Interesting. So this rules out any loan back out to another club now he has appeared for 2 teams this reason (I believe this is still the correct rule)?
-
I just see it differently (which is fine and allowed). I think some people just don’t understand it. It took me a bit to get used to the inverted full back tactic. I think others don’t have the patience to watch the passing moves. Others have come from previous eras of football and struggle to adapt for this season. Others just have a preference. It doesn’t even make them wrong. I also don’t think this equates to entitled (in most cases). However, if you’re going to attend the games, don’t take this baggage with you and get behind the team. It’s not good sitting in the stands moaning and grumbling.
-
Ffs shhhhh Let’s be fair though, they’ll be in the championship next season. He’s at very least a good if not very good defender at this level if in the right system/manager. He’d just been not in favour with Enzo. It could be a good move for all parties.

I haven’t said to ‘change’ anything. I’ve repeatedly said I am happy. I’d be concerned if we weren’t creating chances but we are. Yes I’d like us to take more of them but what clubs fans don’t? Re the tempo point, yes it depends what opponents we are up against. The two new years games (Cardiff away and Huddersfield home) I thought we beat the press excellently and were finding so much space in the opposition half and going forward with so much pace. But yeah, it’s going to vary over each 90 minutes and between games. And as is often said, ultimately slowing our play down will see us last the course even if it is not edge of the seat for 90 minutes stuff. My frustration is not at our play, it has honestly spilled over due to me being fed up seeing our fan base so divided when we never used to be. In my frustration, no doubt I’ve inadvertently added to that’s my bad!
-
You’re right. I’m just a bit frustrated by the divide that has been in place for a while now. I feel I’m quite a balanced poster. I like Enzo and what we are doing. But I can see where we can improve as the posters you’ve listed have said. But that in no ways means I’m not totally supportive. I make a point not to just make negative observations without being wrapped in positive ones. But, I am feeling I constantly have to justify that I am onboard and support Enzo to avoid being piled on even when balanced points. And that’s what I resent.
-
This is true. Maybe a good thing for if/when we go up. If teams come at us more we will see a mixture of styles. I do think a couple of our best performances happened to be Southampton and Blackburn away when we didn’t have the opposition killing the games. Obviously we have scored many and won plenty of games as well where teams have by superior ability and wearing them down.
-
How we are doing but with a bit more urgency at key moments and a bit more hunger in taking our chances But according to you, the poster you quoted and probably others want us to be in the play offs playing hoofball which is literally not what has been said anywhere on this thread…. Our fan base is rotten seriously!
-
To reiterate, I am supportive of Enzo and not a doubter (bit of a joke I feel the need to start posts with this to avoid getting piled on though)! But I see this term aimed a lot at those who aren’t happy. Surely being entitled is expecting to win each week. Given we are winning a lot, surely that shows that whatever their reasons are for not being happy, it’s not down to this so I think this entitlement thing is just a lazy work thrown round but it’s not that. Whether it’s lack of understanding, lack of attention span or just different preferences, I don’t know. But I don’t think you can say it’s entitled.

I see what you’re saying and as I said, I am perfectly willing to accept that my perception on the extent of these people could be off… I still think as a football manager, you are never going to have everyone on side. That said, as in any line of work, if someone really feels unsupported or unappreciated in their work, I would never expect them to stay so I can see it both ways. I think as someone who does like him, and ‘gets’ it but also appreciates there are areas to improve on, it has got my back up that these kind of comments could be directed towards those who share my line of thinking which is a lot of people!
-
I think you have totally missed my point…. My perception is that it is a minority who are doing as you say and complaining about the job he is doing. Maybe that naiive of me and it’s a higher proportion than I think. Mostly, it is balanced views recognising the good and where we can and need to improve. Not everything is perfect. So my point about him being over sensitive I stand by. I don’t think he should be throwing his toys out and threatening to leave over a minority of supporters not getting on board. And I’m saying this as someone who is on board and like him as a person. But this doesn’t sit right with me.
-
A few thoughts…. I do think Enzo is being overly sensitive but this seems to be something running through the club from Top ‘the fans made mean comments to me’ to the fans. Clearly the majority are generally at least, on board and just point out genuine areas for improvement. This comes across more as he isn’t willing to accept any feedback to me. Fan base in general and the atmosphere. I think this links to the lack of general sale and membership only by the club. It’s been mentioned that the new faces in the crowd this past week have led to a bit of a better atmosphere. I think there are too many people who have just become comfortable in what has become a closed shop and go out of habit and that has affected the atmosphere. The genuine negative morons out there would not be heard if we weren’t playing in a library week in week out. But, generally the crowd need to be inspired. I do completely understand the reason we don’t go full throttle and play a slower paced game. It will almost certainly benefit us as the season gets closer to the end. But it does often have long lulls which just do mean that it is less conducive to a bouncing atmosphere. Also, although no doubt some of the ‘get it forward’ crew are referring to long ball, I’m sure many are referring to getting it forward in the same way Daka got it forward to KDH last night. It doesn’t always mean ‘hooffff’, it can mean just intensity and tempo.

