  1. Well done to the fan groups for getting general sale, which really should be the norm. That said, i daresay those that haven't been to the football in a while, will be gobsmacked at the prices being charged and decide not to bother. That's a shame as it stops us getting new regular fans and its likely that those that do buy general sale will see it as a one off treat rather than a regular thing, given that they aren't already members or regular attendees . Ive been a regular and im put off by the pricing to the extent im refusing to attend any cat a or cat b games any more. Im just drawing the line at 50 quid for a ticket (as much out of principle as affordability for me). Cat c games and away games i can get a ticket for only, from start of this season. Im really not being negative for negative sake and it is a win but the pricing is the real issue here when it comes to selling out these less glamorous games. Im sure the fan groups are banging heads against a brick wall when they raise the issue of pricing with the club though.
  2. Add "pragmatic" to the list
  3. My old Sunday league manager . Cleans vomit from the centre circle and dog sh*t from the 6 yard box before ko, goes round knocking hungover star strikers up at 930am, expert at shouting get your flag up lino, top class water bottle kicker and gives his mates lad a run for ten mins at the end to keep everyone happy, doesn't tolerate players trying to get out of taking the nets down and ensures the kit wash rota is strictly adhered to. Ive also seen him do pearson style strangling wwe moves on occasion. Admirable qualities.
  4. Very true. Its a concern because theres some truth in the argument they are producing more off the bench than starting . What is it? A case of opposition tiring legs? Or a case of "ill show you for benching me"?
  5. I can live with that . I just don't want that AIDS again
  6. 👍 For a match attending fan nothing quite generates the excitement of a last minute winner or equaliser . Enjoy the moment .....its what being a supporter is all about. Do the inquest later
  7. I sneered when he signed but hes proving useful. Not elite but if he keeps knocking in equalisers and winners no complaints here. Jordan ayew ole ole indeed 👍
  8. Ha ha i jest. I have an American cousin. Im always having to pull him on terminology. Rvn pulling it off......cooper not so much 😂
  9. Sneakers ? Youll be calling it soccer next 😂
  10. He had a class air shot at Southampton
  11. I would 😂
  12. Hopefully white and not the one that makes me feel like ive done a sh*tload of drugs and hurts my eyes . But it probably will be the black id say...dont Ipswich have white shorts ......like we should have by the way 😂
  13. That heskey assist and claridge volley.....👌👌👌👌. Brilliant. Always loved seeing the east stand and family end on highlights. I was on tv a number of times as a kid before i graduated to the kop.
  14. Oh, is there a game tonight ?
  15. Its probably no coincidence that the lads at these games have probably been able to get in the ground for a couple of quid from a young age, with their mates and congregate together, without having to buy a membership, attend with an adult. Likely still affordable for people in late teens and early twenties too who are on a relatively low wage.
  16. Ill take it. Im great at showing a lack of interest , stropping, misplaced passes and missing easy chances
  17. United since ferguson shows what a class act Ferguson was. He won league titles with Darren fletcher in the side!!! That says a lot. He was also the boss.....the real boss, no time for prima Donna's or player power. His way or your out, regardless of reputation Im sounding like a united and ferguson fanboy here ......im really not but anyone who keeps young millionaire lads motivated and in check and gets their respect is rare these days. What city wouldnt give for a young ferguson clone right now !
  18. Sorry, but whilst it is sad, it isnt remotely similar. Not even close
  19. Oh ok. Fair enough then if you were listened to. Its only right on a discussion forum that everyone is allowed their say, even if others , including those than run it, disagree. Alls well that ends well in that case 👍
  20. Agree. Pathetic. Spoilt kid behaviour at best. Its my ball and you cant play unless i can win!!! And i too am not pro cooper.
  21. I do. And it's horrible.. Not just after Friday, just in general 😂
  22. I was a pen 2 regular myself. But i get the sentiment. In those days if youd mentioned a singing section or discussion on who contributes enough to an atmosphere, on a futuristic network you could access on a phone you carry in your pocket, you would have been laughed out of the swan and rushes or turnstile pubs. But sadly, I think we need to accept the game has changed. I wish it hadnt but it has. Im not one of these "the games gone mate" people because it hasnt totally .....see preston away, Southampton away and generally most away games. And therein is the answer. I think at most games these days the away end is better than the home end, regardless of the opposition or division . The very fact you travel away is an indicator that you are willing to make an effort, 7 or more hours on a coach to watch 90 mins of football. The songs are more varied, more regular and because the fans who want to sing are more concentrated, a greater percentage join in. I haven't been to a city game in a long time where ive experienced a better atmosphere amongst city fans at home than away. Home games these days are accesible to almost anyone willing to pay to be a member and pay the extortionate prices. That will include tourists, day trippers and yes, even genuine city fans who dont want to sing. Away days you sometimes have to beg steal or borrow a ticket and its usually the hard core who are willing to do that .
  23. I think that is a part of it but only a part. Ive lost count the number of times players face our supporters and throw their hands up in a gesture to increase the noise. I totally believe that if you are getting paid silly money for people who often can barely afford it to watch, then you should give your all but its human nature to give a bit more when you can hear 1000s ......ok, even just hundreds getting behind you. I think we all have a part to play. Besides, its not the theatre.....i dont go football to sit down with overpriced snacks and water and say "ok...entertain me".
  24. 2 together in p2 and 3 together in g1 as of 1 min ago. Still open for me
