Was he an underwhelming signing? Sure. If we'd have gotten him on a free, I would've thought it was OK business to get an experienced forward, with some know-how and ability to win freekicks as a late sub. Hindsight is beautiful. It was still peanuts compared to the massive amount wasted on Skipp. We reportedly spent the same as Ayew on Golding (who?) in an FFP exercise (fat load of good that did us, huh?), so we definitely made worse deals that summer. Ayew still contributed 5 goals in our worst ever PL side, so he did at least make some contribution, albeit not a telling one. But he was well and truly abject last season.

Vargas with a goal and assist in 15 minutes. How Ndoye who did absolutely naff all except a fancy bicycle kick started ahead of Vargas is baffling. You could say it was the right decision given the impact, but the difference is quite stark.

Norway blew away Sweden inside 30 minutes a couple of weeks ago. I think if you finish bottom in a group with Switzerland, Kosovo and Slovenia, you have too many flaws to go deep in this tournament. Yes. He's made a name at FC Copenhagen over two spells, but hasn't done much of note outside of Scandinavia.

As a movie/story, LoB is coherent and is more relatable due to it's content. Holy Grail is Python at it's absurd best and therefore more niche. I think that's the main reason for LoB being held in that regard. Meaning of Life is pretty weak in contrast however.

Been covered before, but I don't disagree. Different types of players. Technically I don't think there's much doubt about that statement. Izzet was glorious, but Tielemans is probably the most gifted I've seen in a Leicester shirt along with Mahrez. The regularity of his elite level screamers, the superb passes and the way he would dictate tempo alongside Maddison when we were a good side... Those first couple of seasons under Rodgers were the most pleasing from an entertainment point of view, IMO. Lennon and Izzet were probably better allrounders with their combative 'British' styles and will understandably be held in high regard by Leicester fans.

I.e. surpassing South Korea's semi-final in 2002? I mean, that tournament obviously had many questionable/blatantly wrong decisions go in their favour, but I feel that's a big ask from Japan. I haven't looked at the draw, but getting out of the group will not be easy either. If Sweden find some mojo, they will be a threat. Tunisia are notoriously hard to beat too.
