Ipswich interested in Kalvin Phillips on loan
-
Yeah it would be an unbelievably backwards step for a club with expectant fans. Don’t spend any money, and sell one of your best players
-
That’s good to hear, but there is a little bit of difference in a 31 year old at that back end of his career and 23/24 year old with a point to prove
-
No word from the Gala ITKs that said it was imminent over the weekend?

He isn’t on 4m a year palace offered him 200k a week to stay before he left

I believe this is already in place the July 25 date was the expiry deadline. Article from last year “That practice was curbed by tough new rules on signing overseas prospects which were introduced by the Home Office and agreed with the Football Association and Premier League in the wake of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union. Recent changes to those rules, which allow clubs to sign up to four players on a so-called GBE exemption, will make it easier for Premier League teams to compete with their continental peers for the best young stars. But Chelsea, City and other well-resourced sides are more likely to reserve their GBE exemptions for first-team players rather than speculative acquisitions, says Hateem Ali, immigration partner at JMW Solicitors in London. “The various changes that are now taking effect will in all likelihood require Premier League clubs to alter their loan strategies,” Ali, who has worked with Premier League players and clubs, told City A.M. “Bigger clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea who, over previous seasons have acquired talent and then immediately loaned them out to overseas clubs (even though the player never had a realistic chance of making a first team appearance) will find it even more difficult to continue with this financial model. “They are likely to use their four GBE exemptions only for players who will have a realistic prospect of being involved in the first team. So, the option to buy a player and loan them out abroad becomes less attractive.” How Fifa loan rule changes will affect Premier League teams Also affecting the loan market this summer is a further reduction in the number of players clubs may bring in and send out on temporary moves. From July, teams may only have a maximum of seven players loaned in and seven loaned out at one time – down from eight last season. It will fall to six next summer, although under-21s and club-trained players are exempt. As well as restricting player hoarding, it may also make clubs who have leveraged the loan market extensively, such as Nottingham Forest, more selective about their signings. “The combined impact of new GBE rules together with the reduction of loans in and out from eight to seven will be significant for Premier League clubs,” Ali added. “Clubs that have traditionally relied upon loans from overseas to make a direct impact will now have to think carefully, as the difference between a good loan or a bad loan can sometimes be the difference between avoiding relegation or achieving a European place – the loan of Keylor Navas to Nottingham Forest from Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window being a primary example of this.”

Pl rules Two domestic loans per season at anyone time Total of four domestic loans per season including short term. A maximum of one loan from any premier league club at one time. FIFA regulation of no more than six incoming loans per squad over the age of 22 down from seven last season and eight the season before excluding under 21 and homegrown players. There is a limit of no more than five match day loans per starting 11 in the EFL and from what I have read I don’t think there is a limit in the PL inclusive of the above criteria.

7 goals 2 assists in his last season with Palace, it’s a season later and he is on loan it could go either way how he fits in, likes the manager etc Palace fans on Reddit didn’t seem bothered when linked apart for sentimental reasons and seem to feel like they have moved on. Ayew had more goal involvements last season (11) and that went down like a lead balloon
-
Also said that the players were asking “I don’t think it would be right to put a number on it, but it’s certainly more than a couple. The players want that as well. It gives everybody a boost. “They’re asking. They know. Some of them have played in both leagues and they know the difference. That’s what the desire is. Let’s hope we can make that a reality.”
-
Do you think you might be over analysing this, you are comparing a player playing in a game that lost 3-0 after 2 previous defeats with him celebrating winning the league?
-
Seems like a rudkin bid “Ipswich were reported to have offered just over £21m for him back in June, with Panathinaikos apparently rejecting the bid and demanding at least 30 million euros (£25.7m).”
-
Allegedly on the brink of a move to Ipswich
-
The last season he had in the prem?
-
From a facilities and wages perspective we are, depending on where the player is coming from and what wage they are on
-
£23.2 is the bid and Ipswich had a substantial bid turned down earlier in the window.
-
I hope the squad is strengthened significantly and Cooper loses all wiggle room if he then underperforms.
-
Percy said talks ongoing nothing agreed yet, a few hours ago
-
Lots of options, he has already utilised both left backs and right backs in midfield pre season
-
When you talk about pl standard we are aiming to finish 17th onwards. There are 2 other teams promoted along side us that could also struggle. KDH got 2 goals and 2 assists last time he played in the prem. We have just signed Buonanotte, for creativity. I don’t doubt we still need more. But it should’ve been a conversation kept private. He is basically covering his arse, just like how Rodgers did and look how that went after he said the squad wasn’t good enough and the players are beaten before a ball is kicked.
-
Faes was a starting CB for Belgium at the Euros, he wasn’t in the dregs of the Championship for standard.
-
We haven’t even played any premier league opposition yet and he is getting the excuses in early. By doing so he is effectively giving the squad a perfect excuse to underperform in the upcoming games, before they even get on the pitch.
-
Could be a masterstroke, look so poor pre season it forces the club to act and get quality players in
-
That was a dip under a manager getting off to a good start, don’t think we have hit the dip yet
