I remember my first visit to Zambia almost 20 years ago, reading the first line of the Lonely Planet book, which said “Anything that CAN go wrong in Zambia, WILL go wrong in Zambia”. After another couple of visits there I had to concur with that assessment. I now feel the exact same way about the UK.

I'm old enough to remember when the League Cup was referred to as the "Mickey Mouse Cup" in the 90s because the big clubs never took it seriously and just played the kids. Non "big club" winners in the 80s and 90s were: Norwich, Oxford, Luton, Forest (twice), Wednesday, Villa (twice), and Leicester City . Since 2000 however, when the "Big Six" money snowballed and their squads and youth academies expanded, the non "big six" winners have been: Leicester City (2000), Blackburn (2002), Boro (2004), Birmingham (2011), and Swansea (2013) In the last 24 years Liverpool have won it 5 times, Manchester United 5, Manchester City 6 times (in the space of 8 years and 4 in a row), Chelsea 3 times and Tottenham once. Non "big six" finalists in that time were: Tranmere (2000), Birmingham (2001), Bolton (2004), Wigan (2006), Villa (2010, 2020), Cardiff (2012), Bradford (2013), Sunderland (2014) and Southampton (2016). Newcastle were finalists in 2023 but that was after their acquisition by the Saudi state. My point is, these "big clubs" fixtures are only congested because they specifically chose to dominate these competitions.

They’ve fixed it but for some reason Enzo prefers Daka instead.

In the EFL, yes. In the Premier League by the time we go up, probably yes, but only for non-big six clubs. -

The illusion of the sport being a fair competition. -
This came up on my 'memories' timeline with the caption below: The last 10 years at Leicester City have produced this. What do the next 10 years hold? The first six of those next 10 years: 2018 - Midtable and owner died in a helicopter crash outside the stadium 2019 - Midtable 2020 - 5th and a League Cup Semi Final 2021 - 5th and an FA Cup win 2022 - 8th and a Europa Conference League Semi Final 2023 - 18th and relegated from the Premier League 2024 - Proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the Premier League and the English Football League are absolutely corrupt 2025 - A billion-pound cash injection from compensation from the Premier League, EFL and Manchester City 2026 - Then another hilarious miracle occurs 2027 - Champions League winners

What we need now is for Kane to "open up" about how losing to Leverkusen is almost as bad as that time Leicester pipped them to the title

Their overall recommendations to the independent panel was a 17 point deduction, which eventually has been slashed to 8.
