In fairness mine looked gold after about 10 years.

He was going to get them relegated wasn’t he? Absolutely gutted.

If he comes here I will personally pay for a statue of Harold Bishop.

I grew up loving F1. Shared it with my dad, his best friend and a few of my friends too. We'd all get up in the middle of the night for the races on the other side of the world. Towards the end of the 2000s when F1 made the timings available (for free as well) we'd follow it along in even more detail. I'll never, ever forget that Canada race (2010 I think) where it had been delayed for 2 hours or so by a hurricane; me and my oldest friend happened to be together and were following it along, working out that Button was on one before it became more apparent. Then in the early 2010s they announced Sky had bought the rights. It was beyond my means at the time and especially beyond my dad's friend's means. But what angered me more than it being so expensive was the fact they thought keeping half of the races for free on national telly was a good offer. It had gone from being completely free to being expected to pay Sky a huge mount of money for access to just half the product. We all lost interest in the sport after that, and lost that shared enjoyment too. I sit down to watch a race now and I just cannot rediscover that enjoyment. What I loathe most is how we as fans and consumers just sat by and accepted it. Same as the cricket, which disappeared from free to air when I was a child. Same as the football. There really ought to be more awareness about how much we're being ripped off to access our own culture. Things need to change, they really do.

Is Musk still tweeting or has he passed out for the night?

Someone’s getting merked. Soon. Cant decide who.

This but it’s Musk dressed exactly like Dr Evil. 👌

As someone partial to moustaches there’s certainly a lot to choose from. Shame that they’re all *****.

The sport is completely broken.

In 22/23 we'd just won the FA Cup a year before, reached the semi finals of the Europa Conference League, and spent 2 seasons mostly in the Top 3 and competing for a Champions League place. The wages we were paying had been agreed and signed off in that context between 2019-2022, at a time we were growing, proving we were capable of achieving our ambitions and within a completely different set of financial rules. Revenue was down because of COVID and failure to qualify for the Champions League (and because the Premier League directly controls the revenue of smaller clubs).

That series was quite a good return to form... until the last two episodes. RTD2 completely fumbled it. Seriously disappointing. No offence to Piper but it just seems like this show has run out of ideas. It'll wind up Laurence Fox tho, which is nice.
