I said it before but I can see a scenario where the Sheffield Wednesday game doesn’t go ahead. I can’t see how they can start the season honestly.
-
It’s one of those, defending them for one thing (difficult to shift the players) is damning towards them anyway! There will be clubs who would want all those we want rid of. They just can’t afford/are too sensible to take them!

I think Brownhill would be an excellent addition. Quite ominous the point about wages though. Unless Burnley were being insulting with their offer, it would suggest he is looking for a pay day which we should be avoiding…

Every club making moves apart from us…. If you sit still you go backwards. Hopefully we get our equivalent of new signings with the introduction of the youth players, particularly Nelson and Alves who were away. Other than that I worry for us as we don’t have the divine right to promotion that some of our fans see to think we do and we could easily be behind the promotion pack.

Ah, ok. Yeah I knew that game stood out for the weakened side, Thomas pocketing Salah and a makeshift CB but yeah, was Ndidi. Although my memory is telling me they might have swapped roles during the game but probably wrong as it was a while ago. He did put in some decent performances around that time when we were low on number and we needed him to.

If they are adamant Palace can’t be in, kick Forest out as well and let Brighton in. Its amusing by how Forest fans are taking the moral high ground, convincing themselves they are the model club and Palace deserve what they get for not sending an email and Spurs are awful for speaking to MGW without having an offer accepted (which happens all the time and no doubt Forest do it). Yet they have a known match fixer who is clearly in charge and are the up there as the worst along with Chelsea for the transfers that are essentially cheating PSR. That on loan Forest player who scored the last minute own goal for Strasbourg that got Lyon into the Europa League needs checking as well. Clearly another match fixing episode by the fat Greek. They are just a vile club.

I think it was this game at home to Liverpool, https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/59736888.amp We were missing a few, possibly Covid outbreak. Also the game Luke Thomas has Salah in his pocket.

What are you basing this on? Trafford’s Championship season he had 29 clean sheets, won the golden glove and had a save percentage of 84.5%. Hermansen had 13 clean sheets, was nowhere near the golden glove and had a save percentage down at 78%. Neither has great numbers for the Premier League seasons but Trafford has 2 clean sheets to Hermansen’s 1 and a slightly higher save percentage. Trafford’s numbers for distribution appear better from a quick look. I personally don’t think there is that much in them but the numbers would suggest Trafford is a better goalkeeper and both are good on the ball. When you take into account Trafford is younger and home grown, as well as a better fitness record, it’s easy to understand why he would go for me.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ckgyjy04dlgo Not seeming to want to put a formal transfer request in and give up his ‘loyalty bond’ though is he…..

Ey, just teasing Ric given how much he used to rave over Alves. I know he was being tongue in cheek about Monga being the only positive but I would say the youth in general that is the case.
-
You have moved on from Alves then

Good signing for Charlton. Wouldn’t have minded him but I don’t think our fans would have accepted him. Charlton close to finalising Kelman deal Latest from Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth: Charlton are close to finalising a deal to sign QPRforward Charlie Kelman. Kelman spent last season on loan at League One side Leyton Orient and scored 27 goals in all competitions

Hopefully getting a couple yesterday might help encourage any interested parties to make a move. It’s a shame as we are so short up front and I do believe he can score regularly again in the right environment. However, when you are at the point he is here where a large part of the fan base are actively willing (and enjoying) his failure, there doesn’t seem any coming back from it.

If Southampton have gone for another piss around at the back merchant who causes them to have the same issues, that’s on them. But them having their own issues doesn’t excuse our own shambles. I actually think we have gone for a good appointment with Cifuentes. But a broken clock is right twice a day as they say.

I’m wondering about this opening game against Sheffield Wednesday. Things seem to be quieter around them the past few days but I’m not sure it’s a given that they are going to have a squad together start the season. Or if they do, it’s likely they stop competing during the season and the results clubs have against them count for nothing. Would it just be a 23 team league if the can’t fulfil fixtures? I guess probably at this point it would have to be and certainly once the season has started as you couldn’t compromise the integrity of the other leagues.
-
I’m not sure the new players bit applies to us either It’s a good point. I think it might make sense at the start of preseason, I.e to get everyone minutes. A couple of weeks to the first competitive game, I agree you’d want to see the squad together and gelling.
-
I tend to look at the players contract situation when people suggest them. Parrott is under contract until 2029 and has an estimated value of 14mill (that seems to be in euros not £. Either way, financially probably out of reach for us at that point in time.
-
People are asked to make changes in the work place. And only big changes would have a change in contract. Personally I don’t think staying one night in a hotel is a big change but I suppose that is a matter of opinion. What it says to me about him is he is someone who resists change and is inflexible.

The ‘next’ top priority sums them up…..

I do think we should move Braybrooke on for the sake of his career. He needs to find a home at a lower level and become established. Do what the big boys do and put a buy back in if he comes good but holding on to them and having them play kids football is stunting careers in the case of Braybrooke. It does seem to be something we are (forced by circumstances or by choice), looking to do better on but Sammy may well have missed the boat and been caught up by the next age down (Page and Cartwright).

Do we go into this coming season, without any new incoming players?
LCFCJohn replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
I get that. I agree not to boo them out on the opening day. However, expressing feelings from the stands whether to the players or the owner/DOF is the fans way of providing feedback for dissatisfactory ‘service’ in respect of their performance. I don’t think that clubs should be judged on winning week in week out but as I say, there are basic expectations we as fans should have in term of effort and showing they care and too many have repeatedly shown disregard when it comes to this. I realise the example was a poor one. Maybe you got to, I don’t know, a theme park or water park with your kids and loads of the rides are shut and you don’t get the experience but have paid full price. You’d want to feed that back as not satisfactory. The point you make about being emotionally attached is actually only going to add to peoples anger and frustration on top of the prices they have had to pay. I’d love us to have a clean slate as a club honestly I would. Do I think the likes of Faes and Soumare etc are suddenly going to do the same and show they care? Sadly I don’t. I hope that they can be moved on and we will be left with players who, even if limited, at least show they care such as Thomas and Justin and the young players. That way we do get a clean slate. -

If players are putting the effort in and are limited or just not good enough, I agree. If, as is the case with too many of ours, they don’t give a damn, stroll round putting zero effort in, while getting paid more in a week than most supporters do in a year, whilst said supporters are parting with their hard earned income to watch the team, hard disagree. Supporters are a paying customer (I don’t like using that term as that is the problem with how the club see us but in the context I am talking), so are entitled to provide feedback on an awful value for money service being provided. If they don’t like it, they can feel free to put a shift in that they are being paid extremely well for. Or take a reduction in pay to move elsewhere. Yeah I thought not to that as well. If you went into a restaurant and the waiting staff brought your food and it was cold, you raised it and they just smirked and shrugged and walked off, would you think it was inappropriate to provide feedback about the service? No I guess not so same principles apply. Not that it was really relevant to a thread about going with what we have, more an opportunity for you to have a dig at your fellow supporters at any chance I guess so more fool me for biting…. -
Who should be captain next season?
LCFCJohn replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
So have I. And my conclusion is that he is not a League 1 player as other say.
