LCFC 2-3 Sheff Utd, post-match thread
DAS Boot replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
The defending for that first goal is just indefensible. We’re an embarrassment. -
Is this what its come to?
-
He was with Azaz and in a good position but as soon as Azaz got the ball he backed off him giving him the room to have a free shot on goal and score. If he'd have stayed tight to Azaz, I don't see how he could have gotten a shot off, or squared the ball up. If that was Faes, he'd have gotten slaughtered. In fact, against Man Utd at home last season, Faes was indeed roundly criticised for not pressing the ball when Hojlund scored, even though there was another defender in the vicinity. He's a kid and he will learn and should definitely get another chance. The second goal and the 2 yellows aside, he looked more capable than Thomas.

Yes other players could have done more for the 2nd but his part in it was bad. Having said that, he is a young guy and was thrown in at the deep end so rightly gets cut more slack than the Chuckle Brothers. After his suspension, he should definitely come back in. He won't learn if he doesn't play and the season is over so nothing to lose.

Experience or not, his defending for the 2nd goal was really bad.

Mads Hermansen sold to West Ham - Official

It was £20m. If it was £30m and we spent £10m on a replacement, nobody would have griped over the fee. The fact that we ended up with £20m and didn't have to buy a replacement, for some reason wasn't taken into account by those complaining. -

I think he was just an average goalkeeper that had a great season in the Championship which many keepers do. As soon as we were promoted, his lack of physical presence really showed through, even more so since his move to West Ham. We got a really good deal. -
Still needs to go. Really bad manager.

What for?

Just sh!t myself reading that.
-
Didn’t think he was overly good but still twice as good as Faes.
-
This is being missed a bit amongst the ‘Fiorentina are crap’ comments. We’ve played a lot worse this year and hardly crossed the half way line. Why? Whilst QPR weren’t overly brilliant, they did seem to attack in the manner MC referenced when he arrived. Makes no sense how he’s setting the team up and how we’re playing.
-
He doesn’t know what he’s doing. I’m not saying that in a usual, moaning fan type of way. I actually don’t think he knows what he’s doing.
-
When he turned up for that first interview in tracky bottoms and a suit jacket, ‘Pound Shop Enzo’ was my first thought. He’s a very average manager who’s main skill appears to be talking a good game. 100% not what is required right now. Unfortunately the man we needed when Enzo left and when Cooper left and when Ruud left was Dyche but unfortunately, that ship sailed so we’ll end up with yet another manager obsessed with a style of football 2 years out of date.

It definitely has immigrant shelf life potential as a source of blame.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

Really didn't think we'd miss him quite as much as we have. -
I think the thing that will save us this year is that the league is absolutely atrocious. If Top and Rudkin are still here, I imagine we'll be going down next season.

Julián Carranza joins on loan - Official

I get why a lot of people want to give him a bit of leeway. Christ people were calling for us to sell Vardy after the first season so to err on the side of caution isn't an overly bad thing to do. Having said that, and even taking into account the bad service, inconsistent game time etc, i'm afraid this bloke looks crap. So crap i'm happier to see Ayew playing up front rather than him. It has been such a long time since we've signed a striker that has actually been decent. -
Its bad and there really doesn’t appear to be any signs that it could get better. I don’t want us to turn into a joke by calling for and continuously sacking managers when they’re not immediately amazing, however that starting lineup last night was just mind blowing. Its as if he drew the names out of a hat. Being an armchair manager is easy, I get that and we don’t see training etc. But regardless of how much slack I cut, my god, I cannot understand why Soumare is anywhere near a starting 11. I hate saying stuff like this but i’ve been watching football for 40 years and I cannot remember a player that has such little quality across all aspects of their game, but continues to get game time. Its been said elsewhere but I think out of the current squad, maybe 4 would get anywhere near a Nigel Peason squad. Didn’t really appreciate at the time just how good that management team was. Pearson Shaky Stowell Walsh 4 blokes who absolutely knew their stuff, all pulling in the same direction. I don’t think looking back is a helpful thing to do but christ, it’s hard not too right now.

It's unlikely we'll sign anyone in Jan but if we do, absolutely every penny of the budget needs to go on a striker. We simply cannot continue to operate without a striker capable of hitting double figures. It's ridiculous.
-
Oh Jordan James is on loan We’ll never buy outright Its not because he’s not good enough It’s because our board is shite We’ll enjoy him whilst we have him Then boo when comes back Unless by some miracle Top sells the club and we get a competent owner that knows what he’s doing and sacks Rudkin… Oh Top you effin tw@t OHHHH
-
This is the transfer that really highlighted just how badly run we’d become. A player that was clearly good enough, that had one foot through the door and the second foot all agreed to cross the threshold, good age and highly likely profitable resell value. Just unforgivable.
