  1. Deserves it for the fist pumping nonsense at the end of the game last week like they'd just secured promotion. Sky spent that game saying how they've sorted their defence out and built on it. Since then they've shipped 8 goals to Hull, Bristol and Hudds. The forum's been going all Polly Pissypants about Saints catching us, they're going to be undefeated and they've got an easy run-in. Conveniently forgetting this division doesn't work on form guides.
  2. Little moved Walsh up front earlier in the season. He'd been sent off a couple of times (of about 9 in his career) and he wanted him away from aggro with strikers and contributing not sitting in the stands. He was forming a good understanding with Joachim when he did his ACL. We struggled for about a month hitting long high balls up to Joachim and Speedie before we signed Iwan Roberts (from Hudds I think) for the usual £300k. The guy comes in bags two against Wolves on his debut and a hat-trick against Derby. Cult status achieved. Iwan had hamstring injury for a few weeks before the final and Walsh told Little that even if he was only 20% he'd play at Wembley. As it was, Little played Ormondroyd, Walsh AND Roberts up front and left Joachim on the bench til late in the game. We literally played "Gerritt Forward" football for 80 minutes and that cross and header was about our only bit of quality in the whole game. Still my greatest Leicester game, ahead of anything even in the title season or the cup win. It's a great sliding doors moment because without that win Little would have ended up quitting and all the years afterwards of McGhee/ONeill etc probably don't happen.
  3. Absolute bunfight division 🤣
  4. Just like Kavanagh on Saturday, another one who's forgotten how to ref without a video helper. He'll be letting all sorts of challenges go presuming his mate in the box will ask him to go the tellybox if it's wrong. Needs a sensible head reffing the game like Allison or Singh. Both have been exceptional when we've had them this season.
  5. It is a bit Having 78 points at this stage of the season should be enough for even our doubters. We've scrapped out wins from tight games like Rotherham and QPR away, battered the likes of Stoke and Blackburn and arguably should have had maximum points from both games Vs Ipswich and Leeds at home. There's been the odd lapse and frustrating game but it's the Championship, it's a long old slog. Rather be looking at it glass half full.
  6. If it came down to that he'd move Ricky forward to the 8 role and keep Hamza as a 6/full back. Nacho has played 8/10 for Nigeria. Did it at the last AFCON but I'm not sure if he played it at this one. But TBH if he was going to be played in that role for the club I think he would have been used there already.
  7. Oh God can you imagine? Players running out to Saints at home to a "Visit Thailand" tifo
  8. 100% one of a few that weren't. Tielemans first full season where Youri went totally out of form, Praet had a spell of 10-15 games where he looked like the best Belgian midfielder at the club. It was only that hamstring rip that ruined his season. Not quite sure what happened with Rodgers behind the scenes but you get the impression Dennis felt he was better than the bench and the sporadic game time didn't help him get his fitness back.
  9. The majority of away ends haven't sold out this season, even Boro had about 200 leftover tickets. The only risks would have been Leeds, Cov, maybe Sunderland or Wednesday but we're not talking about Napoli or some Dutch nutters, they're low-grade Championship fixtures available on the telly and club TV stations. We've had Hudds, Rotherham & Watford down here this season with empty blocks and thousands of unsold tickets. I've seen Prem clubs like West Ham doing kids for a quid this season. Games should have been on General sale and even if we don't offer KFAQ then you give the unsold away blocks to local schools and youth clubs. The PA and marketing side of this club has been a shambles for years, it's like it's run by rejects from the Apprentice with zero business or commercial nous between them.
  10. No I know that and he lasted a fair way into the Sheff Wed game too but he LOOKS shattered. You can see him in the second half of games noticeably slower and taking a lot longer to get back after forward runs. It's not a criticism, it's totally expected of any player after a long lay off but its got to be taken into account with two games a week for most of the season now.
