I agree. And bring to the attention of national media like the BBC. We need to kick off about this as we don’t want our club connecting with this shit. If it’s national initiatives such as I think there was when supporting Ukraine, fair enough. But this singles us out. And who actually gives a f*** what Thailand and Cambodia are doing!

Let’s say it ends up being Vestergaard and Okoli next Sunday though, Nelson has more experience in the Championship than Okoli? Obviously I’d rather it be a pairing of Okoli and Nelson. I just worry that it will take a lot of balls from the manager to leave both the high paid Faes and Vestergaard out the side. Is Marti going to be that brave?

Really disappointing behaviour again. Hopefully the club gets charged. I imagine they might get away with it due to it being a friendly but definitely against FA and league rules. Relevant Rules & Regulations FA Rules – Rule E3 Prohibits “discriminatory” or “inappropriate” conduct, including political statements that might bring the game into disrepute. Premier League Handbook (or EFL equivalent) Contains clauses that prohibit political, offensive, or controversial content from being displayed via official club media, including perimeter boards, in-stadium screens, or matchday programmes. Clubs must seek prior approval for content on advertising boards (especially LED perimeter boards and jumbotrons). This even mentions military messaging; What Counts as “Political Messaging”? It can include: Flags or slogans related to conflicts, governments, or independence movements. Advertisements promoting government programs, military campaigns, or state-backed narratives. Messaging that may endorse or oppose specific legislation, referenda, or political parties. Hopefully it is picked up and they get charged and fined.

Good result and positives with the 3 behind the striker and youngsters playing. I really want Nelson to be first choice centre back though. He’s the future and good enough now. I really don’t want see us persist with Vestergaard and Faes unless it has to be one of them alongside Nelson.

My experience is very different. Very working class, honest people. I have never come across any that are arrogant or delusional. I notice some are showing themselves up on social media laughing at the Wednesday situation but apparently Wednesday fans mocked Rotherham when they were on the brink so all fan bases have a portion of idiots. Personally I don’t want any clubs to go bust but would enjoy a relegation or few from the likes of Forest, Coventry and Birmingham.
-
They since brought in £50mill or so for Kudus so that will be a way.
-
What’s wrong with United? Sheffield has two proper historic clubs with great fan bases and iconic stadiums. The rivalry is great as well and the city wouldn’t be the same without either of the clubs.
-
The irony being (and I agree with what you say), that in Coady’s case, the resale bit was fine. £2mill for him with a year left and his age is pretty decent. The problem was we overspent on him, fee and wages. Even if it had been £5mill, we would have turned a tidy PSR profit.

I personally think Stolarcryk proved himself at Premier League level last season given the mess in front of him, he did well given how he was chucked in. He out performed Hermansen (yes I realise Hermansen was carrying the injury when he came back). Most of our positive results were with Stolarcryk. He might not be as good with the ball as Hermansen but is better than him in commanding his area. Both are good shot stoppers. It’s so far down the list of positions we need to address. I’d be annoyed if we spent on a new keeper if Hermansen goes as it would be a waste of funds that could address the striker and central midfield positions as a bare minimum.
-
Nothing against him as such. He’s obviously intelligent to be planning for his post playing days. So I won’t insult him like many are. But he has not been good enough and nowhere near the fee and wages he has cost. Excellent business for us to remove deadwood with a year left for a fee. Hopefully frees us up a bit in the market. Hopefully he has a shocker when we play them. Beyond that I don’t have an interest either way. I neither wish him well or badly.

The EFL would genuinely be happy to see Wednesday go out of business if it meant they could give us a points deduction so they will go to any lengths they can to not give us the 3 points by default!
-
I have been very much in the Brownhill in camp as I think his leadership and goals from central midfield would be a great benefit to us. Im concerned about the fact he actually rejected Burnley’s offer for financial reasons. I doubt they offered him less. Either he must want a big raise or a longer contract which is a concern for me if we go down that route. Hopefully he will at least offer us a lot on the pitch and off if he comes. I guess if we can shift a few big wages from that area as well that would help. I just want us to be offering sensible contracts out going forwards.

