  1. Neither do we. I think that's why one has ended up pinned to my daughters bedroom wall 😂
  2. A first glance of the thread title made me think someone was going to tell a story about their first meeting from a swingers site.....rather disappointed now
  3. England women v South Africa women. Cbs arena 29th October. I have 3 tickets for this. Two u16 and one adult, West Stand, block 35. U16s are next to each other, adult is a few rows back, same block. Its at the Cbs arena on Tuesday 29th. Bought them mainly for my daughter and her friend who inexplicably said they were free but now aren't as they got the day wrong!! £30 for the three tickets. Its below face value, I'm just hoping to claw a bit back on them . I'm in rugby but happy to meet halfway(ish) in say Lutterworth. Pm me.

  5. Ha yes I was at the back at Palace and it was awful...Best quote I heard was its like watching the game through a letter box. Very true. It was. Yes I think there's more chance when the games are moved, depending who it is. This year it seems every other game is in London and I think people like a day out in the smoke, or at the seaside.....Brighton and Bournemouth. Good luck in your quest for away tickets 😂
  6. I agree with the ballot being more or less hopeless. I think for this one because of the low allocation they knew it wouldnt get far down the brackets, which it won't. You can get away tickets as a member but you have to do the ones that are less appealing, not glamour games or are really far and/or midweek. I've done Palace and Southampton this season so far as a member and did I think 4 legitimately last season....the others I had to rely on others to get me tickets. I don't think the sales process for away games is particularly fair in truth but there have been plenty of moans about that before, including from me. I suppose whatever criteria they set, there will be some that are unhappy. It just feels that members get a raw deal . We aren't any less of a supporter and it's us that have to pay thru the nose for home tickets, buy a membership etc.
  7. It's bollocks that members can't get at these.
  8. Agreed. Or things like "glory to blessed Abdul, love gives him power to win. Mighty city blessed with luck forever. Greatest love to team for Premier league title" or the like gets very tiresome very quickly .
  9. I agree. For me the novelty has worn off. When the champions league first started it was all new and as you say, novel . Seeing barca v bayern, juventus v real Madrid etc etc was good. But it has become commonplace now. Nothing new, just two more teams playing that I don't care about. Routine. I don't even bother with the champions league now, not least because this season I don't understand the format and If I'm honest don't really care. Those big euro games used to be a treat, reserved for once or twice a season when they reached the semis or final. Now it's overkill
  10. I think the rivalry depends on where you are. Growing up in North Leicester and later time in Loughborough I felt the forest / Leicester rivalry. I live in rugby now and this is well and truly Cov City country. There is genuine hatred for us here from the Cov City lot. My daughter is one of only 2 or 3 Leicester fans at school and her phone was off the scale pinging with messages from Cov City "friends" at half time on Saturday. Strangely, an hour later it was silent 😂😂 For me though its always the forest rivalry. I was bought up on it and worked with them. Tell us about 1980 again mate, you don't tell that story often enough 😂
  11. There's the odd mystical rumour every so often that a member is successful in a ballot but I haven't seen it myself (despite entering every one for 2 years). Maybe it's a folk story to be passed from generation to generation, sitting around the fire while people listen open mouthed hearing about the time someone got an away ticket. 😂
  12. Mate, taking the mick is and always has been part of football culture and pub culture for as long as I can remember . That's all I'm doing here. I haven't called you names or insulted you. The fact is over the years, some appalling chants about Hillsborough, munich, Robert maxwell and helicopter crashes have been heard. This is disgraceful . But you are worrying about someone saying the C word weeks before it may or may not happen. It isn't a word I'd use to call my mum and dad when they beat me at cards, but at football there has always been what the commentators call industrial language...truth be told, I probably wouldn't sing it myself but seriously, nobody can really do much about what hundreds of people choose to shout at a football match. I've been called a fat bast@rd at matches before. I could spend days worrying about it beforehand or I could just do what I did.....laugh and lift my shirt and rub my tum.