  11. Apparently not doing anything spectacular is a reason to be unimpressed these days. Scored in the cup and was a goalkeeper's fingertip from being on the scoresheet against Stoke. Was nowhere near as wasteful with his passing as KDH yesterday and is doing the simple things well. He's probably not as creative as he could be but I can say that with most of the midfield. We lack a final pass or players who can spot a run. My biggest concern is his fitness. Looks shattered by half-time and in the same way as the strikers and LBs get rotated maybe he should be sharing the 8 role with Yunus. He's taken ages to get into the side and the lack of football is taking it's toll a bit compared to the others.
  12. Mads Faes Vesty Doyle Ricky Winksy Yunus KDH Abdul Mavididi Cannon I was thinking we need to be changing Daka and Justin but this game will need all the players to be fit and Praet's barely making half time at the moment. I don't have as much of a downer on him as some but his lack of match fitness will be an issue with an intense game like this. I've got a feeling Enzo will stick him and Daka but he's got to be concerned about the thought of Justin up against the likes of Summerville and Gnonto when he just made Ayling look like Trent Alexander Arnold.
  13. Which has been the case all season.
  14. Absolutely no-one was thinking this after we battered Stoke and the last time it was mentioned was after we lost to Cov. There's more than enough squad depth to cover the odd injury.
  15. You probably need to read the Percy interview with the Telegraph. I'd say our goal tally this season would prove you wrong on your attacking points.
  16. Atmosphere at Stoke and the last two home games was banging, the noise is spreading a bit. Tifo looked incredible, well done to all involved in that again.
  17. No reason to panic, one of those days. If Vestergaard puts that header away after 5 minutes it's a different game. Changes going forward - Cannon must start ahead of Daka, Doyle must start ahead of Justin who barely got a game til his injury. Beat Leeds and start again.
  18. Mostly 5s apart from Justin who deserved minus points today. That was one of the worst full back displays I've seen in a City shirt. Barely got a pass right and made Luke frigging Ayling look like prime Cafu. Over hitting a ball to Cannon by 30 yards should have had him hooked. Doyle til May please.
  19. Have you met Sky? They're like those army generals that used to move toy soldiers round a battlefield without care or consequence.
  20. You can find similar scenes of Forest's brilliant "atmosphere" pre-Cooper too. Half empty City Ground, smattering of applause as they struggle between 16th and 19th. I think it was Talksport earlier saying that Nunoball isn't getting the locals off their seats and the famous Forest atmosphere is in hibernation. I spotted the clappers coming back at Fulham the other night. The disease spreads if it's left untreated.
  21. I'm sure Vesty stepped up Huth-style a couple of times earlier in the season. Seem to recall us being 3 or 4-0 up and Big Jan stepped up to attempt a thunderbstard. If you don't have a specialist, having someone who can fizz one through the wall would be the next best idea.
  22. Except VK said in an early-season interview after his move that a big part of him moving was that he doesn't want to play that CB/LB hybrid role as he sees himself as just an LB and stated very soon after Enzo arrived he wanted to move on. Shame as he's a decent LB.
  23. The system suits him more than anything Rodgers tried to get him to play. Gets to be mobile like KDH without needing to spray the ball around like Winks. It's clear he'll need a run of games to prove - to himself as much as anyone - that he can stay fit and trust his body not to pick up some other strain or pull. Expect to see his run of not completing most games continue til he gets game fitness back.
  24. If he was at all competent we're 3-0 up from that breakaway at the end of the first half. Does ANYONE know what he pulled it back for? It's another case of job done, move on. You can tell we picked up a lot of our current whingers in the last ten years. Some of them clearly don't know or have never experienced the second half of the season slog that is the Championship. Games like tonight on saturated pitches with "committed" opposition defenders are why no-one wants to be down here. You take the +3 and thank whatever God you worship that your shins are still attached to your legs.
  25. A lot of people said that about Mahrez TBF He's more of a technical player with a game more suited to that league where there's fewer tackles flying in. He's a decent player, the strike against Birmingham and that banger for Turkey show that, just a case of whether he's given enough game time to prove it.