James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)

Likeable guy but I really don’t think he’s been good enough for some time. Not his fault with the injuries. What do we need on him PSR wise? I think getting the wages off the books with a lot of young players coming through in his position would be wise. -
A lot of what you say at the end there is the same as our fanbase towards our Thai overlord! Obviously we are in nowhere near as bad a position. But yeah I was thinking in the day of Foristieri (so), Rhodes etc. But definitely you have been left for some time now with no investment. I hope you get it sorted. Living and working in Sheffield I hate what it is doing to the club and Owl supporting mates and colleagues. You posted something further up about Clive Betts and I must say, if something makes me agree with something Mr Betts has to say, it must be serious

My takeaway from this paying for their hotel thing is actually why they would need to. Even if it was Sheffield United who are in a good place making the trip, is a hotel stay for a 4.30pm kick off between Sheffield and Leicester really necessary? Loads of problems with getting people (not just the players but wider staff) paid and being able to just survive and fulfil fixtures but not sure that part is really an issue…

I suppose I am thinking what was Chansiri like a few years ago. Wednesday fans would have to answer that. He certainly was funding the side previously and wasn’t saying these things to fans. It seems like like Aiyawatt, he has inherited a business that he isn’t capable of running (the tuna business) and has not got to a point of struggling. Then the personal traits kick in, taking aim at the fans, refusing to sell for a reasonable price and basically being a thin skinned nepo baby. So although we are nowhere like that level and Aiyawatt isn’t like that now, I worry that he has similar traits in that the main business is struggling and he has shown himself to be thin skinned with the way he has address criticism after relegation and we refuse to sell players below our inflated value so if that translated to a sale of the club (if KP couldn’t sustain it) and along with the emotional attachment to Vichai and general sense of apathy, you could completely see a situation where things go down the Wednesday route. He might stop short of going full Chansiri so it likely wouldn’t get as bad but there are similarly worrying patterns imo.
-
Yeah I get you. Our infrastructure is better. I mean you can see the decline around the stadium due to lack of investment but given it is a much newer stadium than Hillsborough, we shouldn’t find ourselves in that position. And yeah, I could see the decline under Rodgers earlier than most did but I still wouldn’t have predicted quite the level of decline even though I thought we would be relegated if we kept him but the off the field stuff is beyond even that. But it is a worry, when you see people like Chansiri and Aiyawatt cut from the same cloth really, how much could he tank us?
-
In fairness they were doing alright a few years back and got to the play off final and another play off campaign so were close to getting promotion. They have gone on to decline massively but we have in the last 4 years since the FA Cup win. If you had said after the FA cup win, in 4 years time we’ll have been relegated twice, been in a PSR cycle, threats of deductions and embargo’s and the all round apathy from the club, you’d have been laughed out the room as being mad. Even the most negative fan couldn’t have seriously thought we’d be where we are today. It begs the question, where will we be 4 years from now? An Thai owner who is not bothered, overly sensitive and doesn’t take criticism well, inherited a business he is not skilled to manager and has tanked it and values things too highly meaning they can’t be shifted. Is that a description of Chansiri or Aiyawatt or both?
-
I think it has. Might have been one of Bury or Bolton. Probably Bury as they went further into the shit. Pretty sure results gained against them (if it was them) were wiped but I haven’t fact checked this!
-
A very good balance. I get those who criticise people still buying a season ticket in the sense of wanting change. I also understand people want to still go and support the team. The bigger problem is not people going but many of those going being up Aiyawatt’s arse but there’s no problem people being in the ground if the atmosphere is putting pressure on him. However, nobody needs to buy crap from the store, or overpriced food and drink in the ground. Where a retro shirt from years back, take your own food and drink. Like you say, not a penny outside of the ST.

6 largest city (population) in England apparently. Large metropolitan area when you include Rotherham and Barnsley too who have their own clubs but not big. Leeds further north, but I don’t come across Leeds fans living in Sheffield. Manchester across the Pennines. To be fair, it is a city where most shirts you see are Blades or Owls.

They are such an embarrassment In other news, Everton at it too with the women’s team… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cjey097w872o

The EFL are just sitting back and watching the club be destroyed. They really don’t care do they. Disgraceful. I hope they are rescued. Reading did at the last minute. It sounds like there are interested parties but Chancer is just hanging on. He needs to be forced to sell.
-
I don’t know anything specific, just speculating. All there staff (apart from the assistant who renewed his contact) have walked out today. They’ve lost a lot of players and can’t bring anyone in.
-
I think it would depend what happens. Hasn’t there been cases (maybe Bury) where a team has dropped out the league mid campaign and results against them are null and void as opposed to everyone getting a forfeit type result? In some cases, maybe another team is entered into the league in place of the team dropping out although you’d imagine that would have to happen much earlier than now due to the knock on effect of the league pyramid. So who knows but yes a forfeit would be the best outcome for us in the event they can’t honour the fixture. I’d imagine that is more for odd games whereas there’s a real damage Wednesday can’t manage the season.
