This will have been covered already no doubt, but Friday’s defeat (under the manager they sacked) was yet another stark reminder of how far this club has fallen. That shouldn’t be lost on the fanbase, and not only are Forest now ahead in footballing terms, they’re also more likely to have an expanded ground before ourselves. This would have been unthinkable not so long ago. Some Forest fans said this was the most comfortable win since their promotion, which says it all really.

The crux of the home atmosphere issue comes down to the layout, and that's been the case for over 20 years now. Of course, the acoustics also play a part. The club introduced the SK1 section in 2022 which hasn't solved the ongoing debate, mainly due to its size and in my view, location. Ultimately, there needs to be a significant relocation of fans to at least provide the best possible setup for the atmosphere, and it's common knowledge the amount of other clubs who have done this. Hopefully with the new fan engagement framework this can be achieved but if it was to happen, there would surely need to be a consultation so that the fanbase can finally find some common ground. On Forest, it was apparent to me way before now the differences between the two fanbases. The key one being the level of pride they take in their own support, and our fans just don't seem to share the same mentality.

During that period of time when Maresca was announced as manager last summer, there was talk about the fact we hadn't appointed someone with a ceiling in terms of what can be achieved, whereas this isn't really the case for managers in Cooper's bracket. This hasn't helped with the enthusiasm of his appointment I would say, and as has been mentioned by others on here, it's also an easy argument to make about the Forest link and while that's partly true, criticism has been more about his actual qualities as a manager. In reality though, there was going to be a limited pool of managers to attract this summer, and Cooper has shown he has been up for the challenge even in the face of a points deduction. So do hope he makes a success of it here.

Society is obviously evolving all the time and football seems to be going more this way. We're clearly not the only club who caters for the modern type of fan, but it feels like our club do it in the extreme.

Notts Forest (H) Friday 25th October 8pm
FoxesTalker replied to FoxinNotts's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just to add to the recent talk about both clubs successes, our history in the modern era speaks for itself and it's what has made us a modern day big club. To be one of only five teams since the turn of the century to have won all three major trophies, brings about a huge sense of pride and will do for years to come. Forest will feel similarly about what they've achieved in the past, and their success can't just be discounted because it was in different times. To me, football is all about history so don’t really agree with this living in the past argument. -
This is obviously a prime example of the club being out of touch with the average fan, but more than that, it also shows they do not grasp English football culture. Just pains me to see what the club has become.

This one is probably the toughest out of these run of games, especially given how they've started. My view on the rivalry itself comes down to where you're located within the two cities, which is why when they label their entire fanbase as not caring it's just not true. In fairness, would say the majority of Forest fans do see Derby as bigger rivals, but also know about plenty who view this game with the same level of importance. It is of course the 'traditional' rivalry after all. The viewpoints of both @South Notts NFFC and @ForestAreMagic would be interesting unless I've already missed this. -
I’m all for supporting any manager who is in charge of the club, and the same goes for Cooper. That being said, will draw the line at calling him Stevie Cooper as a general rule. Just doesn’t seem right.

Let's hope the club haven't picked up any such ideas from that Southampton game.
-
The south coast doesn't strike me as one of the passionate football areas of the country, in the same way that the Midlands does for example. The main factor in forming that opinion are the experiences of going away to clubs all over, as that provides a comparison.
-
Just my opinion, and @AKCJ's post is partly what I was getting at.
-
The goal music for their first goal was bad enough, then for the second it was even worse. Still, would say Southampton have more about them than Brighton or Bournemouth, even if all three clubs do have an underlying soft mentality.
-
There's obviously certain aspects that myself and many others don't like about home matchdays, but there's also decent elements as well. Saturday made me realise that more, and made me even more glad we don't have goal music.

The website showed one single ticket available in the stadium a few weeks ago, so would suggest it’s more to do with the resale platform.
-
Yes can appreciate that side to it, and although we don’t know all the ins and outs, it’s not a good look.
-
Once again it comes back to the point of needing 'football people' within the club. The continued level of disregard shown in these decisions is obviously disheartening, but it's also very damaging for the future of our fanbase, which has been a concern raised by many.
-
I'm not sure the new PA announcer is as bad as some are making out, and personally speaking, didn't like Brad's style at all as he typified the club's soft mentality when it comes to home match days.
-
Ah yes I’ve only just noticed the attached image isn’t showing on mobile, strangely it was visible on each of the previews when I posted it at the time. Anyway, here it is again.
-
Just a quick one. Thought it would be worth mentioning FT is now displaying like this on Chrome as a search result, which is different from before.
-
This seems to happen on a regular basis, where an allocation has already sold out and yet a group of tickets become available. The club reserving tickets for staff has been mentioned on here before, can't really think of any other explanation.

Southampton vs Leicester (A) - October 19th
FoxesTalker replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
Disagree with that, would say the majority just want a better manager tactically, not that it has to be the Russell Martin/Maresca type of football. Maresca has more advanced tactics than Cooper, but that style would have brought about its own issues this season as Southampton are finding out. Also think it's fair to say that the overall reaction to being 15th at this stage would have been a lot different if Maresca was still in charge. -

This. Prior to that game, they'd only won once all season at home. Different circumstances for this one but it has a very similar about it, needs to be a win though. -

They’re such a waste of resources, and there’s every chance what you’ve said here was also going on in other areas of the ground. -
Like I've said in a separate post, it feels like the Bournemouth result only serves to prolong his time here. Hopefully it's different to that and the first win actually builds some momentum from now on in.
