That's awesome. Out of interest, how is Monza priced compared to the British GP? I couldn't believe how loud the grandstands sounded on the TV about 7 laps from the end when it became obvious that Charles was one stopping. Sounds like a great time.

Probably too late though. Between Hungary and Italy they have let 17 points fall the other way. Piastri has clearly the made the case that he isn't prepared to be a Massa or Bottas and I don't think he is really going to be that bothered about Lando's title win. Hungary seemed like a bit of a shift at McLaren - I think Stella sees more in Piastri and I wouldn't be surprised if Lando wasn't wearing different colours to start 2026, maybe replacing Verstappen at Red Bull? I'd have a guess at something like this in 2026... Mercedes - Verstappen / Antonelli Ferrari - Leclerc / Hamilton* Red Bull - Norris / Lawson McLaren - Piastri / Sainz Aston Martin - Russell / Stroll*
-
I can understand why McLaren asked Norris to let Piastri through a few weeks ago as it was for a first place and the undercut was inadvertant but I can't understand why they didn't switch the cars todays. No threat from Sainz so the end result is the same for the team but would have given Lando an extra few points over Max. I can't imagine Lando getting another opportunity at the WDC while in the same team as Oscar.

On the plus side we are only two points behind Man Utd and have a better goal difference

Good to get a fresh face in a top car. F1 drivers careers are much longer now and seats don't come up often so could easily have ended up getting lost in the shuffle like others have if he sticks around in F2. Mercedes don't really have a lot of choices of where to put drivers now - Williams want experience, Aston effectively only has one seat and McLaren are flying and have a great lineup. Maybe they could have convinced alpine to put him their seat over Doohan as they want an engine but exciting to see what he can do in the works team.

I thought midfield was our big weakness last season so think we are stronger there. Definitely weak at CF but who isn't, there are barely any good strikers in European football for the biggest sides let alone those in the next tiers down. I agree that there just aren't many options worth spending money on. Fees for strikers are insane because there aren't many good ones anymore. It's depressing.

Marc Albrighton Retires From Football
mancunianfox replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Glad he retired as a fox too. A lot of that side can retire satisfied that they lived up to 100% of their potential and Albrighton is another one of those. Absolute class act and probably our best ever free transfer. -
Didn't Herbert pick up an injury in pre season too? I think going from Staley to Harbaugh is a massive upgrade though and should be worth a few wins. Dicker is really good too. Problem for Chargers is the same for my Broncos - The Chiefs still look in total control of the division. Broncos have had a bit of a youth movement largely which is needed because we are paying Russell Wilson $40m not to be on the team. Rookie QB Bo Nix looks a good fit in Payton's system and has had a great camp and pre-season. Jonah Ellis looks like a good pass rusher too. I am still worried about our defence, especially at linebacker and safety and we don't have many blue chip players outside of Surtain. This year is a transition year and we just want to see something good from the young players even if we don't win that much - we have had so many bad or average drafts that a rebuild was badly needed.

I have been wondering this too. I don't think it is too surprising that depression, anxiety, neurodiverse conditions are being diagnosed more as it is discussed so much more, especially on social media. I have struggled with depression since I was a kid (pre social media) which I now understand as triggered by body dysmorphia. I didn't realise what the actual cause was though until it started being discussed more recently. Not sure if that really helps though, I am probably more aware of it now than ever. Anytime I open up about my feelings to anyone I feel infinitely worse so nobody really knows about it but if I was younger maybe I would be more prepared to talk about it openly. I suspect it is something that has always been there but people are encouraged to be more open about it now. I think we just have different ways to express how difficult life is and always has been for most people.

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)

Have you ever paid any attention to transfers (especially ours), 50% of them usually end up being rubbish! -
Leicester 1- 1 Tottenham Post Match Thread

Indifferent on that one, Mahrez was here longer and stayed after winning the league. Kante was/is an amazing player but it is a real shame that he left after one season and we didn't get the chance to see what would have happened if we had kept the team together. By the time Mahrez went the magic was long gone. -

I don't think this excuses it but players who leave for 'bigger' clubs than us is different to the way we feel about the likes of James and King who had their best years with us. I could never bring myself to dislike Mahrez even with the way he left but all the others I have hoped that they fail. -

It looked like a lot of games from last season just with the roles reversed. Very few teams in this league have really good finishers, so not too surprising that they didn't take their chances. -
Weirdest thing about that graph is it's actually only one bad season out of five...
-
They were there to present the trophy to the winning driver, I can't imagine anyone paid for that as most likely there by invite of the BRDC trying to firm up government support early doors.
-
Might as well have a look at him...with so few good centre forwards around we are going to have to pull some rabbits out of hats to find someone cheap as almost every side in the division could use an upgrade at striker. Is Cannon really a worse option to keep than Daka? Only Man City, Newcastle, Villa, Bournemouth, Palace, Forest and Wolves should be happy with having a reliable option currently and the last two of those are debateable. Name Club App Goals Erling Haaland Manchester City 31 27 Alexander Isak Newcastle United 30 21 Ollie Watkins Aston Villa 37 19 Dominic Solanke AFC Bournemouth 38 19 Jean-Philippe Mateta Crystal Palace 35 16 Nicolas Jackson Chelsea FC 35 14 Chris Wood Nottingham Forest 31 14 Matheus Cunha Wolverhampton Wanderers 32 12 Hee-chan Hwang Wolverhampton Wanderers 29 12 Julián Álvarez Manchester City 36 11 Darwin Núñez Liverpool FC 36 11 Carlton Morris Luton Town 38 11 Richarlison Tottenham Hotspur 28 11 Rasmus Højlund Manchester United 30 10 Elijah Adebayo Luton Town 27 10 João Pedro Brighton & Hove Albion 31 9 Rodrigo Muniz Fulham FC 26 9 Callum Wilson Newcastle United 20 9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin Everton FC 32 7 Odsonne Edouard Crystal Palace 30 7

The candidates will already know the result before they get read out which is probably why she was so delayed getting on stage. I think she is trying not to react at all as she knows that this is not only her Portillo moment but that it'll now be a Liz Truss moment from now on.
-
Depending on how Reform do I can see a scenario where they merge with the Tory party and he becomes leader. Would take them to win a lot of seats most likely and of course for Farage to win his.
-
Does anyone play with wingers anymore? At this point the inverted wide forwards who come inside all the time are so common place that I don't see why it shouldn't work. Plus Mavididi might suit having a bit more freedom. We don't have any viable number 10 option currently so systems that allow us to play without one are probably not a bad idea.
-
I can't imagine what keeping Magnussen achieves. If they want an experienced driver i would have thought somone like Bottas may be a better option. I did think about Ocon but not sure you would want to pair him with your promising rookie driver.

Not really a surprise but Bearman joining HAAS next year is a good signing. He could be in with a good shot at replacing Lewis in the main team in a few years if he does well so interesting to see how he gets on.

Holloway surely for binface/monster raving loony

Given he was assistant and saw the Man City treble winning team everyday you would think he has a pretty good idea of what is required at a club that wants to be where Man city is. Does make this interest all the more stranger to me.
