winger and a more reserved winger on the other flank. Whether Stephy does (or doesn’t make) the step up, he’s been a shrewd signing which we couldn’t say for quite a few windows yet can confidently say that about a few this summer 👌🏻
-
Surely Fatawu’s pass completion was ruined when he went through that very weird patch of just hitting floated balls to the far post (no man’s land)?
-
I think a fair assessment is “too early to judge pile”. He clearly has an eye for a pass and seems to work hard for the team BUT I don’t know which position he actually fits in our current set up. I don’t think he has that acceleration to play as one of our wingers nor the athleticism to play the 8 - that’s my biggest worry. Hopefully he stays fit and kicks on as he’s shown glimpses of promise in his stop/start time here so far.
-
I have always found the love for Kelechi on here a bit bizarre. He has had a purple patch when there were no fans but can recall so many more comments on how “he can’t play up top on his own” or “he needs a run of games” to justify his inclusion but his performance today is up there with some of Youri’s hideously lazy run outs from last season.
-
He was sloppy with some of his passing but so many more things that wound me up today than Mads IMO.
-
Hutchinson is pretty rapid so expected that but Faes is slow, whilst obviously not Vesty slow but he has shown countless times for us that he often gets out paced. If you had him in a foot race with Cags or even worse Fofana then you’d see it…..I have been impressed with Faes more than I expected this season but would feel very nervous him being our first choice LCB IF we get promoted.
-
React to the game for starters. KDH was clearly leggy as you say but not realising that we’re losing the battles/energy in the middle of the park and solidifying that with Hamza over Akgun was a decision Rodgers was making when he had checked out.

Ipswich (A) 1 - 1 - Boxing Day - Post-Match Thread
SafewayFox replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
I can’t get my head around the lack of penalty for me. 2-0 up and the games put to bed….possibly the most obvious penalty all weekend. -
You can’t account for the terrible decisions from the referee BUT it was a level of ignorance/naivety that Enzo seemed to make pre-meditated substitutions rather than react to what was happening on the pitch. Hamza SHOULD have come on for KDH and no idea why Kelechi was chosen ahead of Cannon, he hardly has shown himself as a defending from the front striker in his time here.
-
Agreed about the Wilf coming off comments making us look more vulnerable but Kelechi for Daka is just as damning right now. Daka’s pressing is night and day compared to the lethargic Iheanahco display since coming on (pretty much all season).
-
I forgot how much I hate Goodman on commentary. He’s almost deliberately wrong for shits and giggles.
-
If only he was a yard quicker and he’d comfortably make the step up at LCB in the PL for me. He has those rash moments but when we’re playing well he seems to limit those.
-
Totally agree about the gap and a longer period to consider players for next season BUT whether we have won the league on 90 or 110 points to me is irrelevant 🤷🏻♂️
-
I’m not genuinely saying this to bait anyone….but am I the only person who doesn’t care? Promotion first and foremost is our goal….No, I’m not one of those let’s aim for second fans either just think a record is great but pretty sure 21st placed Reading in League One would have preferred a longer PL stint etc.
-
I have been critical in the past of Daka and even disagreed with top level posters like @Finnegan who highlighted his stats for us. Jannik has had a good resurgence but could argue that Daka’s has been as big if not bigger considering our two other PL proven (1 being our GOAT) making our system look like it’s not CF centric. Keep proving me wrong Patson.
-
I like it. Shows how much Enzo acts on learns….Sheffield Wednesday almost 100% on here moaned about “too many changes”. Put them to the sword, have a comfortable lead and make 3+ changes at the hour mark.
-
We can’t actually be comparing Stephy and Barnes on here surely? One has played in the PL for the past few seasons and now on the books at a progressive Newcastle….another is back in England after mixed seasons on loan in various leagues overseas. We don’t need to knock Barnes when saying we’re hopefully going to enjoy Stephy down the LW for a good couple more seasons (hopefully in the PL like Barnes). As others have stated…..I’d like to see a winger with similar attributes come in if we do get promoted as a big concern over recent years has been our over reliance on only having one out and out winger in Barnes, obviously wasn’t as noticeable when had Lookman on loan.
-
I couldn’t agree anymore. A realization though that only two people commented on his thread when clearly a MoTM performance but would be two pages (or more) if he had a stinker 🤯
-
I think JJ is a very good squad player and seems to be an extremely down to earth lad. He seems to lose too many 50/50’s in vital positions but playing on the wrong side can’t help him. Genuinely curious if Enzo thinks we are better with Doyle in the starting 11??
