  1. Yeah next season they might be in the 19th/20th region
  2. I can only think it’s because none of those clapping now and defending the ownership etc were around in 2008.
  3. Shock and acceptance. Not seen any of the usual suspects post.
  4. What were the home truths? I’m seeing people defend Winks, with the implication that he must have been receiving some real abuse and was in his rights to respond like that. Not that it does anyway…
  5. There’s not a team on there I’d expect us to beat.
  6. It was genuinely the summer of 2016 after the title. Recruitment shifted from that moment. Walsh left, Pearson was gone. The set up behind the scenes started to be lost bit by bit from that moment. Large contracts started being given out and the fist signings that were shelled out for and left for free like Slimani were made. That was followed up with 14 seconds late gate the summer after. Remember we ended up sacking managers the 3 seasons after the title for being in various degrees of a relegation battle, Ranieri in 2017 the worst. 2017/18 season Shakespeare was in October so probably too early to say but still was a bit start. Although recruitment picked up under Puel, looking back, the technical side of the players brought in was good but they never had the same strengths mentally as those we signed up to 2016. Maddison, Ricardo, Evans etc all good players but the problems with lack of leaders and lack of mentality have continued not to be there, hence falling apart in 2020 and 2021. All the time, the set up behind the scenes was getting further from what had brought us success. So it might sound dramatic, but the problems we are seeing play out now, you can trace back to then.
  7. To add to that. Is there any example of a club who has recovered from a Portsmouth/Derby/Sunderland/Wednesday and now Leicester decline without a change of ownership? I can’t think of a single one and for this reason, anyone not demanding a change of ownership now, this is not being entitled to their own opinion. It is plain and simply being clueless and wrong.
  8. Well it’s all very well pointing to sides like Sunderland, Coventry and even to a lesser extent Portsmouth and Derby making their way back from dark times. But these people who say this completely fail to realise that what all these clubs have in common is that they got rid of the owner who was responsible for their decline. Calling it now, Wednesday will make it back to the Championship before we do as they are further across the curve to recovery whereas we haven’t bottomed out yet.
  9. This is the one. Not abusive, factual and shines a light on the selfishness of the club.
  10. Why would he come to us Unless you’re talking about one of the many emergency loans keepers they have shipped in for a game or so across the season.
  11. Under new ownership *
  12. In reluctant to put a timeframe on it as any future promotion to and participation in the PL is dependent on the ownership. I feel confident in saying we will never get promoted back to the PL again under this ownership and KP. We are too far gone and they will not suddenly become capable of employ the right people. The club is a laughing stock and will struggle to attract decent managers and players whilst he remains in charge also. But if we got rid of him and got decent owners in, it could be as little as 5 years although that seems hopeful as even if a new owner took over as soon as next season, there’s years worth of mess to sort out. I know I said I wouldn’t put timeframes but given the challenge a new owner would face to turn things around and the fact that new ownership isn’t on the horizon, I think it’s fair to say it’ll exceed our current longest run of seasons outside the top flight which is 12 years.
  13. Looks like it’s going to be a nice day so definitely not going to waste time watching this today and will likely be out. I’m just going to try and resist the urge to even check the score until later. It’s a nailed on Portsmouth win. There is no other scenario that is realistic. Just a case of how many. Vile club.
  14. Geography not your strong point?
  15. It would. Obviously it’d never happen but if we won our last 4, as it includes Blackburn, we would finish above them as even if they beat Sheffield United, they’d be on 52. And Oxford would have to win 3 of their last 4 which is unlikely. (realising I am catching up on the thread and Blackburn since dropped points from when you posted to the scenario I have said above).
  16. Genuinely the things you have listed are much more appealing than wasting time going to games. I’d much rather take my daughter to parties and see her having fun. Shopping/garden centres normally have a cake stop so that’s tolerable. And I’d rather go for a walk as a family or things like a day at the wildlife park (something I’m am happier having memberships to than LCFC). But I’m not speaking as someone who has just made this decision. I stopped a few years ago and have never looked back and been interested in traipsing a few hours round trip to Leicester.
  17. There seems to be a lot less defence of them than there was a few weeks/months ago not the reality of relegation to League 1 is apparent. You’re right than many of those still defending him and refusing to contribute to action are just expecting us to bounce back. We won’t though. Next season is guaranteed to be our worst ever league finishing position. As it becomes obvious we are struggling again, I do expect more to turn as the season goes on.
  18. And to add, people just have different priorities. Not living locally means it is a massive chunk of the day, affecting work if in the week or taking a huge chunk of the weekend. If I was still doing it now, I’d feel I was massively missing out on valuable time with my family and my daughter as she is 3 now but won’t be forever and I’d massively regret that if I still went to matches. As well as the time, money is much better spent on things to do as a family and making those memories than lining millionaires pockets. So as to have said, I can confidently say I will not go back to attending regularly ever. Maybe as you say, every now and then if the club become on that resembled the club I fell in love with.
  19. So it sounds like the new owners could have had the choice to pay more than they felt the club was worth to ensure Chansiri is repaid to the required value but have not done so and effectively accepted the 15 point deduction than do this. Even if their motive is purely not to overpay what they believe the value is for the club, rather than out of principle against Chansiri, I think the fans will actually be supportive of this.
  20. Me reading this Me realising Aiyawatt and Rudkin are still making the decisions…
  21. Well as you have said it anyway I just found it amusing she has found herself involved in some controversy around dick pics whatever the context is I mean it all sounds very Forest fan behaviour on their part as well!
  22. I didn’t say KPFC did I? You said that. What I said is, it is only Leicester City in name. Why don’t you correct me and tell me what qualities in the club that exists today, are ones that are recognisable as Leicester City? The club name is the club name. What makes it the club we fell in love with is what it stands for and the culture. That has all evaporated and we have an unrecognisable shell of what the club was before. You questioned how people can just stop going. The answer is, because they no longer feel connected. Argue that all you like but it is fact. Ask yourself why people didn’t have the same reaction when we were relegated in 2008 and what has changed now.
  23. I have no idea what’s gone off. But on the Derby, Leicester, Forest banter page, once you get past all the guff of Forest fans crowing about their first relevant night in 50 years, a day ago there is a post with a large picture of a fox and the caption silence of the foxes. Posted by Forest are Magic. I was just looking at the comments and there’s a bizarre exchange between JS and Forest are Magic about inappropriate photos
  24. That’s the one.
  25. It depends what their new owner can do. If they can come in, fresh start, invest in the squad and start the season in a feel good mood, 15 points sounds a lot but could be cleared pretty quickly if performing at a promotion level. I’m not saying they would any of this by the way, but let’s say they won the first 5, there’d be 2/3 teams already who’s have pretty much lost all theirs. Either way, it closes the chapter for them and they can look forward.