Ok fair 👍 I agree with this. My point is that, in my perception at least, the extreme you are referring to at the end of your post here is a minority in the same way those desperate for Rodgers to stay at the end was. I think the majority of balanced supporters, can be happy with what we are seeing whilst acknowledging the areas for improvement as you have highlighted some of. Finishing of chances is another one. My point is, I just think he is being overly sensitive to what is likely a minority. I’d like to think he can appreciate that the vast majority are behind him. If the problem is that a lot of this minority make up a disproportionate amount of our regular in stadium support, well maybe they do need to get a new interest. But it doesn’t justify Enzo saying he’ll walk etc for me.
-
Yeah and for me, he’s being far too overly sensitive! I am fine with his ‘way’. Yes I’d prefer we take our chances earlier in games but I don’t have a problem with it. But I think there is an over sensitivity around the club from Top to Enzo to supporters like yourself where nobody can deviate from the line of everything is perfect all the time!
-
Who’s hounding him out . Seriously what an OTT post and there’s many on here daily! You may as well shut the forum down if everyone is only allowed to say how wonderful everything is and not acknowledge the positives but also balance that with where things should and could improve!
-
Whilst a lot of what he says is true, it’s definitely a petulant response which is disappointing. As others have said, he’s done a great job to amass so many points but the squad is too good for this league so the most impressive thing for me was turning round the mentality more so than the tactical side. Ultimately if he thinks every single fan should think every single thing he does is wonderful all the time, he is just far too sensitive to be a football manager. For me, he just needs to get on with it and do what he’s doing but it doesn’t have to be as black and white as it’s shit or everything is so perfect there is nothing to improve on. Of course there are areas to improve on. It seems he is universally liked by our fans as a person which is more than can be said for previous managers. Nobody wants him out, they just want him to address the areas we do need to improve. Yes there are a minority of fans who will never get on board with the style but do they need to? It’s only like the minority of the ‘it’s fine’ crew who are still saying we are probably still in denial that we could get relegated last season!
-
You know people are allowed to point out issues in our game and not just have to go la la la all is fine la la la all the time right? The things you’ve pointed out are all well and good. But if we end up chucking more points away due to failing again, to convert our chances, it won’t mean much at 10pm tonight will it?
-
I meant to round off my original reply to you by saying I agree about wanting more. I did think this season he’d storm it but it hasn’t happened and we now have Cannon, Daka and Vardy ahead of him, it doesn’t look great for him. His league record hasn’t been great for the most part compared to his cup record that has been very good and pulled us through on a regular basis. I think often things either have to be great or terrible on this forum (not saying you). Realistically, he’s not been great but not crap. We’ve had some good memories with him and his record does look worse than it is due to not being a regular start but should still be better. Probably one where had the fee been say £15mill not £25mill, it may have been justified by his contributions more.
-
I mean you don’t have to be obsessed with contributions per minute to realise that a striker playing 90 minutes or even 70 or 80 should be getting a lot more than one coming on for the last 10/20. And I wouldn’t say generally top 6. Been here about 6 years hasn’t he and we finished 5th in two of them.

FA Cup 5th Round Draw - Bournemouth Away.

Assuming this was the Newport game? What was the context of the this? -
Speaking as someone who has no connection to UFS (to avoid any allegations from you), it’s because you have come on picking arguments and making baseless claims that you can’t back up to attack our fan base and supporter groups. Im not sure what the deal is with STHs and cup games these days but if they have to buy separately and for example, you had 28,000 STHs normally and an attendance of 28,000 yesterday, that doesn’t mean that was all STHs and no one taking the general sale. How do you know that 10,000 STHs didn’t bother and 10,000 general sale did? In that scenario, if they’d not bothered with general sale (or should I saw caved in to pressure), yesterday could have then been sub 20,000. All ifs and buts and neither you, nor I or anyone on here knows exactly. But as someone said above, if you just take the game and attendance in its own merits, a relatively uninspiring tie against a divisional rival, at the end of January when people are notoriously worried about finances waiting for pay days etc, 28,000 is not bad!
