As I've said before (posting on the 'League One - Who Manages Us' thread), I don't see Fuchs as being experienced enough to come in as Manager, but I do think he's got enough 'in his locker' to come in as Assistant, backing up an experienced Manager. That man, for me, is Dean Smith. Their history at Charlotte FC together, could mean a good working relationship for us. I think Smith didn't get a fair crack in his previous stint with us and left too early - he has 'unfinished business' and could be the man for us in League 1. Whether he would want to come, is another matter, as would, whether we'd pay Charlotte, to get him!

He's a Consultant at Charlotte FC, where Dean Smith is Manager and Christian Fuchs was Assistant Manager. For me, the 3 of them, make the ready-made (and perfect) package, for us!

Harry Winks (gone to Cagliari, official)

Cov are just as far from his beloved London, as we are. It won't happen - unfortunately. -
Interestingly, after taking Zwolle up to the Eredivisie, he left them to manage Castellon, who were a 3rd TIER side, so he has a history of doing the unexpected! Perhaps he's a guy who's really up for a challenge (and we are a huge one!).

Yep, Dean Smith as Manager, Fuchs as Assistant.

If Top *did* sell - who do you think might buy the club?
Outfox the Fox replied to Stadt's topic in Leicester City Forum
There's a possibility we might be able to get the complete 'package', a Manager and an Owner. Fuchs & David Tepper (the billionaire owner of Charlotte FC - along with a lot of other sports clubs). I think he would bring the money, desire and business acumen we desperately need. Whether Fuchs CV is good enough yet to do the Manager's job on his own, is a big question mark, but if an experienced hand can come with him, I'd be supportive of that 'package'. I'm sure his background with Tepper, would ease a lot of the problem relationships owner and Manager have had with us, since Vichai's loss. -
Reading that article, I agree, McCarron is unlikely to back Fuchs. However, those 2 names mentioned at Lommel, could well be in the frame. Bould resigned from Lommel not long after McCarron left (still with a 50% win record) and is now a Coach at QPR (though would we go back there again!?). Johnson took over in Belgium and continues with a 50% win record in their 'Championship' (though his statistics in UK football are not great, he did OK with Sunderland). McCarron's knowledge of and longstanding links with, Bould & Johnson through the City Football Group's ownership of Lommel (and the fact that an English League 1 job is probably a step up from being Manager of a Belgian 2nd tier club, or an Assistant at QPR), is likely to mean they would be considered.

Spot on, Oundle. Although Fuchs has a pretty limited amount of Managerial experience, he has the nous and background to do a good job for us, again. He's rejuvenated Newport (who were in exactly the same boat as us, 5 months ago, when he took over) and all their fans think he's done what nobody else could, in (almost certainly) preventing relegation. However, if he comes to us, he will need to bring an experienced Coaching team. His time at Charlotte with Dean Smith, might allow him to recruit some of his past assistants (John Terry comes to mind, if we forgive him for his short time for us!).

Charlotte FC's owner, David Tepper - a joint package with Fuchs as Manager!
-
I agree, Fuchs could well be our best option. An upcoming Manager, with a great playing pedigree (of course!) and a reputation as a non nonsense guy. He'd be an even better bet, if he could bring us to the attention of (his old boss) Charlotte FC owner, David Tepper! Tepper could be the billionaire hedge fund manager I could approve of, if he bought in to us.

I read that it's likely there'll be no WSL relegation this season. Something with Championship reorganisation and seedings based on Cup records.

Blackburn winning, West Brom winning, Oxford drawing - we're down!

Apparently, Rowett's Father was a Prison Officer, hopefully his Dad will have taught him, early on in his life, how to deal with 'miscreants'!

Inside info?!

I see its been said he'll be working with the City Women's team, as well as the Men, I wonder if, given his 3 years in Belgium, with Lommel, if he'll also be tasked with looking after Leuven - ie employed by King Power, rather than Leicester City. At the Etihad, he was actually the City Football Group's Global Director of Player Development, so not just responsible for the Man City teams.

See my post and link to the Football Insider article, above! Not turned down by Blackburn - they were prepared to offer a 2 year contract - and Michael O'Neil was second choice!

https://www.footballinsider247.com/gary-rowett-closes-in-on-championship-job-as-strugglers-ready-to-offer-terms/ And it was a 2 year contract on offer there, as well! A nice Rowett podcast there, to look at!

Realistic Managerial Replacements

I agree, its all speculation, none of us poor punters have a clue what's going on - that's another huge criticism of the crowd that's (supposedly) running our club. We have to rely on ITK's (of doubtful reliability), dodgy media reports and bookies odds - its all we've got and so becomes our daily 'bread & butter'. We guess and make assumptions, which could be spot on, or totally wide of the mark. Oh, to follow a club that leaks like a sieve! -

Of course, Pliskin AND DAS Boot could both be right! A prospective Manager turned us down ..... and we pulled out of a deal for another Manager. I wouldn't be surprised if Skibala turned us down (for the reasons I've given earlier) and KP pulled out a prospective deal for Martin, because they couldn't face the expected (and completely understandable) backlash from fans! -

I reckon that someone, was the guy Rowett described as an, "ambitious appointment". I'd put money on it being Skibala -

Is FoxinNotts (a bit of form for ITK?), hinting that Rowett is on his way to us?! -

5/1 now - that's a big jump from 16/1 last night. Must have been a fair bit of money lumped on him today. PROBABLY no reason for it, but you never know! We can only hope. He was always my first choice amongst the candidates listed when MC went -

Now, that would be a good shout - and a possibility (no more than that - as I doubt very much he'd be interested) as well, given his skills in general Management, working with clubs and the FA in squad selection and negotiating player availability. I thought Coleman would be a decent choice in the Director role, with his experience with Wales.
