Signing a replacement for £20mill on a 5 year contract equates to £4mill per season and is certainly feasible. I think I'd want 10mill for the reason outlined in the first part. That would be good all round. I also dont expect we can or would spend 20mill on 1 player in the championship. Just illustrating the point. 2 10millers would do.

I don't think you can make any kind of plan where you look to stay in this division then push on the following season., We'll lose players to frees, we'll have good players who will want to leave, our young players will have the vultures circling, we'll be a less inviting club than whichever 3 come down. The target for us will be promotion. Even if we lose a load of players.