  13. Also please can we not boo the ref (it's a tough job), sing about arsene wenger chatting poo (didn't swear) and getting banged (too violent), stay seated throughout, refrain from waving those pesky flags and blocking people's view with tifos and keep goal celebrations to a minimum. Polite applause and a handshake with the chap next to you will suffice, rather than all that awful jumping around and screaming...its most unbecoming. If we can keep to those simple rules it would be most appreciated . I thank you.
  14. Until you think you've finished and dribble all over the floor 😂.
  15. Brilliant day, brilliant scenes in our end! Atmosphere 2nd half and especially after we scored, right until we got to our coach was fantastic. Our end was rocking!!! I moan about prices and say the game isnt what is was at times but yesterday was really what it's all about and why we spend best part of 100 quid to follow city 140 odd miles. Moments like that make it worthwhile. As supporters the reality is we have no real control over who the manager is or who starts (although I do like to think the chants for fatawu before the sub were heard by Cooper) and after my initial groans, for the following 90 mins, i just didn't care. This is my escape, as it likely is for many others, and nothing else matters for 90 mins. I saw fight from the players and that gets the crowd going. And yesterday for me was bang on. Well worth the pulled calf muscle, pulled abdominal muscle and hoarse voice I got from jumping around and shouting like a loon. I'd do it all again today 😂. Good, good end!
  16. Thats definitely the definitive 5-0. In the town hall square fountain afterwards.....I'll never forget one lad carefully taking off his shoes and socks on the benches 😂😂
  17. It's a costume? ???
  18. Ha ha he has a point. I know he was ex Derby and forest but he was one of the few that didn't speak in soundbites or trot out the same crap. All this tactical analysis is mind numbing ......as I think Brian clough might well have said as well......9 times out of ten the team with the better players wins.
  19. I'm the same. Any live game or match of the day, I can't be bothered with the analysis, interviews etc. It goes on at kick off and immediately off at the final whistle. They all say the same b0llocks anyway. There's a good clip of Brian clough telling motson that nobody wants to listen to you talking about the game, just show more of the game . Well said Brian....below....about 3 mins onwards
  20. I was in Spain (real spain, not a benidorm type resort) for this one and the Blackburn game (which was either just before or just after, I can't remember). Both games were 1-0 to city with rooster getting the goals. These were the days before Internet and mobile phones and I couldn't get a paper for results for love nor money. I had to rely on crackly phone calls to my not particularly interested in football mum for the scores. I'd got one of the results and scorer from her but when I phoned again after the 2nd game and she said 1-0 to city, Russell scored I remember being particularly annoyed......no mum that was the last game.....they played tonight as well.....you've got it wrong ...........I wouldn't have it!!!! Sorry mum.😂
  21. ha ha im pretty sure it isnt the official term, but ive always called it the flower or the original badge. glad you approve though. And you knew what i meant!
  22. Not a buyer of modern shirts, but nice to see the Adidas flower making a comeback on a few kits. Give me a retro style city shirt with an adidas flower and running fox badge and thats something i'd buy
  23. Just got my daughter and her friend tickets for the england v South africa friendly at the Coventry Bull Sh*t arena (my take on the CBS name.....sorry). Im all for girls getting to see women play and its good that they play all around the country but I think they have the pricing wrong here. Some seats at 40 quid for adults (ive had to pay 25 for me). We went to the England game at the KP last year and that was a tenner each for adults and 5 or 6 for kids and they sold out. They got it spot on. But i think they have missed a trick here. Its half term week against weak opposition. Lower the prices and theres a good chance of a full stadium for the girls to enjoy. As it is, it will likely be half full. Come on, lets not monetise the womens game to within an inch of its life like they have done with the mens game.
  24. Your right. I've just checked. It was 2007 I went. Funny how you remember things, dates just blur into one. But in any case the sentiment remains the same. I enjoyed seeing these Old grounds before they vanished.
  25. I'll take your word for it. I've been there anyway before they moved. We drew 1-1.
